I use this generator daily on the farm. It works great. I like the low idle feature to conserve fuel. However, one of the 30a receptacles has gone out after 9 months, and on low idle it tends to burn out capacitors on compressors when using the low idle mode.

Was easy to get ready to start. Good manual, except parts diagram needs magnifying glass to read. Big wheels make this heavy unit easy to move on the smooth level, but needs second person to help on grass, gravel, or slopes. Started on LP first try and runs well. Like the oil drain hose update. Am ready for the next power outage.

Very impressive generator as far as size and features for the money. Ordered from a big box store and was packaged well and undamaged. Minimal assembly. Took a bit to get/stay running, but runs great now. Looks well built. I plugged in my freezer, fridge, pellet grill and coffee maker at the same time with no issues

This unit replaced a smaller 7500W Westinghouse generator which was gas only. Convenience of having dual fuel and low THD (cleaner power over the last unit) was the selling point. The additional power capability over the last unit. The only drawbacks are this unit is slightly louder than the 7500W and twice the weight. The WGEN12000DF has the “Smart Idle” feature the can be turned on/off via a switch on the control panel. Tested this out at no load condition, and it significantly reduces the engine RPM, in turn reducing the noise. The documentation and online photos have no mention of this added feature, which I would assume might be a newer feature for the 2021+ models.

I just received my generator on July 1st and had to use it on July 8th. Worked perfect so far. Will test the true capacity later as I was only able to use extension cords this time but will have it running on the larger 50 amp output next time. Works great on gas and propane. Although the propane did not last as long as suggested but gas lasted longer than suggested.

I purchased the 28,000 this season because it's one of the only portable generators capable of powering my entire property. I like that I can run the house off the 50amp outlet and run the well pump off the 30amp outlet at the same time.. without over working the machine. Now this is not a long term review, because I have not ran the machine longer than the break in period. But my unboxing, assembly and break in of what I received has been impressive. The packaging is proper, on a hand built wood platform, adequate for the massive size and weight. The assembly was simple and not full of unnecessary steps to get the generator ready. This is important, because maybe you need power immediately and don't want to fart around.. and I like that the machine came with a quality break in oil, looks like a Castrol product. The first start up was without issue. And for a 999cc engine, this thing is surprisingly quiet. So far I am very pleased. I have faith that the quality I feel in my hands, will be dependable when the power is out. Don't plan to lift this without 4 of your best men.. your gonna need an equipment hook.

I did thorough research between this generator and other manufacturers. The WGen12000DF offered the better options such as the 5% THD along with the fuel efficiency of 11 hours @ 50% load. The auto idle feature is great too. You don't get these many features with competitor models. It arrived within a week due to shipment. No damages to shipment. Came with oil and battery. Connected the battery, added oil and fuel. The generator fired after a couple cranks. I got it registered for warranty and am ready for hurricane season here in Florida.

Just delivered yesterday, minimal assembly, well documented. Started first time, on the first crank (propane, so far). Was happy with my old, smaller generator but it was time to upgrade and I expect this 12000DF will deliver. Electrician hired to wire interlock took one look and was impressed.

This generator has plenty of power for a single phase unit. It has plethora of Plugs that cover most of your possible 120/240 volt needs. All breakers are toggle breakers except for the 2 breakers for the 4 gfci circuits they are push to reset. Not a light weight unit at a little over 500 pounds. 2 guys to ramp it into the back of a pickup.

Just got this generator for back up power for the house and have done the initial break in. Have plugged it into the house and it ran the AC with lights and TV etc. with no issues. So far working as we planned. We lose power in the summer months regularly so hopefully this will keep us going
