Just picked this iGen2550c up today, filled it with oil and gas, and it started on the third pull. I ran for about an hour. About 20 min of that hour was with the fuel shut off to drain the carb! In the future when we store it, I'll probably just drain the carb into a clean container (such as a clean tin can) and dump the fuel back into the tank. We have a 6 circuit transfer switch that's been converted to 120v. This generator ran our natural gas boiler, fridge, chest freezer, and a few lights without a hiccup. This generator should be OK even if all the motors kick on simultaneously. I used a separate pass-through meter that displays volts, amps, and AC frequency to double-check readings. All the equipment listed above drew about 6 amps max (roughly 720 watts), with occasional spikes as motors kicked in. The AC was pretty steady at 59-60 hertz. Most importantly, the UPS power supply for our Internet connection didn't freak out and keep resetting like it would with our old generator. We'll try it with a small (4500 btu) air conditioner later. The A/C and boiler might be an either/or choice, but that's OK. Westinghouse did a lot of things right on this. Things I liked: - Easy pull start - about as much effort as a chainsaw. - Digital display and LED lighting to illuminate the panel - Lightweight. I can lift it with 2 fingers, and can carry it around like a heavy suitcase. - Easy access to oil drain (well - much easier than our previous generator, anyway) - Simple and obvious controls for starting, stopping. - Loved that it came with a parts breakdown booklet in case we ever need to find parts. - Nice that it included EXACTLY the amount of oil required. I marked the side of the bottle with a marker before I started filling. Now I have a ready-made measuring container that I can keep pre-filled in case we want to do a quick oil change during an extended power outage. - Liked that it included oil fill tube and other tools. Things I didn't like: - Side panels are easy to remove, but feel like the tabs might break in the near future. Learn to be careful with them - Carburetor drain with attached drain tube was nice, but the drain screw must have been tightened with an impact wrench. Almost stripped the screw trying to loosen it. Also, it would have better if you didn't have to remove one of the side panels to drain the carb. Maybe we'll cut a strategic hole in the side panel after the warranty runs out and re-route the drain hose so we don't have to pull the panel off. - A bit noisier than I had hoped for - but still not bad. Not Honda quiet, but not loud enough to disturb our neighbors. You can easily have a normal conversation next to it. Yes - 1 hour of runtime isn't much to form an opinion, but so far we're very happy with this solid little generator for the price.

I bought this generator to replace a Honda EU2000i that was a it short on power for my use and the inverter part of the Honda had failed. I found the iGen2500 to be equivalent in quietness, easy starting but significantly more features and power. I did not like the lack of a fuel gauge on my Honda EU2000i as it kept me guessing on the fuel level. I am totally satisfied with the quality of the iGen2500 build.

I've used this generator a handful of times now. I really like the features including the LCD display which shows the hours, fuel level, etc. The only problem I've run into is it didn't have enough surge watts to start my AC unit in my travel trailer. I had read reviews that said it would so that's a little disappointing. But besides that, it's been a good generator.

This generator has been great. Came with everything needed in the box, the directions were clear and it started right up. I originally purchased this generator for my cabin but after realizing how much electricity I need vs what I thought - I now plan on using this to power my home necessities during a power outage.

I have a small 30A travel trailer that can run just fine on 20A, as long as you don't turn it all on at once. This generator provides up to 18.3A (according to documentation) and worked perfectly to run 5000 BTU air conditioner and 2.7'cu fridge and lights, with only 25% load showing on the display. Unsure of exact dB level (claim is 53dB with no load) but very quiet. Simple operation and excellent documentation included (too rare these days).

We were looking for an inverter generator that we can use for our trailer. Most of the products available are too heavy to lift in an out of our truck to take with us on trips. We purchased two iGen2550c Westinghouse due to get the capacity we needed to run AC and other load in our trailer. Each one is less than 50 lbs. so I can move them. Noise level is pretty quiet for a generator. Start-up was super easy. Perfect for our need!

I recently went camping with my RV and had two dead batteries because of my own stupidity upon arrival. I fired up my generator the next morning and just about woke up any living creature within 500 yards. I knew right then I needed an inverter generator. After doing my research i was all set and ready to buy a honda eu2200i. Then I saw a video about Westinghouse generators and was intrigued. The noise and weight of the 2500 was similar to the Honda but at nearly half the price. i bought the iGen2500 and guess what, the iGen2500 powers my 15000 BTU AC unit no problem. Now I have a light weight quiet generator that is a powerhouse. I am so glad I bought this and highly recommend it. Started with one pull straight out of the box too. Buy one and try it for yourself you will not be disappointed.

I just received this generator yesterday, filled it with oil and gas and fired right up. It starts first pull, looks like good quality but still light weight. The pop off panels make it easy to access maintenance areas. I’m still breaking it in but it’s a good little unit so far and not very loud.

I totally over-researched portable inverter generators before finally settling on the iGen2500. I wanted something to have on hand for our next power outage and a portable inverter unit fit the bill nicely. Setup was a breeze with everything included in the box except for a standard Philips screw driver. The setup sheet and manual are clear and easy to understand. The unit is small and light enough to easily store on a shelf in the garage. I don't have much to compare it to, but the iGen2500 is pretty quiet. The design is clever with an easily-removable side panel to access the oil fill/drain and fuel bowls. As I don't anticipate using the iGen a whole lot, I really like that the fuel system includes a bowl drain and hose to quickly and easily prepare the unit for a return to storage. One of the features that helped me settle on the iGen2500 was the ability to run in parallel mode with another iGen if I ever need it. Westinghouse's parallel cord setup seems simpler and easier to use than others and provides the standard home 120v style outlets a homeowner would need. While not looking forward to it, I finally feel confident and ready for the next time we lose power.

Temporary Power during utility outage, camping, and for power tools when in remote locations. The unit fired up in a couple polls after removing from box filling with supplied oil checking spark plug air filtera and filling with fuel. Tested it with various electrical loads including multiple shop lights electric fan and a 1 hp air compressor. Has a nice display for fuel level power level voltage an estimated runtime all nice features. Verified the voltage and frequency with a true RMS fluke meter. Voltage reading was accurate within .5 V running at 121 to 122VAC and frequency was steady at 60.05 hz under varying load conditions conditions. Unit is quite quiet and had reasonable sound level at maximum load much better than older Open frame generator. Very nice and a good value compared to much more expensive Honda and Yamaha. Time will tell if it has the same sort of durability of those units.
