It's very convenient to take with you somewhere to have a snack outside the home. For example, I took it to school. I added a couple more pieces of chicken and it turned out to be a complete meal.

The rice was fluffy and had a nice roasted chicken taste that wasn't too salty. The bits of carrot added a slight sweetness, and the herbs gave it a fresh flavor. It smelled great right out of the cup and was super easy to make. Overall, it's a solid choice when you want something fast but still tasty and the packaging is nice.

I consistently buy the Ben's Original Microwave pouches for easy sides during the week. I have never tried the microwave cups, however. I love that with the pouches, you purely have to open them and microwave, and then you are all set. This required you to fill with water to a marked line and then stir it and then microwave. Not hard to do, but certainly less convenient than the pouch. I did like the flavor of this chicken rice to the pouch chicken-flavored rice. I'm not sure what the difference is, but this was much more flavorful. I enjoyed the texture and didn't notice any rice grains that didn't get cooked well. This was really good and I'll buy some again for my stash.

Only compliant was the texture — a bit al dente. Overall I would get it again, a lot quicker than cooking rice on the stove
