Great Inverter

Just purchased the iGen11000DFc to use as whole home generator. Haven't gotten a chance to use. Everything about it seems to be straight forward EXCEPT for how to turn off the gas.. I'm going to assume you would turn the fuel switch to propane but there is nothing in the Manuel to indicate this. I guess I will just have to run it and switch to propane (with no tank attached) to see what happens. If someone reads this that knows the answer please respond.

More than pleased with this product

I just received this product and love it already! Westinghouse included all the necessary tools and accessories along with easy-to-read instructions and user guide, resulting in Fast assembly and initial start-up. Unit started up on first try and was as quiet, if not quieter, when running as advertised. My wife was present during assembly and operation and is very excited about the ease of operation and commented how more secure and safe she now feels since she already understands how to operate!! We are two Senior Citizens who are very impressed!!

Starts right up

Generator started right up on the first try. Instructions could be a little more clear ... seems like a lot of buttons and displays on the generator ... and takes me a while to find everything in the user manual. Quite quiet. Like that I can use propane and not gasoline (which would just clog up the gears and needs additional maintenance every year like my snowblower does.)

Absolutely no problems.

I borrowed one of these from a friend to run my house after an ice storm. After the second day of use, I liked it so much I placed an order for myself. Absolutely outstanding performance. Ran my entire house (gas furnace and water heater) and was still able to run the electric dryer if need be. Great Product!

Easy setup, easy start, nice and quiet

While this was somewhat heavy I was still able to unbox it and set it up by myself with little difficulty. After adding the oil, I hooked it up to a handy propane tank and it fired right up. I was surprised at how quiet it was, the neighbors couldn't hear it from inside their houses and I was unable to hear it from the street. I hooked up a couple of hair dryers to simulate a load (under 50% because break in) and it wasn't noticeably louder. Yeah, this is still brand new to use but I think it's going to be great!

Easy to operate!

Using this as a portable home back up generator. Easy to run. Running it on propane, but have gasoline back up if the propane gets consumed. Controls are easy. I used to use a 4400 watt conventional generator. Starts readily. Have a 50 amp input circuit breaker with main breaker lockout slide - I'm not running my dryer, oven, or range, but I can run central AC (new 4 ton unit, variable speed, easy start up), fridge/freezer, and microwave. Plus TV, stereo, things to avoid the misery index... The generator says it'll hold just over a quart of oil, but be careful of overfilling. Make sure you have the generator on a level surface and I'm starting with about half a quart, letting the level equilibrate, then re-checking, adding in small increments until I get a level in the mid-range. Have only had 3 weeks and done break in - tropical storm in gulf now, will update as I use it more.

Better than I Expected

I liked some features I didn't expect: a drain hose for oil drain, a fuel drain hose for the carb float bowl, a threaded funnel for the oil fill, and a fuel spill ramp surrounding the gas cap. The generator was well packaged and easy to put into operation. Quieter than most comparable generators. I am still stumped by the remote start. But I'll figure it out.

Powerful generator! Easy set up.

I bought this on July 8th And just finished setting it up. Currently going through The process of break-in procedures, but it’s So much quieter than my Generac, portable gas generator love the digital data center on this generator and the features with the power output I shouldn’t have any issues powering everything in my house

Portable Quiet Standby Power

I needed to replace an Open Frame Generator. Purchased to primarily as a back-up power source. This is a large frame iGen and is very quiet considering the size. At 9K rated wattage, this is more than adequate to power my essential circuits during a power outage. Dedicated 50A outlet, selectable Dual fuel with parallel capability makes this unit the perfect Inverter Gen for my needs.

Worth the Wait!

After another hurricane and another extended power outage we knew that it was time to upgrade our existing generator. After a lot of research and customer satisfaction we decided on the iGen11000DFc. It seemed that a lot of people had come to the conclusion at that same time because the unit became out of stock. After waiting for about a month with daily checks it became available and we placed our order. After picking the unit up I got it home and began the unboxing and assembly. Everything was packaged very well and every tool that you need for assembly is included. The instructions are clearly written, easy to understand and complete assembly took no more than 10 minutes. When filling the oil (which is included) you will need a funnel. This surprised me since EVERYTHING else that you need is included but this is a minor thing. After assembly I rolled it into position (it rolls very well), attached the propane and fired it up. It is so much quieter than what we have become accustomed to - and now with it being an inverter I have no qualms with letting it run all night to keep up with a diminished power demand. I am not looking forward to losing power again but a part of me is looking forward to putting this iGen11000DFc to work when it does.
