Customer reviews for SAMSUNG 55” Class U8000H Series Crystal UHD 4K Vision AI Companion Smart Tizen TV forExcellent picture and sound quality!
I decided it wasn't worth it to burn out another expensive iPad watching tv on it in bed at night so ordered this TV from Costco. It wasn't on sale but the price was competitive. I was kind of leary due to some reviews regarding the difficulty navigating the remote but after five minutes, I had that all sorted and now the remote is easy to navigate and quick to respond. The picture and sound quality are both excellent much to my delight. Costco has a 70 inch on sale using the same technology and I like the one I just purchased so much, I'm going to pick up the larger one I go Friday just to have on hand for my great room because I know the LG that's there now will choke eventually...

Find easier way to set up
Great price. But it should not take almost 3 hours to set up TV. Maybe I should’ve stuck with the previous Brand.

Great reaolution!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love all the picture stuff & it really needs no changing there & love how I can see everything so perfect. Sometimes tho it wont let me go back to my cable box except for in a small box on there. Idk what messing it up. I also dont like how I cant just restart the TV from the screen. There's no option to just restart it. I have to go thr u the trouble of unplugging it & thts really frustrating.
Enough with all the tech
They need to focus more on making tv’s to do tv things and less focus on spying on you. I can’t even figure out how to get antenna channels on it,too complicated.
Hi,<br /><br />Thank you for your review. To setup your antenna, please follow the below steps: <br /><br />1. First, make sure you have an antenna or a cable box already installed and set up to go. You may need to attach a coax cable to the antenna or box if it doesn't come with one. <br />2. When you're ready, connect the other end of the coax cable to the ANT IN port on the back of your TV. <br />3. Change the source on your TV to TV.<br />4. Once you are on the TV source, use the directional pad or arrow buttons on your remote to select Settings (All Settings). <br />5. Select Broadcasting, then Auto Program.<br />6. Select Start to begin. Then, select Air, Cable, or Both. Air is for antenna only, and Cable is for a cable box only.<br />7. Your TV will begin to scan for channels. After it's done, select Close to finish.<br /><br />I hope this helps! If you need additional support, Samsung is here to help. Samsung's 55" U8000H is a Disappointment
An enormous lane of Samsung 55" TV's lined the entryway into Sam's, all with large price tags $257!!! My eager mind smelling a deal, ignored my usual process of doing due diligence. Sam's made it easy by leaving several of their large wheeled carts right there! With help from Sam's employees, discreetly stationed nearby, I hauled the gigantic box to my car and home. Unpacking was easy, re-hanging the VESA wall mount wasn't, but done with help. Pro: Specific video specifications are not seen on the box. Some quick research for this review shows 3840x2160p, definitely 4K with a nice refresh rate of 60Hz and using HDR (High Dynamic range) technology for deeper color depth. You should know that no TV station will squander their available bandwidth on 4K and instead will chop up available bandwidth into sub-channels re-running old TV shows. However, your Blu-ray DVD player should provide dazzling video. Live network TV might provide 1920-1080 which will make football games and other events look better if you are moving up from an older TV. Cons: As with most flat screen TV's, the sound is awful as it comes from the back of the set. A sound bar or larger surround system is recommended. Samsung's U8000 TV's utilize the Tizen engine to gather off-air and cable-connected programs and the remote controller for it really sucks. Physically, it's difficult to operate and to read its labels. Turning on the TV does not start it in what you were watching when you turned it off. Initial setup should be carefully followed and some decisions need to be considered. This Korean company is well-known to gather information about your viewing habits, including what you watch and how long you watch it. Over time, Samsung is able obtain a lot of information about us and since the TV is connected to the Internet, it's easy for them to do that. Admittedly, I don't like the idea of a company mining for personal information. During the setup it's possible to drill down and turn off most of this and I'd advise you to do it. All in all, I'm borderline on taking it back, but the low price at Sam's, down from Samsung's original $599,make it worth keeping. Yeah...everything is more expensive. These comments are mine alone.
Hi Tom in PA,<br /><br />We appreciate you sharing your experience. To help you get the most from your TV and remote functions, you can download the full e-Manual and more by visiting Samsung’s website then navigating to: Support > Manual & Software > TVs & Home Theater. From there, you can search for and select your U8000HD TV model to view or download the available guides.<br /><br />The e-Manual & Remote Control Guide are also conveniently built into your TV: Settings > Support > Tips and User Guides.<br /><br />For additional guidance, your TV also includes Accessibility features designed to assist with navigation and remote use.<br />• Learn Menu Screen provides audio guidance for on-screen menus by announcing the name and function of each item as you scroll – without making any changes. This is especially helpful for users who are visually impaired or new to Smart TV menus. Enable via: Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Accessibility > Learn Menu Screen. To exit, press the Return key twice.<br />• Learn TV Remote helps users become familiar with the layout and function of each button on the Samsung remote. Not thrilled.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not the best TV I have ever had. Setup much harder than previous TV's. Bose sound bar does not work after I bought suggested adapter. Roku streamer works some of the time. No problem on my other three TV's. Base support does not appear very sturdy. Picture OK, but no better than any others.
Hi DeeM, Thank you for reaching out to us. Please know you can connect an external soundbar to the U8000HD TV via HDMI or Bluetooth. If you are looking for a Samsung TV with an optical port, we recommend the QN70H TV Series and above. Please know that the TV stand was solidly designed and extensively tested for stability. If your stand seems wobbly or looks crooked, please ensure the legs are installed correctly: “R” on the right, “L” on the left. The legs should slant outward toward the edges of the TV, and you should hear a “click” once they’re fully inserted. Also, make sure the TV is placed on a flat, level surface to avoid tilt or instability. For step-by-step setup, refer to the Installation Guide included in the box, or download it at: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/ Finally, if the image doesn’t quite match your preferences, there are several adjustments you can make to better suit your viewing environment and content type. First, please ensure your TV is running the latest firmware, as updates may include important picture quality enhancements. Go to: Home > Left directional button > Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now To explore picture mode options, navigate to: Home > Left directional button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode. Options include: • Standard – Ideal for general viewing • Dynamic – Brighter and more vibrant for well-lit spaces • Eco – Optimized for energy efficiency • Movie – Best for viewing in low light • Filmmaker Mode – Preserves the content creator’s intent and disables motion smoothing for supported content We hope these tips are helpful. If you need any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (8AM – 9PM EST Mon – Fri, 8AM – 6PM Sat – Sun), or reach us via text anytime.
