Looks absolutely amazing on our patio! Assembly with BILT app was remarkably simple, but of course time consuming (put together by 3 people over the course of 2 days). No missing parts, everything fit together perfectly, no misaligned holes or stripped screws. Arrives in 4 long boxes (approximately 150-200 pounds each), very manageable for 2 people. So far, we are very satisfied with this purchase and very hopeful it will stand the test of time. Satin black finish looks great and seems durable, and this provides more shade than expected. Love the included power strip as well, nice touch. Overall, this pergola exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be more pleased.

The pergola is beautiful and very sturdy. My bf and I set it up over the course of two days, and in total it took around 6 hours. My only complaint is the sunshade, the clips are not attached to the sunshade very well and it doesn't really fit my 10 x12 pergola. For such a nice structure I would expect a better quality sunshade.

This is a very well engineered, thought out item. There is no waste in assembling this pergola. The packaging is such that items are snug as a bug on a rug. Assembly instructions are clear and concise, and available with the items as well as via a 3D app. You may download a pdf version, too. Four 100+ lb boxes is thoughtful, as it is manageable for most tandem sets of DIYers to handle. Parts are individually placed in bags. Two tightening tools is all that is needed. A rubber mallet was the only additional piece of equipment other than a ladder that was needed. It was a low-stress one day, 10-hr project.

The pergola is a beautiful addition to our backyard. The crew of three that built our deck put it together in a few hours, they said it was the easiest pergola they have built and that it was the only one that they have built that wasn't missing parts and wasn't broken or dented upon arrival. Plenty of room for a sofa, loveseat, chairs, and a fire table. Can't wait to enjoy our outdoor living area this year.

This pergola is just what our backyard needed! It's beautiful and we get many compliments. It came in well organized boxes and was pretty easy to put together. Customer service was excelent, responded right away to questions. We now have a nice place on our patio to entertain family and friends!

We bought this to replace an old canopy and to update the look of our patio. We could not be more happy with the purchase. The canopy arrived exactly in the timeframe we were quoted at time of purchase. It was drop shipped and the company even carried it into our garage (which they weren't supposed to). We unfortunately noticed one column was badly damaged and we immediately called the number on the box as instructed. Customer service was very sincere and prompt in their response to help send out a replacement ASAP (which we received in 3 days). The assembly was time consuming but not hard at all. Definitely a 2-3 person job so grab a friend and a few cold ones. Our only constructive criticism is that the canopy can use a middle buckle (mid span) because once the 4 corners are tightened the center of the sides "curl" or "fold" in. We opted for the 14x12 and think its PERFECT in every way !! (lights shown were NOT included but added after assembly).

I bought this for a patio in my back yard. I wanted it to be the same height as my roof on my house and shop, so I built concrete columns on which to erect the pergola, covered in stone veneer (see pictures). In the process now of adding a light at each corner (not included in kit) (see pictures). I haven't even pulled the AC power center out of the box yet and probably won't end up using it. Overall, this is an easily assembled kit that really looks quite nice, attested by my neighbors' comments on seeing it.

Couldn't ask for a better product or company. The pergola arrived in a couple of days, communication was great, super easy to assemble with clear instructions and everything fit together as expected. And of course, it's absolutely beautiful. Have had it a few months in intense Chicago weather and so far so good.

THE METAL CONSTRUCTION SHOULD BE EASY TO MAINTAIN. THE WHITE COLOR WOULD LOOK REALLY ELEGANT! I LIKE THIS STYLE BETTER THAN THE CORNER...IT WOULD FIT EASIER INTO AN EXISTING LANDSCAPE OR PATIO AREA. AND IT IS A VERY AMPLE SIZE IN COMPARISON TO SOME OF THE OTHERS.

We needed a space for shade and a space where we wanted to create an outdoor room. We took a space of our outdoor patio to do that. So my husband and I with our sons completed the pergola in 4 hours. Each time I look at the pergola I'm in awe of its beauty and reminded of our time building it. It was actually a lot of fun to build. Each person had their role to play in making it. The instructions were fantastic. I would definitely purchase again from Backyard Discovery. Our sun shade is not in the picture due to the fact that it was 6 inches too short. With that said, once I let them know, they ordered me a new right away. You won't be disappointed with the quality of this pergola. Hopefully you and your family will build one together and enjoy making memories for years to come. bonus feature of the outdoor plug system was great when we added outdoor string lights.
