I got this DVD player so that I can watch my DVDs on my HDTV instead of on my laptop. It was easy to connect it via HDMI cable to the TV. It works perfectly for me since I only plan to us it to watch DVDs and nothing else. I also like its compact size since I live in a small apartment and space is at a premium.

Bought less then 30 days ago. Can not turn subtitles off. Remote has a subtitlee button but it dosn't work. I have tried new releaces and older movies. This if the dvd player itself. Mot happy feel cheated. Pass on this one. Not worth it. The onn brand from wallmart was better then this.

Worked great out of the box the first day. Didn't work at all on the second day. Tried different power outlets, etc., nothing. Was purchased for an elderly relative and I had to leave early the morning after it quit working and didn't have time to try and return it.

Nice size- fits under TV. Easy to install and remote even came with batteries. Was well packaged. Metal housing not plastic so not too lightweight. Just started using it for DVD movies but everything seems to be working as it should. Always had confidence in Sony products so optimistic that it will last without problems.

I had previously used my PS2 to play DVDs but after that stopped working I knew I needed a real DVD player. I looked online to compare different products and found this one to be cheap with good ratings. It has super easy setup and I'm pleased with how well it works.

this is low priced dvd player and performs as such. it has no front display panel. It has very limited connection options and most of all the mechanism works like a bottom of the line unit. it takes forever to power up, open and load a disc. picture quality is good for this price range, but the overall performance of the unit is equal to it's budget price. I kept this unit for 1 day and returned it for a higher end model. if you are on a tight budget and don't expect much performance wise, it might fit the bill, but didn't meet my needs or expectations

Looks, feels, weighs and works like high quality. Buttons on the remote control are good and accessible for average size adult fingers (not pixie fingers like my previous player). The DVD player has 2 connected cables. The one connecting to back of the television screen is 8 feet long. The cable connecting to an electrical wall outlet is nearly 4 feet long. The sound is controlled by the TV remote; everything else is controlled by buttons on the DVD remote. I've got this DVD player hooked up to a TV that gets input from a $39 indoor antenna laid flat on a shelf near a window - no cable fees, no cable service involved. The antenna plugs into a wall outlet, also, so two electrical outlets are needed for all 3 devices. Point the DVD remote to either the DVD player itself (which also contains manual buttons for on/off and open/close) or to the TV to make selections on how to set up and view DVD stories. Of course, it also plays CDs. A bargain, and no commercials!

there are very few dvds that play continuously anymore and this one has that feature, i am using this for display reasons and ended up buying 3 more they worked so good and are compact easy to move and hook up, looking for a display one or continuously play for the kids to watch cartoons or movies to keep them busy this is the one you want,

Player is slim and compact, easy to set up with just the a/v output and general power plug. Remote included with many functions. Picture and audio are clear. All features have been tested and working as expected, except setting the remote to also control my tv, which I just have not tried at all. Great value from a brand I trust.

The only change I would make with this DVD Player is the tiny-tiny green light that alerts you that the player is on. The lights in the room has to be off in order for you to see the green light. I had read this (review) prior to my purchasing this DVD player but thought that perhaps the previous buyer might've had a visual impairment or something but that wasnt the case. It really needs to be large enough to see with the lights on in the room. Otherwise....its fine. Nice sleek look.
