Just what I expected

There is only one issue with this that we have found, but it's a big one: the "On" indicator light is so small you cannot see it unless you are standing right over the device. There is no secondary display with info as to what the player is doing (playing, stopped, etc.), so some time we are fiddling with the remote buttons and wondering why it is taking so long for the DVD to start playing, when we realize that the initial "Power On" command didn't take, so it is still off.

I only purchased this DVD player to watch red box movies and select DVD's i already have. Our family uses the apple TV to stream other movies most often. The DVD player was a decent price - wish it was cheaper than 40 dollars considering most people have blu ray players and other streaming devices to watch movies and etc. regular DVD players are obsolete and should cost less than 30 dollars. I needed it so I bought it to do my T-25 workouts.

We bought this for a relative who is bed-bound, so her could watch DVDs. As he will not be playing Blue-ray, I did not choose an upgraded unit that allows that. He has used the player for about a month now, and has encountered no problems yet.. I installed it for him, and that process went fast and seamlessly. For the money, I feel this unit is a very good deal.

I needed to replace my Panasonic that I had for over 10 years. Bought this one, hooked it up, turned it on........picture was fuzzy, set up was extremely confusing, instructions didn't help---AND ALL MY MOVIES WERE PLAYED IN BLACK AND WHITE!! No Color! OH wait, I need to go buy a special HDMI cord that was not in the box--screw that--took it back.

Bought this yesterday. Hooke it up.. TRIED power on on the remote .. nothing happened TRIED power on button on the unit .. nothing happened Switched electrical outlet source & repeated power on ..NOTHING happened.. I based my decision to buy this DVD player due mainly on SONY's quality reputation. SONY failed miserably.. NEVER again

Very flimsy and feels cheap. Does not play Blu-ray DVDs just regular DVDs. Takes a while to load and sometimes needs to be reset and turned off because it will not read the DVD. Overall, it does eventually work. I just needed to show movies about twice a year For my classroom so I will keep it.

I really am enjoying this new player. It has some cool features and it is easy to hook up. Just plug it in to the outlet, plug the HDMI Cable in and it's ready to use. I was even able to play a disc that tried to skip or freeze and this player wouldn't let it. The remote is simple and easy to use. Not to many buttons or functions. And is programmable

This player has been a problem from the very first day I used it. It plays some DVDs, and others it stops, shortly after play begins. At first I thought it was a problem with the DVDs, but when they are brand new - never played before - I have to assume the player is at fault. I put up with it for some time, since I don't frequently use it; but it does make a rather good frisbee (until it hit the pavement in front of my house). Spend a little more money, and get SOMETHING THAT WORKS!

I used to think the Sony name meant quality. Not any more. The DVD Upscaling Player Model DVP-SR510H is not worth any more than other off-brands. 1. Can't tell if power is on (if a light exists I cannot see it). 2. Very long delay when either eject button on unit or remote is got before it responds. 3. DVD load time is slower than it should be. 4. Older dvd tend to pause during replay a periodically then continue. Overall its ok but I would just get a cheaper brand next time for a "throw away" DVD player.
