I wanted to be sure that I was prepared for the power outages in Houston Texas. We've experienced power outages in various conditions; winter and summer. I needed a generator that can handle powering my entire house and some. See, I have a neighbor that is a senior citizen that is taking care of her disabled daughter and I wanted a generator that could handle both houses. We both had an electrician to get our houses with the capability to connect to the generator and we were so excited to see both our houses running of of the Westinghouse Tri fuel 20000! I also turn on my A/C unit on this generator and it handled it like a champ! We were so impressed and believe that we are now prepared for any outage in our area. Thank you Westinghouse family. We ordered two of these expensive generators. They say not to exceed half load during the first 5 hours. So, we decided to run it with a small load for 5 hours to have it ready to do during a power failure. So far, it has randomly died a few times. When it does, it's as if it tries to recover, but then dies and you can re-crank it after about 30 seconds. This is not going to work during all night power failures. Additionally, neither until had the washers in the box for the axels, or the trickle charger for the batteries. These are 20,000 watt units. They have no pull rope, so if the battery is dead when you need it, you're out of luck. They're supposed to come with a charger that can be left attached so the battery is hot when you need it. This is referenced throughout the manual, yet neither of my units arrived with one. If they keep dying, If you buy one, use your American Express card so you're protected.

Installed wheels, oil, & connected battery... Unit fired right off. Used continuously for two days (on propane), not one issue. Ran A/C, two refrigerators, computer, lights... Best investment I've made in a long time. Only drawback is it's made in Vietnam, not American made.

I was looking for a Dual Fuel Generator and Westinghouse had what I was looking for. It is powerful enough to run my entire house during a power outage. One drawback is that the oil dipstick is hard to reach and not easy to get out or put back in again. Other than that so far I am really glad that I purchased this generator.

I purchase this last week and received today. Everything came in great condition - shipper was 5 stars as well. Assembly was easy. Hooking up the negative cable on the battery took a few tools, but item came with some tools as well. The instructions says something about needing two persons, this has to do with getting the generator off the wooden crate it was sitting on. Well one person can do it, my solution was with small ramp from some scrap wood, probable the most difficult of the assy. Started up 1st try on gasoline per instructions, same with fob. I still have to test with propane (my propane 5 gal tank had rusted on to the past cable - soaking with WD-40). I will be wiring to house in couple weeks ahead with licensed electrician. But so far am very delighted.

Only complaint is it is transfer switch ready. But you have to use arduino or do some serious research to get the st switch wire functions to be able to connect this to a real ATS unit. I use an Eaton ATS and have an arduino to accept the remote start/stop wires on the ATS unit to send a three second ground out pulse to simulate the push of the start/stop button. A slight pain in the but if you don't know coding but there are enough open source fully functional code scripts that you can utilize to make it work. It makes no sense why they claim it to be transfer switch ready but then don't allow you to use the startup feature of a real automatic transfer switch. Instead they only offer the st switch which doesn't utilize the 50amp out, doesn't give you a one minute timer before cutting the generator on or off incase it's just a flicker vs an outage, and is way overpriced for its overall lack of usefulness given it wasn't even designed to be used at the recommended distance from your house. Sure you could use it in conjunction with an ATS to start the generator and just have a 9watt led light bulb plugged into it to get it to turn on and stay on but that does rob you of a few watts and I don't know the long term effects for using that and the 50amp plug. From what I have heard it can cause your breaker to trip on startup rendering the whole purpose of an ATS useless. They should make a plug in module for the ST switch plug that you could plug your industry standard two wire remote start/stop wires from an ATS switch. (Hey Westinghouse that suggestion is for you.). That said I got mine to work using an arduino and have my generator permanently mounted (wheels removed) on a concrete platform with an aluminum weatherproof case that is ventilated outside so there is no concern of it auto starting inside the garage. This portable unit provides enough power to run my living room, microwave and fridge, water heater, well pump, septic pump, my master bedroom, and one of my heat pump a/c units. I also went and had my heat pump breakers bridged so I can switch between my main level one my upstairs unit for night time running. I have my unit connected to a 250 gallon buried LPG tank but I do run the unit first and foremost with gasoline. I have a timer alarm that sends me a buzzer and I requires the fuel switch to be inside my ATS load center panel so I don't have to walk outside to switch the fuel. This generator is very good in that you can swap from gasoline to propane without restarting it. To avoid any surges I have three (yes three) whole home surge protectors. One is in the ATS load center, one is in my main service panel, and the other is on my service entry. It is overkill to a degree but if you have ever lost power you know that you will get a surge from the outage and switching to and from the generator power. Of course if you have a batter backup you can use an AGS module that starts the generator when your batter falls below the battery voltage threshold. You might be wondering why use a portable? Well when my surplus diesel finally died I quickly found that the availability of them was hard to come by and new diesels started at 15k. Even standby LPG generators start at 2k more than these amd usually less power. Plus these generators truly are the king of portables not to mention they are just one heck of a generator. They are so good while not recommended for medical equipment (no one officially or on the record recommends a generator for this purpose.). Many people around the world trust Westinghouse even over Hondas to power their small medical equipment. Just check the specs and you will see why. I love these so much I am saving to buy a second and run a second to permanently connect the other ac. Anyway highly recommend these.

I just received my generator. I use it for work. Had a smaller on that was getting a little old. Always wanted a dual fuel but was scared to pull the trigger. Both fuels seem to be working just fine. It's a hoss. The guy asked me that delivered it how was i going to get it off the truck. I said im not

I bought this a month ago and have only tried it out once. It started on the second try and I only had to push the button once. It's not the quietest generator but it is not too loud. It's very easy to use and set up. I hope I won't need it next winter but I should be set when I do.

This portable generator is everything the description says it is. It runs our 2000sq ft home with no problem. It doesn't drag when our air conditioner kicks on, it's tough. It will definitely serve it's purpose during hurricane season in SWLA!! Plenty of outlets for extra plug-ins. It is surprisingly quiet for as big as it is. We have no complaints and are super happy with our purchase. Pretty sure we will be putting it to the ultimate test during hurricane season. I have no worries, it's going to provide the power to my home and then some. Thank you Westinghouse!!

This generator is LARGE !!, Uncrated ,filled with oil, Filled up fuel tank, connected Battery, Fired Up Instantly !!, Everything functions as it should. Running at approx 50% Load it will run our whole house, Heat Pump, Stove, Microwave, Washer & Dryer, All appliances.... This thing doesnt even struggle a bit.. Bring On The Storms !!!
