Received my WGen 12000DF today and it arrived perfectly shipped and in pristine condition. It was only a few simple steps (attach the wheels, add oil and gas, and attach the battery) before my new generator was up and running. Runs smooth, supplies plenty of power from it's many receptacles, and isn't loud. Next step is a transfer switch for the house and I'm complete and ready for the winter. As many have said, you have to be thoughtful in how you uncrated because of its weight. I used a set of ramps and a floor jack and was able to get it off the pallet without issue. Easy to follow instructions, and it fired right up. so far, I have only tested it with small electrical appliances, as I have an electrician coming later this week to set me up to run the house. Be sure to check the GFI trip in the outlets, mine were tripped from the factory. The build quality and aesthetics are great! It is as loud as you would expect a V-twin engine to be.

When I was looking for a powerful generator that could take care of our needs after a hurricane, I turned to our electrician who recommended the WG 9500DF. He was right. The 9500DF is easy to operate and delivers power big time. We couldn't be happier with this product.

Overall this is a great unit. I also own a Generac GP15000E. All things being equal, I think the Generac is better built and will most likely have a longer life. However, this unit has dual fuel capability, smart switch technology, remote start, and a battery charger. All are the reasons, I went with this unit, and I'm not disappointed.

After the last power outage, finally decided to go ahead and buy a generator for the house. After doing our research we chose the Westinghouse GEN 9500. The assembly and set up was very easy and everything worked perfectly after the initial setup. . Haven't had to use it for an emergency yet but I'm ready!

Carbon monoxide sensor renders the unit almost unusable. Any running engine will emit carbon monoxide. As soon as the sensor recognizes any amount within inches of the unit, your out of business. Mandatory disablement. Totally absurd that the fuel system cannot be drained. I would really like to know why Westinghouse would intentionally ignore such an important factor. The unit was designed to accept a convenient trickle charge, but for some reason, there is no explanation of how to use it. The overall unit has a lot of fantastic engineering design, but lacks on a few of the obvious.

The registration WEB page asked me to give a review. I went to Bolton, Ontario to pickup my generator. I returned to Quebec without any problem. The WGen20000 is very heavy, with 580 pounds. The packaging is well done to protect it from scratches and debris on the road. It seems to be of good construction and placed on a very resistant steel frame with a good coat of resistant paint. In a month or two, I will be ready to make a review, when i will start the generator. I bought a Generac 200 Amp, Automatic Transfer Switch to use all the power from this 28000 Watt in peak power. I just ordered a Remote Monitor ATS Amf Generator Controller to monitor electric outage from Hydro-Quebec. It was more easy to install for whole house and more practical when I'm away. With this new controller, i will install all the sensors i need, to monitor this air cooled gas engine. I will see the engine temperature on each cylinder, the oil pressure, oil temperature, Engine revolution (RPM), Battery voltage, Alternator amperage, Hour meter for each electric outage, Oil change monitoring and some other engine failures ​

Set up was very easy, nothing was damaged and all parts were included. You have to fill oil, which was provided. the first time starting was with gas and it started with no issues. I used propane and the engine sounded a little strange, there may be some setting that need to be adjusted or the regulator may need to be broken in. The unit is large but is easy to move with 5 gal of gas in the tank. I gave it 4 stars because of the sound it made with propane.

We ordered this online, and were very pleased with how quickly it was delivered! There are several features that we really like, including Dual Fuel and Remote Start. Also has 713 cc V-twin OHV 4-stroke engine, overload protection, and multiple hookups from 50 amp to usb ports. The handles and wheels make it portable. Plus there's also a lifting bracket.

Very pleased with my purchase of the Westinghouse Model Wgen9500DF Generator! Starts right up and runs great on either gas or propane with plenty of power for important appliances, furnace, AC units along with TV, radio to keep up to date on information if needed! Has 50Amp plug for the high amp use too. Start or stop with remote from even inside the house. I recommend this unit!
