Had a long power outage in an ice storm and my previous generator was really lacking in the power needed to run our home. The top ratings on this product drove me to it. Doesn’t really matter where you look, if they tested this product it was a top choice.

This is the biggest portable generator I could find. I have tested it and works great and came with everything besides gas. The biggest issues is getting my house wired to accept this much power and unloading it from the shipping pallets because it is very heavy.

I bought this generator to run my house and central a/c as a backup. The features that I like the most is duel fuel on it, so that if gasoline gets in to high demand I can switch and run it on propane plus you’ll never have to clean the carb if using propane only, super nice generator for the price.

We cranked it up when it arrived last summer( We live in SW Florida) and didn't need it (thank God) for hurricane season last year. Storm warning came in last night, so we cranked it up and after 3 attempts on the electric starter, she fired up! Let her run for an hour and she ran fine. We DID a test to our transfer switch / plate and ran the whole house for a few minutes and barely a drop in power. Our home is 2200 under air :)

Just hooked up generator to the house everything ran 1 big fridge freezer, deep freezer regular fridge freezer and mini fridge air conditioner and pool motor with lights all worked no issues and surprisingly quiet for the motor size and power ran on gas but have not tried propane yet. Feel much better about going without power now.

The truck delivered the generator yesterday. I had anticipated a struggle to get the feet and wheels on and get it ready for use. Turned out it was easy to get things going. The forethought was evident in how every step had been designed to make things easy. The instructions were clear and unambiguous. A few short minutes and we were ready to go. I'm very pleased with this purchase and look forward to reliable power.

I had to wait a long time to find one of these in stock, but eventually received one a week ago. The (large) box was placed in my garage by the delivery company. Assembly was easy sitting on it's wooden pallet. Getting it off the pallet is a different proposition. Be sure that you appreciate how heavy 600lbs really is. You need something capable of lifting that. At the limit, four reasonably strong men could probably take a corner each and lift it while someone pulled the pallet out from beneath it. I used the front loader on my tractor with the bucket removed. The weight is the only negative so far, but I knew that when I bought it. On the topic of weight, I would be very reluctant to try to move this down any sort of hill/slope by hand. I initially put just over a gallon of gas in the tank. It wasn't enough. Given the size of the tank, I wasn't surprised. Added 5 gallons more, and it started with no problem. Is it noisy? Well, any generator that runs at 3600 RPM is going to be noisy, but I have a 6kw generator that I have been using to power essential items, such as freezer, water pump, family room lights, microwave, kettle etc. This is, subjectively, no noisier. It is obviously a different sound, twin cylinder vs single, large cooling fan etc. But placed in the same location where I used the old generator, with the doors closed, it is practically inaudible, as was it's predecessor. Adding a second socket to power the rest of the circuits I was able to power the entire house and run different appliances, water heater, etc. I also tried out the AC, which fired up ok. I don't dare switch it into heat-pump mode though, it has twin 20kw heat strips, and my thermostat is a little too liberal with their use, and there is no way to disable them. One comment on using the less expensive 50A plastic covered cables. I tried them out in 65°F weather, and even at that temperature, they are very stiff. Mine also have right angled plugs rather than straight which makes plugging them into the generator difficult unless you do it right. The wheel gets in the way if you try to plug in directly. The trick is to lay the cable behind the wheel and plug in the front/leftmost first, then lay the next on top of that and plug in the second. It's easy this way (see the attached photo). Alternatively, pay a lot more for rubber covered cables and/or find cables with straight plugs rather than right angled. It's also worth noting that the plastic covered cables become MUCH more flexible when they are warm, so you might consider storing them indoors rather than next to the generator.

I purchased this generator to power my house and I also wanted the option of dual fuel, because with some of the power failures we have had in our area, gas stations could not dispense gasoline. This generator easily powered my home when I tested it. It easily supplied my two refrigerators, boiler, and a large air conditioning unit (the condensing unit and the air handler). This was done while running on propane. This generator is not noisy-probably as loud as a riding lawn mower. The generator is fits in the back of my garage, and for a man with a bad back, I had no problem maneuvering it.

This generator is not only the best investment we bought but now we have a piece of mind when our power goes out. We just went through Helena with a small generator that got us through but now with this beast we can power our whole house and not worry about overloading and cords running all over the house. We are getting this hooked up to the house so it will always be ready when needed. Thanks Westinghouse!! Btw runs like a dream and absolutely love that we can use gas or propane. Isn't very loud for how big it is.
