I thought it was kind of gimmicky but since installing this on one of our bathroom trash cans it has eliminated odors while not being an overwhelming artificial scent. The only thing I didn't love about this was that it was very difficult to get the cover off of the adhesive, and I almost pulled that whole portion off.

Even when the garbage can is closed, you can still smell this around the garbage. I highly recommend this and I can't wait to buy more refills. Installation was exceptionally easy. Sometimes with stronger odors, it didn't do that well and it just smelled like the air freshener plus trash and that wasn't very pleasant but for the most part, it did a good job.
