I bought this generator about a year ago when we were out of electrical power for about 8 days after a storm. This replaced my existing dual fuel generator that quit working after a long service career. I like everything about this generator. It starts easily, has a long run time, is quieter than I expected, powers almost my entire house. I waited to review it until I used it for a while so I could determine if I liked it or not. Great purchase.

Just recently purchased the 12500w/9500w tri fuel generator, I haven't put it to work as of yet but will be shortly. After putting it together I tried to sync the key fob but was unable to get it to link up to the unit otherwise I may have given 5 stars. Will update after some use.

Well packaged and crated!. Easy wheel assembly, quick start. Still in break-in, but light load-obviously the unit did not flinch. Found the battery area a little cramped to attach the negative terminal. Runs really smooth!. Would like to see some scoring on the dipstick to see the oil level a little easier. Would recommend to other homeowners. Lost mine during Hurricane Ian.

I bought October of 2019. I was a little Leery about the purchase by some of the reviews about battery issues. But when I took it home I had no problems of the such. Fire on second attempt and seems to work well. A little loud but it was Expected for a generator of that size. Appears to be well built.

There is a lot packed into this unit. This is a heavy duty unit from what I can tell. Initial impressions: Pros: It's duel fuel, which was the primary reason I purchased it. The push button start is nice. I just need to make sure all the switches are in the correct positions before starting. There is enough wattage to power those things that need to be powered in the event the power goes out. Cons: The battery comes unhooked so in order to hook the battery up, I had to take the wheel back off to get at the screws to get the battery out. The oil dipstick is designed in a way where I didn't notice if the rubber piece on the stick is supposed to be inserted all the way in or if it stops up to a point with some exposure. The temperature recommendations say the lowest to go is 5 degrees F. If the power goes out in Wisconsin on a cold winter day, it's below the 5 degree threshold so I won't know how the generator will work when it's that cold. Time will tell how this will work as this is just an initial view after setting it up today.

I bought this in October 2024. I received it in December because it was back ordered. I bought it for a home back up power supply. I just got my transfer switch installed and the generator is now ready for it's initial start up and break in. I love it so far but tomorrow 2/6/25 will tell me if I made a good choice. I will be using propane for fuel.

We have on several generators over the years. Live in the gulf coast area where hurricanes are normal. This is the first hole home generator we have purchased. So far everything looks great. I would highly suggest anybody that needs a reliable power to get one

I spent quite a bit of time researching generators. Most generators on the market have THD from 10-20% which is not safe for electronics with sensitive circuitry (just about everything made today has sensitive circuit boards). This Westinghouse generator has less than 5% THD which is sensitive electronics safe. The last thing you want to do during a power outage is damage your computer, tv or appliances by feeding them power from a subpar generator producing a high THD. The generator itself is well made and the design appears well though out. It cranks easily with the push button on the panel or with the provided wireless key fob. The power output is enough to power our entire house.

I read a lot of reviews, but I went ahead and purchased this unit. It came to me with little instructions so I have to add a few of my own. You have to make sure you turn the battery switch on and off after usage or you'll drain out the battery. You have to make sure You charge the battery. I would purchase Pennzoil 5W 30 synthetic oil in bulk and change it frequently. And most of all and most important put gas saver mixed with your gas, I recommend STA – BIL fuel stabilizer this will keep your gasoline stable for up to 24 months, but I would run it out and into your car after 12. Lastly, when you're done using your generator, turn the gas off and let it run out of your carburetor, don't leave gasoline laying around in your carburetor. It's not a good idea. I've had several motorcycles mostly dirt bikes, and through the years, I've had to take them apart only to clean, clean, carburetors out and put them back together again because of the carburetors and jetting work …. Know what you know what you're getting into basic concepts this is not hard stuff, but it will make your generator run the first time, run every time you need it and it will stay with you for life. This is a great great generator.

Just delivered yesterday, minimal assembly, well documented. Started first time, on the first crank (propane, so far). Was happy with my old, smaller generator but it was time to upgrade and I expect this 12000DF will deliver. Electrician hired to wire interlock took one look and was impressed.
