I purchased this to run my entire house after Texas' Snowmagedden. Another event happened in 2023 whereby the 12000DF ran for 48 hours without incident. I had to manually balance the load through various breakers but my house was warm, all the appliances worked and we were comfortable. This is a very heavy unit so don't think that it is easily portable. Great unit.

We just got our Westinghouse WGen1200DF today! My handy husband had no problem putting the wheels on and getting it mobile. We live in a rural area on a steep hill and can get trapped in icey weather. Finally, this year I can have peace of mind about that possibility. Thank you!

At least in my area the shipment deliver company was amazing. My house isn't probably the easiest to access, but I did have a wide open shop spot next to the door. They were able to use an electric pallet jack to get me inside the garage door area. I'm Terms of the product, you're getting a unit with AVR & THD <= 5%, which I doubt you're getting any utility promises for less THD in comparison. It's heavy, but seems easy to move with the wheels. I was able to get a friend to help me get it off the pallet, good news is the pallet design keeps it secure. Probably easier ways with a shop winch to get it separated. It is a dual fuel, I know honda doesn't offer any models with that or tri fuel in which im aware. 240v/40+ amps, which is essential in my opinion for home backup. You probably should be smarter with isolating loads prior to putting a generator on anyway, I figure for as many outages as we get in the area that an ats is overkill. Only planning on running it on propane. When you see it in person, you'll be happy with the investment.

Passed all tests and ready to install. I like the "smart" feature of dropping to idle with the electrical load comes off. I also like the oil cooler and oil filter location. Solid and well thought-out design. So features and construction rate 5 stars. If it lasts as long as the 5kw it replaces (20 years), I'd give it 10 stars.

I have owned a dozen generators and dealt with thousands of them in my 33 Army career. This generator has every feature one could ever want and everything is well organized and solidly constructed. It was a breeze to set up and use. I sm ready for whatever the winter brings.

ITS STARTING FUNCTIONS ARE VERY GOOD, I WANT TO USE IT TO POWER A SOLAR SYSTEM IN CASE THE BATTERIES DROP TO A LOW LEVEL AND THERE IS LITTLE SOLAR PRODUCTION. I TESTED IT TODAY AFTER I RECEIVED IT YESTERDAY, DAMAGED BY THE PACKAGING THAT ARRIVED EVERYTHING TURNED OVER AND EVERYTHING WAS DAMAGED AT THE BASE OF THE EQUIPMENT, BUT I ORGANIZED IT TO BE ABLE TO GET IT WORKING. AFTER GETTING IT TO WORK I TRY TO CHECK A LOAD TO THE SYSTEM OF 20 KWp AND I DID NOT EXCEED 14.9 KWp IN A FEW WORDS THIS IS NOT WHAT THEY SELL, THEY SAY IT IS 20 KWp RUNNING AND THIS IS NOT TRUE. I ALREADY CALL AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER TO COME TO VERIFY IT BECAUSE IF IT DOES NOT GIVE WHAT IT SHOULD GIVE IN NORMAL RUNNING OPERATION, I AM NOT INTERESTED AT ALL AND I WILL RETURN THEM AS IT CAME, DAMAGED, I HAVE 4K CAMERAS ALL OVER MY PROPERTY AND EVERYTHING WAS RECORDED AND CAPTURED BY ME WITH MY PHONE ADDITIONALLY. REALLY AT THIS MOMENT I FEEL SCAMED. THE MACHINE IS NOT AMERICAN AS THEY SAY, IT IS FROM CHINA, DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ.

I just received this generator. I am in process of getting everything set up. My son has a smaller version that works great. We have had several power outages that made us need to consider this purchase. Hoping that we don't need to use it often. But know that it will run all necessary parts of our home when needed.

The item was packaged very well. No chance the delivery personnel can damage it unless they drop it from the floor of the box truck. Simple instructions to follow on unpacking and set up before initial start. The item is a beast, very well made, and it started right up on the first go. Tested the outlets with multi meter on both Gas and Propane fuel. I haven't plugged it in to my house inlet to put actual home loads on it but so far so good.

I purchased the WGEN 12000DF a week ago and have set it up and run it. Everything went great with the setup and running. The only issue I have is the lift bar is too short for the frame opening. This does not interfere with using the generator and I will check with Westinghouse as to a resolution to this. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and will recommend it to others.

This generator is a beast with the power to sustain my home during major power outage. The unit is able to run a 4 ton ac and hot water tank at the same time. This equates to 7500 watts with both running. Plenty power left for fridge and other minor house appliance. My ac does have the soft start by hyper engineering. The generator is well built. Two issues I did encounter is when I un-packaged the unit the carbon canister was detached from the bracket. Might of sustained rough transportation. The gas thank flange on the left side was slightly bent. You can tell because the bolt holding the tank same location as canister is bent. Gas not leaking and tank appears to be intact. Another minor annoyance is I cant get the generator out of my rear garage door. It is a standard door. I have to remove the door to get the unit out. If the door opened all the way it would be a tight fit. My door opens at 90 degree angle before hitting the wall. With door removed I have maybe 1/8 inch on each side of the wheels before it hits the door jamb. Did find a black screw in the bottom of the pallet and could not figure out where it came from. The screw is the same as the ones that hold exhaust heat shield together. Maybe accidentally left in the box during packing.
