Liked the car seat more than the stroller

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Modes Element Travel System was just not right for us. Right out of the box, there was a strong plastic/chemical odor. I had to let the stroller and car seat air out a day before assembling. Putting together the stroller was relatively easy. I liked that it came with both the child and parent tray included. The stroller is lightweight and easy to maneuver, but it is not a smooth ride at all. To get the seat to recline, there is a strap that you need to release and to bring the seat up, the same strap needs to be pulled. This was pretty awkward for us and we would have preferred the ease of maybe a button or handle to quickly be able to do this. The same applies for adjusting the foot rest. The velcro straps were awkward as well. The car seat was very easy to install thanks to the latch, and I really appreciated that you could adjust the seat base so that the seat was properly aligned. My only issue with the seat was the loud clicking sound the canopy made when I wanted to shade my baby from any sun/glares. My girl tends to take a nap in the car and the one time the canopy wasn't down, setting it down woke her up. The whole system is easy to lift and take in and out of the car, but I see our family using the car seat alone and not so much the stroller. I appreciate being given this travel system to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Great Features!

I received the Graco Modes Element LX Travel System from the Stellar Product Testing Panel to test out with my 6-month old son. To start, assembling it was a breeze, easy instructions and required no tools. The stroller frame is durable, has tons of storage room underneath which is a great feature when you are juggling a diaper bag and shopping bags. However, the storage area slants and isn't very deep so things fall out. I loved the cup holders and small tray on the handle but wished the tray would have been deeper. The durable frame provides a smooth ride and collapsing the stroller is super easy with one hand. I would have also preferred that the wheels were rubber, not plastic. Now onto the car seat... I didn't like that the canopy had no structure and you had to pull it over the handle each time. I would prefer a canopy that you can just fold back and forth. Overall this is a great travel system for your new baby and I would recommend it!

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this travel system. It's a little bulky but not bad. So storage isn't a problem. I received this travel system for free to try as a result of the Stellar Product Testing panel. The functionality of it is amazing! The parent tray comes in handy! While the kid tray works great with little ones! My favorite thing about this is it's versatility. It is very easy to use and the car seat installs fairly easily. The whole travel system is very durable and easy to clean.

Poorly build

Bought this for my third baby and out of the other car seats/strollers I've had. This is by far the worst. The base for the carseat that stays in the car is not sturdy at all it wobbles everywhere. Sometimes the carseat gets stuck on there and I have to get in the car through the other side to get it out. Very bulky and when folded you have to carry it to take elsewhere since the handle and the wheels fold to the same side if that makes sense, so you cant roll it to put away elsewhere. Again I am a mom of theree now so I need all those extra little details that would make my life, and any other mom, life easier

Give it a try!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this product for free to test from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was really looking forward to testing it as well! I first want to talk about the car seat...it has super easy installation and I love the new features that accompany it. It's unlike anything I have seen from other companies and I think that they are very useful. However, I have a particularly chunky baby who is still below weight limit and even with the belt loosened as far as it will go it's still VERY tight across her chest to the point it doesn't want to latch so unfortunately I didn't get to test her actually riding in the seat. It latches into the stroller wonderfully! And now for the stroller review!! I LOVE this stroller! It is so easy breezy! I love that you can turn the seat to face you, or turn it so they can face out. I love that you can put a tray on it for your child and they also were very parent friendly with the adding of the tray for small items like cell phone, keys and a drink or two! Let's talk about the storage space on this baby, too! Wowza! You've never seen a stroller with so much storage I promise you that. I also love that they were considerate of the different vehicles we, as caregivers , drive. You can pull more of this apart for a more compact storage or leave together if you have space and I just love that throughout this whole set you can definitely tell parents we're behind designing it and we're considering convenience!

