WGEN12000DF REVIEW

Overall this is a solid product with a lot of features that the competitors do not provide. There are a couple of things that Westinghouse can improve on this product. 1. Off the pallet, after installing the wheels, the wheels should be touching the ground so you can roll the generator off the pallet. This is very heavy (352lb). With the wheels not touching the ground, it took 3 adults to lift if up and move it off the pallet. 2. The dip stick is in a very awkward location. Plus, it is very hard to pull it off and good luck in trying to push it back in. other than that, it is a great product with lots of functions.

Very powerful generator

Recently purchased the WGen14500dfc and it is an absolute beast of a generator. After breaking the generator in gave a good real world test. Running through an panel interlock kit I was able to do a test run which amazingly it power my entire house. Two mini split heat pumps, oil furnace, well pump, three refrigerators, 2 freezer, security cameras system, and entertainment system. Never showed signs of of struggling at all, even when I flipped on the electric hot water heater towards the end to see if it could. Also was powering a detached garage as well during testing. Break in period of 5 hours at around 25% to 40% load and then 40 minutes of probably maxed out at times during testing hooked into the home panel. It appears it roughly consumed close to 7 gallons which falls pretty much close to specs. While running the entire house all sensitive electronics power up with zero issues including a router that doesn't even power up of the power is dirty. Zero flickering or pulsing of LED lights throughout the house. Definitely a two person job unpacking and getting of the pallet which it is secured to very well. Assembly is pretty easy by just attaching the lifting bar and the wheels which can be done while it's on the pallet. Generator itself appears well designed and of good quality components. Oil filter, dipstick, and oil fill cap are easily accessible which makes it easy to maintain. Sound level seems to be slightly less than competitive brands. The V twin sounds so much better than a single engine generator that I've owned in the past. So far the WGen14500dfc appears to be a solid back up source when the power goes out comparable to a permanent standby generator. With the ability to be connected directly to your propane system too.

WGen14500 Dual fuel generator.

I bought the WGen14500 Dual fuel generator a month ago. I had a transfer switch professional put on my house. My electrician and I set up and tested the generator with propane. I was very impressed. Very well many and extremely user friendly and well designed.

Awesome generator

I bought this to power house in case of outage, tri fuel keeps us with power no mater what happens, set up was easy and fired right up on propane, still in break in period and am going to try natural gas as I plan on that fuel as primary, this size is perfect for full 50 amp capacity. Plus this unit has a clean sine wave. Highly recommended

Lots of power and options

Just received this generator and had minimal assembly to do. Although the wheel axle assembly was different than in the diagram, it was it was easy enough to figure out. Overall I am very pleased with this big boy. We live in hurricane territory and have power outages that can last for days. Although I hope I never need to use it, it will provide all the power I need .

Power and Versatility in one

Overall, I’m very impressed with this Westinghouse generator in terms of both the amount of power it provides, expansion capabilities, quality construction, and versatility of use. I bought this generator to be primarily used for home power in case of emergency. With up to 12,500 watts of surge power and 9500 watts running power with gas, it can handle pretty much my entire house. I LOVE the dual fuel options, as I usually have plenty of propane I can use as well. Even though the surge and running wattage is a bit lower when using propane, I still have plenty of juice to power the necessary items when the grid goes down. Esthetically, the generator is very handsome, with neat lines and logical functionality. I will be using the 30 amp/240 volt plug with a house transfer switch for now, but having a 50 amp/240 volt plug allows me to upgrade in the future. Before I bought this generator, I did quite a bit of research. This generator, the Wes9500DFc is by far the best for the money. I would highly recommend this generator if you’re looking for one of the best that combines awesome looks with high performance. POWER…VERSATILITY…QUALTY…you get it plus more with this Westinghouse 9500 DFc generator.

Capable Monster

Used for a three day power outage in a large all electric house. Generator kept shutting down the first night, so I changed the oil guessing that may be the problem. After that, performed flawlessly. Very heavy unit, but was able to unpack and set up alone using ramps to get it off the packaging base.

Neat Generator

Between owning a WGen3600DFc and this one, they both are on the heavy side so a two person lift is recommended. I like the protective covering on this model unlike the open body on the WGen3600DFc. I have not used this one yet but I expect to have the same results as my other generator. I bought this one as it runs in less fuel but for longer. Both generator are relatively the same size.

Great features

This is the second Westinghouse generator I have purchased this month. The dual fuel capability for monthly exercise of the engine was a key feature as well as the low THD. I have owner Generac and a variety of box brands and the workmanship and features for the price make them a high value purchase.

Purchase online of Westinghouse WGen12000DFc

I bought this generator less than 2 weeks ago and my electrician will be installing a switch panel for it within the week. I'm excited to have it hooked up. The reviews I have seen about it rate it has one of the best of its class. I don't want a power failure, but when I do I'll feel very confident that I'll continue to have the power I will need.
