First Generator

Have just completed the break in and it does run quiet. Ran on propane. Ran 2 periods. Second run took a bunch of hit the start buttons to get it running. I like that it is lighter than some in the same category. Instructions where a little vague on battery hookup. Should tell you which side. Not a fan of the low handle. Kind of a pain to open for an old guy of 70. Plan on getting a outlet to house for easy home backup so the 50 amp connection will be great.

One of my best purchases ever!

I couldn’t be happier with my Westinghouse iGen8200TFc—it’s easily one of the best investments I’ve made for reliable backup power. Right out of the gate, the tri-fuel capability is a game changer: being able to run on gasoline, propane, or natural gas gives unbeatable flexibility depending on supply and situation. What really sets this generator apart is its inverter technology, which produces clean, stable power with less than 3% total harmonic distortion—perfect for sensitive electronics like phones, laptops, and TVs without risking damage. The unit is notably quiet and fuel efficient, thanks to its smart Eco mode that adjusts engine speed to match the load, saving fuel and reducing noise even during long runtimes. It’s built with thoughtful features you’ll actually use: a digital LED data center that displays fuel level, running hours, voltage, and more, plus a remote electric start so you don’t have to be right next to it every time you power up. The CO sensor and automatic shutdown give added peace of mind for safety during prolonged use. With robust power output capable of running essentials like AC, refrigerator, sump pump, and tools—even simultaneously—it’s ideal for home backup, RV camping, job sites, or emergency preparedness. Overall, this generator combines performance, convenience, safety, and flexibility in a package that’s hard to beat for the price. Highly recommended!

Initial (positive) review of igen8200Tfc generator

I bought this igen8200tfc tri-fuel inverter generator at appx 30% discount 3 weeks ago during (Jan 2026) polar vortex. The thousands of reviews showed it has an unusually positive rating, 4.8/5 stars at one major vendor and 4.9/5 on another. We never lost utility power, so I'm just now registering and then doing break-in procedures later today. I did the inventory and inspection. It came with a REAL full-size manual! Its about an hour to fully read it/bookmark it, but the manual is very readable and well-illustrated (Thank You, Westinghouse!). I charged the battery overnight with the supplied trickle-charger. Added the supplied 10w30 engine oil (the supplied flexible screw-in filler funnel worked great to prevent any drips). So far everything looks correct per my inspection of connections, housing, panels, etc. Overall looks good. It is definately a quite heavy (135lbs) item, but for its power output level (6,600 RUNNING watts) is relatively light. I am able to lift it, but will be using ramps to load it in the back of my 2004 F150 bed. It's height (22 inches) just barely fits under my tonneau cover, but will transport just fine. (Sweet!). I just wanted to register it prior to first break-in startup. Wish me luck. I will try to update this review (presently 4 out of 5 stars) over time if this site will allow updates.

nice generator, disonest advertising !

I bought this generator 3 months ago and am generally pleased with it. Part of the sales pitch at the time was that I would receive a free cover. That has never happened in spite of repeated requests, all of which remain ignored and unanswered by Westinghouse ! I cannot recommend doing business with this company !

Good value for the money

Just received the generator and wanted to get it registered. Have not run it yet. Unit was well packaged and in great shape. Looks to be very well made. Seems to be a great value money wise for a unit of this size. I did a lot of research before deciding on this particular generator, and it appears like it was a good decision. Anxious to try it out.

Great features

I got this to power the majority of my house when needed. The features, quiet rating, and multiple fuel options is what sold me. Nice compact machine that I can fit under my work bench while storing. I will be able to plug this directly into my home since I had the electrician wire in a plug that also goes through my breaker box when we built our home.

Started right up on propane

Purchased as a backup generator for our house when the power goes out. It will be enough to keep the refrigerators running and lights on, and probably a bit more. I got the generator setup with a propane tank and it started right up. Eventually, I plan to tap into our house's gas line so I won't have to worry about gasoline and propane tanks, but it's nice to have all three options.

Everything I was looking for (almost)

It just arrived yesterday and the setup was easy, basically just adding oil and attaching two electrical connectors to each other. The generator's fit and finish were excellent. My only problem is that it wouldn't initially start on propane. I tried a number of times, but it just wouldn't turn over, so I put some gas in and it started right up. After running on gas for ten minutes, I shut it down and tried it on propane again and this time it started up and ran for another five minutes until I shut it down. I see others have also had this problem. Not a huge deal breaker, but they should get this sorted out. Otherwise, it seems like a great machine.

Quiet and Compact

Pretty easy set-up after unboxing. Design and quality appear to have been well thought out. Not crazy about the suitcase style/wagon handle for transport but also not planning on going hiking with it. Slight concern about reports of being unable to pull start if battery is dead but will find a way to make it work. Overall happy with the purchase.

Versatile generator

Bought this just in time for an ice storm and couldn’t be happier. Setup was easy, and I had it running quickly for the break-in period ahead of the storm. It runs quietly and smoothly on gasoline, and I plan to use propane overnight if needed. I’ll probably add a natural gas hookup before the next storm for maximum flexibility. Very impressed so far.
