iGen11000DFc - WOW, what a beast!

I kept looking at the different options and decided to go with the Westinghouse iGen11000DFc because of the reviews. And needless to say, it blew my mind! I tried it on with gasoline and propane and am now ready for Florida's next hurricane-season power outages!

Easy Setup

Bought this generator after having three power outages this winter. This is my first generator and I wanted one that would be quiet but have enough power to run refrigerators, water heater, and heat. Setup was easy. Two people can easily lift the generator out of the packaging and move it around for assembly. Tools needed were included which was great since I didn't have a 24mm wrench. Only part that was a challenge was filling the oil. The funnel included looks like it should screw into the oil inlet, but it doesn't. As a result, it's a bit tricky to fill the oil without spilling some of it. Also, the key fob for remote start has a plastic ring around the battery that needs to be removed before it will work. I didn't see anything about this in the instructions. I started it up to test it using propane. Started easily and was pretty quiet.

Quiet and powerful

I’m using this for a mobile food trailer and so far it has worked very well. It’s surprisingly quiet, too, which is ideal for using at events and festivals. So far so good! I’ll update this review if anything goes awry, but hopefully nothing will (for a long time).

Great Backup Generator

i bought this as a back up for my home and for temp use in my camper when two AC units are needed. Assembly was a breeze and all tools needed for assembly were included, a nice plus. Filled with oil and a couple of gallons of gas and it fired right up. Remote key FOB works great. In process of fully charging internal battery now. Will be running the rest of the break in period tomorrow. All in all a great product, I am sure this will work out great.

Great Features, super quiet.

I just received it. Assembly was simple and straight forward. After adding the oil, I started it up and it ran smooth and quiet. I will do the break-in run in the next few days. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is because I haven't used it yet.

Everything that you could want in a generator

This is my third generator. Decided an inverter generator is a must. My other big generator caused problems with my sensitive electronics. This one is quiet and powerful. I like that they included the extras. Especially the battery maintainer. Came well packed and the instructions were good. Started right up. Love the display. Very happy with my purchase.

Starts right up

Generator started right up on the first try. Instructions could be a little more clear ... seems like a lot of buttons and displays on the generator ... and takes me a while to find everything in the user manual. Quite quiet. Like that I can use propane and not gasoline (which would just clog up the gears and needs additional maintenance every year like my snowblower does.)

Powerful, Quiet, & Ready Out Of The Box

I own several generators for my business. This is the most powerful and the quietest generator I own. Out of the box, they provide you with every tool needed to assemble. You only have to put on the handle, 2 wheels, and bumper stops. They are very easy to assemble, less than 5 minutes, plus the tools they provide are actually good tools to use in the future. Then the kicker is, they provide you with the oil and funnel to fill up the unit. So many generators you have to connect the battery in a painful way. This is a simple disconnect plug. 100 stars for out of the box assembly.

A true power house

I recently bought this to be prepared for any upcoming power outages. My home is wired with a 50-amp plug, so all I needed to purchase was the correct power cord. I went ahead and did a test run—after turning on all the main outlets and lighting, including two fridges and a freezer, I was only at around 25% power draw. I even tested running the water heater with the well pump, and it only jumped up to about 70%. The Eco mode seems to work as advertised, and the generator adjusts its power output based on the load draw. Having used a traditional generator with extension cords before, this setup is much more efficient and runs significantly quieter. I plan to use propane primarily to avoid concerns about gas buildup in the system, especially since ethanol-free gas isn’t easy to find. Overall, I think the price is appropriate for the features and the clean energy it provides for my home.

igen 11000DFc

I have a igen4500 and love it. I was looking to use it to run 2 space heaters and a few snake cages during emergencies. I then realized biggest rule for generators is to make sure you don't get one that has to run at 80-100% of full capacity. Not only does fuel efficiency go way down but so does lifespan and noise level of generator. I debates on another igen4500 and parallel them or a Predator 9500. I watched some videos of parallel generators and even though power is there, noise level is much louder than just one big one. I have close neighbors....not worried about bothering them but letting them/anyone else know that I have one. So far this thing is AWESOME! If you have a igen4500 it is just its big brother. I was very impressed on how quiet it is. Also the compartments for adding oil or draining carb are so easy to get to. No nuts to unscrew, just twist the lock and pull clips. The carb already has drain tube and so does oil. After adding oil and non ethanol gas, it fired right up. Still in break in process but 2 hours in and great. Don't pay extra for less rated power from other brands. This has more power and cheaper, looks better and excellent options. I couldn't find any reviews on this model so hope this one helps.