Great Travel System with a good stroller

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an awesome travel system with a nice functional stroller that I've really enjoyed taking my son on walks in! The infant carrier fits easily into the body of the stroller and seems very comfortable for my 5 month old. I've also tried taking my 23 month old toddler on a walk in it in the toddler configuration, but (like in literally every stroller I've ever tried) she fights to get out. She did manage to stay in comfortably for the first and last 10 minutes of the walk though, which is better than in most strollers. The tray is good for holding snacks too! As a car seat, it's fairly easy to install and once it's in its easy to pop in the carrier and go. My favorite part of the travel system is the easy portability - it's not extremely heavy and it's easy to get around town with. I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and it has been wonderful!

Lightweight and Versatile Travel System

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Graco I was given this travel system to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I love travel systems for their ease and convenience with an infant still using a carrier, and was excited to try this one because the stroller itself had desirable configurations for use beyond clicking in the carrier. The carrier was assembled out of the box, with very little to do but click and go. I opted to wash the insert because that's my usual practice, and I noticed a slight plasticy odor at first. The entire insert/cover was super easy to remove, had straightforward cleaning instructions, and went back on easily. It was intuitive to replace, so it was nice that I didn't need to look at several diagrams in order to do it properly. The base was easy to install with the LATCH system in our vehicle. The carrier itself is very lightweight and clicks in to both the base and stroller easily. It's clear when it's in correctly with the audible click. I liked that there are multiple height adjustments for the shoulder straps to allow for taller babies to still be comfortable. The canopy is generous and provides plenty of protection from the elements. I felt this infant carrier was more upright than our other - baby did not seem to sit back as far in this one, and the sides didn't come up as high. She enjoyed the extra visibility, but it did make me wonder if it provides as much protection - although all safety certifications indicate that it does. All in all, it seems to be a great carrier! Now onto the stroller. It came with a lot of bags and parts, which was overwhelming, but it ended up being surprisingly easy to assemble. I decided to try it out while both kids (baby and toddler) were awake, and I was able to get it together in under 30 minutes without breaking a sweat. The stroller is stylish and has a lot of great features. It's lightweight and has my must-have one handed fold feature. It is somewhat long when folded, but fit easily in the trunk of our small SUV. It has a very roomy under basket - it fit a backpack style diaper bag, structured baby carrier and some toys my toddler threw in for good measure. I love that in addition to accepting the carrier with no adapter required, the seat fully reclines and can easily be reconfigured to face both in and out. It handled turns well and provided a smooth ride that everyone enjoyed. The few cons to this stroller are small. It folds via a button/handle near the handlebar, but this ends up near the ground once folded, and there is no convenient handle at the top once the stroller is folded to carry/lift it. It comes with a parent organizer which is nice but small - it just barely fit my go-to reusable water bottles in the cup holders. The canopy is a bit flimsy, which I find is often the case for strollers that can be reconfigured and therefore don't have the canopy permanently attached. From what I can tell, this stroller cannot convert to a double, which would be another great addition to a really well-rounded travel system. Still, none of these are deal breakers for our family. I feel this travel system is a winner!

