Much smaller than our old unit. Works fine. Like the "subtitle" button that allows us to turn on movie subtitles without going through menu navigation. Only thing we miss is that there is no display on the unit, so we have to go through on-screen-display to see elapsed time in whatever we're watching. Walmart ship-to-store worked great.

Power on light barely can be distinguished! Until I pushed every button on the remote, I couldn't get off the "Speaking in a barrel sound" effect! Finally discovered the "slow/Fast" button would solve most of this! Never had a system that operated thusly!

This DVD Player is the BEST by far! I had purchased two DVD players (other brands) and neither of them worked for me. The set-up instructions didn't make sense and I returned both of them to the store quite frustrated. Then I purchased this Sony. The set-up instructions were very easy to follow and it works like a charm! Thank you Sony! You are the best!!

works just fine on most DVD's but my AtmosFX halloween DVD's do not have any sound unless I play them at .8 speed or 1.4 speed, however these DVD's play just fine in my computer. The LED light for the power button is way too dim to see that the player is on. Does come with composite cord however it does not have an HDMI cord. All in all for the price not bad

Everything is great about this product except for the pilot light that lets you know when the unit is on. You can barely see this light, and it is more on the top of the unit, and it should be on the front where you can see it from across the room. Other than that, it is excellent, and provides a really great picture, even from older non HDMI quality DVD's

NO info readout on player, barely visible ON light, worst remote & menus I have owned at least 8 DVD players from makers SONY, Panasonic, Philips and Magnavox and this SONY 510 is the only one I have ever had to return. The compact size and good picture output are greatly overshadowed by its many flaws: The tiny green pilot "ON" light is barely visible from the front - only from the top. There is no digital display on the player showing time, chapter or anything else. The screen setup menu is abysmal - confusing and very hard to use. The remote is not intuitive and hard to use. Complete disappointment. Terrible design. Avoid this device.

I love this DVD player. It took less than 5 minutes to get out of the box and set up. And, when there is a very excited 3 year old holding Despicable Me in his little hands, this was important to me. I would recommend this product to anyone in the hunt for a good DVD player. A great price and easy setup.. Best birthday present!!

My DVD player stopped working so I was going to take it to repair shop but I looked on line at Walmart to see what a new one would cost. Boy was I supprised. They had this Sony player on sale under $40 and two day delivery. Wow. It works great and the delivery was on time. I already had the HDMI cord so I hooked it up and used it right away. Great picture and sound. Its slim so it fit under the TV and was out of the way. Great Buy!

Purchase at the Walmart store was simple and straightforward. The unit seems to work just fine. Configuration and set-up for such a unit should be a cinch, and they were. Thank goodness for the remote, because the buttons on the unit are very difficult to depress. I use a spoon to depress them. When using the remote to control the TV, keep in mind that the remote has to be configured for the TV type first, before it will work. The instructions describe this plainly. You have to be patient with this device, because some of the commands take several seconds to take effect.

It plays wonderfully well, but the machine will slide as you put in a CD if you do not hold it in place on the stand. No problems at all with this machine for our Smart tv. We have used it on a routine basis lately and no problems in the least with it. I would recommend it to anyone in need of such a player. Great price and value in my opinion.
