We bought this pergola last spring when we poured our 26x25 concrete patio for our pool area. It was rather easy to install; looks great; very sturdy. We have added lights, wind chime, rug, fire pit, and 4 chairs underneath of it. We have had so many compliments! Well worth the purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for our back patio and it is absolutely perfect, I love the color, design, and sturdiness. We hung white curtains and lights and it makes the most lovely ambiance. Couldn't be more satisfied and happy with my purchase!

Purchased and built this pergola two weekends ago with the help of my brother in law and father in law. Took about 8 hours overall. Constructed and installed a privacy screen last weekend. Pergola kit is exceptionally well made. All the points of attachment lined up and all the screws worked. Longest part of the installation was drilling concrete to anchor the pergola. Don't bother with the included anchors, but buy some Tapcon Redheads instead (stronger and longer). Planning to replace the canopy with something waterproof, but it works for shade in the meantime.

We had a lovely grey wood pergola, built in 2005, that needed lots of paint and upkeep and it was finally beginning to rot at the base because we got our share of rain and snow in WA. My husband wanted this steel one and I was afraid the white steel would overwhelm the backyard, but it turned out to be just beautiful and will last forever with no upkeep!!

I bought this for a patio in my back yard. I wanted it to be the same height as my roof on my house and shop, so I built concrete columns on which to erect the pergola, covered in stone veneer (see pictures). In the process now of adding a light at each corner (not included in kit) (see pictures). I haven't even pulled the AC power center out of the box yet and probably won't end up using it. Overall, this is an easily assembled kit that really looks quite nice, attested by my neighbors' comments on seeing it.

The stainless steel studs that need to be inserted through the large holes, and then into the post should be accompanied by a 6 inch piece of flexible, tubing that snuggly fits over the stud for initial contact with the female threads, and then pulled off of the stud, to turn further in with a standard allen wrench provided. This would avoid any of the studs accidentally falling off inside of the main rail, which would necessitate taking the rail splice apart to retrieve the stud.

We bought this to replace an old canopy and to update the look of our patio. We could not be more happy with the purchase. The canopy arrived exactly in the timeframe we were quoted at time of purchase. It was drop shipped and the company even carried it into our garage (which they weren't supposed to). We unfortunately noticed one column was badly damaged and we immediately called the number on the box as instructed. Customer service was very sincere and prompt in their response to help send out a replacement ASAP (which we received in 3 days). The assembly was time consuming but not hard at all. Definitely a 2-3 person job so grab a friend and a few cold ones. Our only constructive criticism is that the canopy can use a middle buckle (mid span) because once the 4 corners are tightened the center of the sides "curl" or "fold" in. We opted for the 14x12 and think its PERFECT in every way !! (lights shown were NOT included but added after assembly).

We had a spectacular Blue Spruce tree that was 30 feet tall and as wide. It was over 50 years old and had been the Christmas tree of the little boy who lived in our house before we bought it. We loved it, but it became ill and we were treating it for its sickness. Sadly it was very weak, but a wonderful friend. Fast forward to a horrific wind storm one evening that blew across our creek and the next morning we came out to find our friend had blown over and its root ball had uprooted. It was a mess, but because we took such good care of it, our "friend" did not do damage to our fence, our pool or our patio. It just sighed and fell over. We always wanted a pergola in our yard, but we had no place to put one because of our tree. After we said goodbye to the remains of our Spruce, I immediately went to a folder I had saved for years from Backyard Discovery. Inside the folder was the perfect pergola and my husband agreed. Our handyman and a helper were so impressed when they opened the box and began to unpack the components of the pergola. They were amazed at how well it was made and the careful packaging of the parts. Within two days they had our fabulous new pergola erected and it is absolutely gorgeous. We are so anxious for our garden surrounding it to bloom as it will be a picturesque spot to sit and overlook our pool. Everyone tells us the location was destined to have a pergola and it is a spectacular one. The next step is to have our electrician install lights so our garden spot will be complete. We can't say enough about Backyard Discovery, the quality of our pergola and the ease with which it can be installed. It is a lemonade ending to a lemon of a story and we know our Blue Spruce is looking down and telling us how happy it is we chose a pergola as a replacement! Thank you Backyard Discovery.

This pergola is just what our backyard needed! It's beautiful and we get many compliments. It came in well organized boxes and was pretty easy to put together. Customer service was excelent, responded right away to questions. We now have a nice place on our patio to entertain family and friends!

Purchased the white 16x12 Hawthorne in March 2023 and could NOT be more satisfied!! The quality of this steel-framed Pergola is superior to others we considered - not to mention assembly was much easier than expected. Absolutely would highly recommend this product - no regrets!