Affordable, lite and versatile system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have now used our Modes(TM) Element LX Travel System for approximately two weeks and there are more than a few reasons you should give this system your serious consideration when purchasing a car seat/stroller infant/toddler system. Apart from being affordable, it's a lite and versatile system that will serve your family for years. Let's start with some the aspects our family liked the most. First, the overall system is designed in such a way to make transitioning from car to stroller and car seat to toddler seat very easy Other systems require a number of adapters, add-ons and other parts to make their systems work for multiple children and multiple configurations. With the Modes(TM) Element LX Travel System, you can very quickly go from one configuration to the next without a lot of effort — very important when you have fussy kids ready to be on the move. Speaking of transitions, when it comes time to store the stroller in your trunk, it couldn't be any quicker and easier to fold up. When unfolding, the release latch is more conveniently located than other systems I've seen. This will keep you from pinching your fingers when folding and unfolding the system. Next, I found the storage options on the stroller to be a much nicer feature than other, more expensive strollers we have tested. The back of the stroller storage is lower and more open than other systems, which makes placing a large diaper bug under the stroller much easier than other systems we've tested. We came to appreciate this more and more as we used the Modes(TM) Element LX Travel System. Let's also talk about snack trays. We found ourselves using these more than I originally anticipated — not just for the kids — the parent tray is now a must-have feature for our walks to store a drink, cell phone, etc. Finally, the Modes(TM) Element LX Travel System made an excellent design choice to include canopies on the stroller and car seat that come down very far to shield your little one from the elements. Canopies on other car seats and strollers we've seen do not come down far enough to really block the sun out. Some times this means you have to use a blanket or move the stroller backwards to keep the sun out of our little one's face. Our only two concerns with the system involve the infant car seat. First, while the installation was not the most difficult we have ever seen, I would not describe it as the easiest to install. Because the base is large, installing this in a small sedan was challenging. Installing the base in our SUV was less challenging — so those with smaller vehicles should keep that in mind. Of course, if you do not plan on removing the base often, this should not be a big factor when deciding if this system is right for you. The other concern for small car owners is the width of the car seat itself. While this is surely a positive for little ones, it made the middle seat of our small sedan virtually unusable. I would guess a lot of car seats have this same challenge so it's not a dealbreaker. I received this travel system from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Great system, great price point!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the Modes Element Travel System through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this product and how easy it was to assemble and use. Assembly was very straight forward and easy and the car seat system was very easy to install and easy to use and was also easy to transfer from the car seat to the stroller system. I was also very happy with the size of the under basket storage on the stroller system. The child tray is also extremely useful and convenient as well as the parent tray! My favorite feature of this system is the turning radius. It practically turns on itself and I love that. It makes it extremely easy to maneuver. I would definitely purchase this again and would absolutely recommend it to someone looking to purchase an all in one system. And the price point is fantastic!

Very easy to move around every terrain

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a first time mom, I am always on the go either walking or traveling by car. I had a small stroller when my baby was born to use it with the car seat. It was fine in the city but didn't do well on different terrains so I was limited to just walk on asphalt. When I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel I was so HAPPY that the stroller wheels were big and appropriate for every terrain. I went to the park with my baby and I had to cross a really tough area with rocks and the stroller did pretty well, my baby didn't seem too bother as I maneuver around the rocks so that was a plus. The stroller moves very smoothly and it's handles are soft. My favorite feature is that it has a one hand folding bottoms so you can hold the baby and fold the stroller at the same time. ( I'm often just by myself and I need it to be easy to collapse while I also hold my baby and get it inside our apartment.) When folded it doesn't use too much space and it stands by itself pretty well. It is not very compact but it's not huge either. It's not too heavy for me and I'm 5'2 and have to get it upstairs to the second floor. ( I also have a jogging stroller and it's too big, it uses too much space I really dislike it. I was totally miserable bringing it up and down the stairs) I never used the storage basket with heavy stuff but it's very spacious and easy to bring things in and out without bothering baby or waking her up when she is asleep. The sit reclines to almost flat so my baby can nap very comfortably while I'm running errands. I could even change her diaper once on the go with no problems. I absolutely like how easy it is to change the sit position facing me or facing front and my baby enjoys it as well. The canopy is pretty big and it feels sturdy. It has a peekaboo window to look at baby. The breaks are on each side of the wheels and they are good but I would appreciate if it was only one pedal to control the breaks with just one foot. It has the option to use the car seat on the stroller frame without the toddler seat, also a great feature for when we drive and go shopping I can just take the car seat and connect it to the frame and go, it's so easy:) it comes with a child and parent tray which are pretty standard and funcional. The only thing it don't like it's the straps. The shoulder straps are disconnected from the waist straps so you have to line them up all together in the correct side and it's hard to do it with a squirming anxious baby sometimes. That's why I didn't think it's a 5 stars product. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this travel system.
