Great generator

I purchased this generator to replace my Dayna generator 4400 watt 9000 surge. This is a much needed upgrade I have been putting off for a while. I’ve only ran it for a hour to break it in. I had a 6 horsepower compressor running and it didn’t phase the generator but I hooked it up to my old generator and it pulled it down. It will be a big difference the next power outage we have.

Works well, but a minor gripe.

Bought this at the beginning of summer in order to ready for what has become annual multiple Public Safety Power Shutoffs. They last two to three days. We have also experienced one or two multi-day outages during each snow season here in the Sierra Foothills. We bought the generator from a local vendor and they delivered it all set up and ready to go. Had to have an electrician install a transfer box. We not only need the power to run our appliances and lights, but our well water is dependent on electrical power, as is our septic system. It works great!! We chose propane so we wouldn't have to wait in long, long lines that appear at the gas station every time their is a large power outage. One complaint: It is very difficult to drain the oil in order to change it. On my first try I made a mess on the floor next to the machine. I'm trying to jury-rig something to catch the oil and move it safely to a storage container. Westinghouse should either rethink the design so there is room to get it out safely, or provide some kind of adapter to get the oil past the obstructions.

Solid generator with great features

I bought this generator as a backup for a possible power outage at our home. The generator seems very solidly built and should serve us well. I was particularly impressed by the dual fuel functionality, which will provide multiple options for use of either gas or propane. The only thing that I was surprised about was that the unit did not come with pneumatic tires which I had expected because of its heavy weight. My only hope is that the plastic tire/wheel (never-flat) combination will provide good service without cracking and breaking. Only time will tell about that feature.

Love it. Has everything I wanted

I just received my generator. I use it for work. Had a smaller on that was getting a little old. Always wanted a dual fuel but was scared to pull the trigger. Both fuels seem to be working just fine. It's a hoss. The guy asked me that delivered it how was i going to get it off the truck. I said im not

Just installed, so we will see how it goes

So far so good! I hooked up my home to this generator for emergencies. It seems to have no problem running everything in our home and swimming pool pumps - excluding our A/C and heater. We have a 4,300 sf home. The pool pumps are important in the event of a freeze - they keep the pipes from freezing and busting. I feel much better having this generator in place!!

Big Generator

Just took delivery of this behemoth and have not had the opportunity to fire it up but it is a beast! I am sure it will keep our home powered through future hurricanes. We just went through 5 days without power due to hurricane Beryl with a smaller generator that just provided basics. We are looking forward to having AC during the next outage!

This generator is a beast !

This generator has all the power I need to run a multi purpose welder and a grinder and what ever else I can plug in . This generator is very heavy duty and I am very impressed with this product . I have not tried it on my house to see if it will run it but from running other things there is no doubt in my mind that it want.

Pre review - Easy Warranty Registration

The registration WEB page asked me to give a review. I went to Bolton, Ontario to pickup my generator. I returned to Quebec without any problem. The WGen20000 is very heavy, with 580 pounds. The packaging is well done to protect it from scratches and debris on the road. It seems to be of good construction and placed on a very resistant steel frame with a good coat of resistant paint. In a month or two, I will be ready to make a review, when i will start the generator. I bought a Generac 200 Amp, Automatic Transfer Switch to use all the power from this 28000 Watt in peak power. I just ordered a Remote Monitor ATS Amf Generator Controller to monitor electric outage from Hydro-Quebec. It was more easy to install for whole house and more practical when I'm away. With this new controller, i will install all the sensors i need, to monitor this air cooled gas engine. I will see the engine temperature on each cylinder, the oil pressure, oil temperature, Engine revolution (RPM), Battery voltage, Alternator amperage, Hour meter for each electric outage, Oil change monitoring and some other engine failures

Peace of Mind!

I had to wait about a month for this generator to come back in stock, but it is exactly what I needed. It connects quite easily to my natural gas meter outside of my home. And during testing, I was able to very easily run the entire downstairs power load of my home, which includes a built in freezer and refrigerator, a wine chiller, and separate refrigerator in my garage, plus a gas range and electric oven, dishwasher, a 5-ton AC unit and all the lights!

This thing is a beast!

Initial review is this is a beast. If your looking for a roll into your truck and go, this is not the one. It's heavy and huge! With that said, ran it for the initial run in period with my 30ft travel trailer as the load, AC on and everything else electric I could turn on and it didn't even blink. Startup of this generator was as easy as checking oil, adding gas and pressing the start button. I haven't seen the problems others have whined about. If I do ill update at a later time. Follow the instructions, which are easy to follow, and you are good to go. The only thing I did find noticeable is it is a tad on the louder site, but it is a V twin engine and again high in watts and amps so to be expected. When the power goes out to the house, don't particularly care as it's outside.
