Everything is at the push of a button, set up was super easy. Just need to have WiFi and compatible tv. My husband is currently using this in his “man cave” and has had no complaints. He's able to stream Netflix, YouTube, even live steaming.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Sony BDP-S1700 a few weeks ago. I mainly use it with my Netflix subscription. It was easy to set up and I have it working with my home wifi. It also can be used as a CD player for music. My family also likes to purchase Blu Ray videos if they want to see a movie multiple times. It comes with a remote control but if you need to connect to ethernet, you have to purchase a cable separately. It is compact and barely takes up any room on my TV cabinet. This is a great blu ray player!

The last player I bought was gigantic and came with a monster remote to match. This package is really compact and looks great underneath our TV. Really nice machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Posted 6 months ago. The Sony Blu-Ray/DVD Player model BDP-BX370 seems to be a great deal for the features you get at the asking price. I had no problem setting it up with my other hardware which includes my TV, soundbar with subwoofer, and Dish receiver. I was easily able to add it to my remote via my harmony hub by plugging it into my PC and adding the device into the Master bedroom setup using the watch a movie button on my remote to activate the necessary hardware. The Player comes with YouTube and is miracast capable which is great but when I tried using it from my wifes phone and casting to the TV via the Blu-Ray player the picture looked bad. I ended up just signing out from the phone and signing her into her YouTube account on the player and then used a wired connection for the internet. It should not have been a problem with wireless considering we have gigabit fiber service and Netgear Orbi's all over the house. It could have been due to some type of interference, not really sure but I expected better. The Sony BDP-BX370 has a good user interface that was easy to navigate and it also has a nice controller as well as a decent assortment of available apps for streaming. My wife wants to use it for dance exercise videos and I was impressed by the picture it produced from a regular DVD. It was very sharp and clear! I did notice the sound was not as loud compared to when we are watching TV through the Dish system for some reason but we can just turn it up or I may be able to change some settings for that. I put it on surround so maybe I should set it to stereo and try that. It has other sound settings as well like PCM and Dolby so there is a comprehensive settings menu. I would say for the price you can't go wrong if you are looking for a 1080p Blu-Ray/DVD player; it has to upscale built-in for older DVDs to make them look close to 1080p. Overall it is very feature-packed for an item at the price point it is set at and I would not hesitate to recommend it to someone.

So many great features in this compact player! I really like the fact that I can access various streaming services. I can easily stream movies with crisp high definition picture quality. This is a great way to upgrade your home entertainment!

It was easy to set up and worked fast and quick. We have been watching some of our fave movies . Worked better than expected!

Plus, I love the streaming option for Netflix. I've used the mirroring feature a few times and it makes it much easier to view family videos instead of crowding around a phone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blue ray player works smoothly, is very little and therefore takes up barely any space and it allows you to not only watch blu ray discs and dvds, but also has a wired internet connection. We take the kids on many trips and this things has come with us three times so far. Hotels offer free wifi so we connect this and the kids can stream their favorite movie before bedtime, without us having to pay for movies at the hotel! It gives high quality video and has been amazing for us!

This Blu-ray player is perfect for those who want to play disks from other regions as it's region free needed a little help from tech at first but I got it here are the instructions below. But I also wanted to mention the sleek and stylish design of the player and remote is nice. Fits well in my tv console. And I'm super happy with it! Was able to borrow a few disks from the library for my son and I and we had fun. All we need now is a new Sony tv! Haha Pressing the Yellow, Blue, or Red buttons while the player is turned off does..... drum roll..... NOTHING! (except make you mad when it doesn't work). Here is how I got mine to switch regions- to ensure I got this correct I swapped back and forth between several different discs coded for different regions- back and forth. 1) Figure out which region you need as follows... Yellow for Region A: This region covers all of North America, South America, and Southeast Asia. Blue for Region B: This encompasses Europe, Africa, Middle East, French territories, and Greenland. Red for Region C: Region which covers the rest of the world including Russia, Asia, and China. 2) Turn on Blu-ray player (menu for the player and/or streaming apps comes on TV screen). 3) Eject the tray. 4) Stick Blu-ray in the tray and DO NOT close the tray (IMPORTANT- DO NOT CLOSE THE TRAY!) 5) Press the colored button for the Region required to play the Blu-ray disc- WHILE THE TRAY IS OPEN and the Blu-ray player is turned on. 6) NOW close the tray. 7) Movie will play for the newly assigned region. 8) Eject the movie when done watching. 9) After watching a movie coded for another region, you probably want to revert back to Region A (assuming you're in the U.S.). 10) Open tray and insert a Region A (U.S.) Blu-ray and LEAVE THE TRAY OPEN!!!! 11) Press the YELLOW key for Region A (U.S.)- WHILE THE TRAY IS STILL OPEN!!! 12) Close the tray. Region A (U.S.) will play. You're now set back to where most of your Blu-rays play. 13) Eject Blu-ray. 14) Turn off the Blu-ray player and TV. Anyway I highly recommend to family and friends its a great little player and I hope my review was helpful to you!
