Bought this unit the other day after owning a GE microwave in the past. First off, the microwave is described as being stainless steel. The only part of the unit that is stainless is the front bezel. Other than that the unit is black paint. The door button couldn't be any flimsier and the childproof latch is a joke. Thank goodness you can disable that feature. The drive mechanism for the rotating plate relies totally on a poorly designed wishbone shaped wheel device. It already slips and barely circulates the plate. Can't imagine the plate being able to turn at all if you're defrosting a frozen roast or turkey breast. All in all, I'm not impressed in the slightest with this GE microwave.

This is our second GE Microwave, the first one lasted us sixteen years with no mechanical problems, not even a burned-out bulb. The only reason we purchased a new one was the paint on the inside roof area was peeling off. This new model has a few more features that our old one didn't have which is a plus. We have had very good luck with GE products over the years, and we hope this one will work just as good as our old one did. One con to the new machine is the opening and closing of the door is much louder.

Great looking appliance I actually have 2 of the same in my kitchen. This is replacing the one that failed after 18 years. Can’t say anything bad about them since you can’t get 18 years out of anything today. We were so glad our model was still available that I ordered a second one. Different model number but looks exactly the same so we will have a complete matched set replacing the 18 year old ones.

A+++ Our old Microwave kicked the bucket and we were in desperate need of a new one. This one is great! We wanted one that was on the larger side, not a small rinky dink counter size. this is perfect!!! Easy to use for 2 geezers that are technically challenged.

we purchased GE 2.0 cubic ft Microwave Model GCST20S1W1SS end of January 2025 to replace our old GE 2.0 cubic ft Microwave which stopped working. BUT - it lasted 12 YEARS !!! So pleased with this Model of GE Microwave that we bought the same one again !! Thank you GE !

So far, so good. The outside dimensions are a bit smaller than our previous Panasonic, but the inside seems at least as big. I wanted a white interior and I noticed that many of the other brands have switched to a gray interior. Easy to operate. My popcorn pops perfectly which is not always the case with microwaves.

Love this mic! This is the 2nd one I've purchased. The last one lasted me about 6yrs. I'm not sure if the 1st one was a 1.0. The capacity is big enough to put a whole chicken. It's easy to use. I love the sensor cooking, I use this daily. Will definitely buy again.

The microwave itself, I would rank a 5. It works quite well, and it easy to clean. The issue that dropped it down to a 4, is the manual. The included printed manual spent more page space dealing with legal warnings and cautions that I'm sure GE's lawyers required. It should've spent more space with "How to use" and "troubleshooting" information. It had a glitch that put the error message "FOOD" on the display. What the heck does that mean? We thought it meant that we needed to select a type of food button (potato, vegetable, etc). Instead, we fiddled with it for 30 minutes even unplugging it to clear the error...to no avail. So, we had to wait until the next day and spend 30 minutes on the phone calling the help line. Not cool.

Our last microwave lasted almost 20 years and was this model. We never had any issues with it- and it lasted a long time. The old one was still working, just old and rusting. This was a perfect replacement- it fit perfectly in the wall using the builder covers. So far, so good. Easy to use- has everything we need.
