Power to spare for entire residence

This generator is a beast with the power to sustain my home during major power outage. The unit is able to run a 4 ton ac and hot water tank at the same time. This equates to 7500 watts with both running. Plenty power left for fridge and other minor house appliance. My ac does have the soft start by hyper engineering. The generator is well built. Two issues I did encounter is when I un-packaged the unit the carbon canister was detached from the bracket. Might of sustained rough transportation. The gas thank flange on the left side was slightly bent. You can tell because the bolt holding the tank same location as canister is bent. Gas not leaking and tank appears to be intact. Another minor annoyance is I cant get the generator out of my rear garage door. It is a standard door. I have to remove the door to get the unit out. If the door opened all the way it would be a tight fit. My door opens at 90 degree angle before hitting the wall. With door removed I have maybe 1/8 inch on each side of the wheels before it hits the door jamb. Did find a black screw in the bottom of the pallet and could not figure out where it came from. The screw is the same as the ones that hold exhaust heat shield together. Maybe accidentally left in the box during packing.

Awesome Generator

I bought this a month ago. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I research many generators and read reviews on them, including this one. So, I purchased this one. This generator is a powerhouse and it has many great features. If we ever have another storm like we did in Texas, I know this will be an asset to us, as well as other reasons to use it.

Best bang for the buck.

I did a lot of research on my needs to power my home in an emergency.I determined the 14500 watt model was just what I needed. The packaging was great and did its job, the build quality of the wgen line is top notch.Ive already owned a wgen 9500df and used it throught 2 hurricans in Florida.I wanted a little more power so I upgraded to the wgen14500df.I would highly recommend Westinghouse Generators.Alot of the cheaper models from other manufacturers use aluminum windings instead of copper. You get what you pay for.

Easy to setup and use

I ended up picking this model because of the low THD rating. What I was very surprised on was how quick it was shipped and delivered. The delivery guy even helped moving the carton through the ice/snow to get it to my garage! Setup went smooth and am in the process of performing the motor break-in period. Starts on LP and gasoline have been flawless. The only negative I would have on this, so far, would be the lack of a pull start capability for backup.

Plenty of power

I have used the generator only a couple of times so far. Plenty of outlets and power available. I like the remote start option. I am uncertain about the CO sensor setup-- despite being outside in fresh air, the generator shut itself down a few times, which I am wondering if it is due to an overly sensitive CO sensor. If so, it would be much better if it had more of a delay so it isn't just sensing a momentary condition. Regardless, I like it so far and hope it will last us for many years.

Leaking fuel

2nd time using the generator. I followed gasoline startup procedure, turned the fuel selector knob to allow for gasoline operation, fuel starts poring down into the engine and appears to be coming out in several places. Obviously I can't use it now since it is a fire hazard. Very disappointed since it is only 2 months old.

Great features

I bought this a little over a month ago. I was looking for a higher wattage generator, and this one seems to meet my needs. I have it set up to use in a power outage. I have not needed it yet, but it did well when the electrician and I tried it out.

Power For A Stormy Day (or week)

Just received the generator yesterday and uncrated it. All the bells and whistles were there and it was packed very well for shipping. I will be running it using natural gas for fuel and I'm having a gas hookup with quick disconnect connectors and a electrical lockout switch installed Saturday. The impetus for me to purchase this particular generator was my neighbor just recently purchasing the same model (Wgen14500 Tfc). He has three refrigerators, two A/C units plus a window A/C, 6 TV's and two microwaves which he all ran simultaneously. Only after he started the second microwave did the 50 amp breaker finally open on the generator. Good enough for me!

Big Power for the money

Purpose of Purchase: Bought this generator to power my food truck during service and as a backup power source for my home during outages. Upgrade Justification: I upgraded from an 8kW generator, which required refueling during long events (e.g., 12-hour shifts). Refueling meant pausing service—even with a line of customers—just to add gas. That's no longer an issue. Performance: This generator ran for a full 12-hour period on a single tank of gas without needing a refill. That's a huge plus and a game changer for continuous service. 🔑 Key Notes & Considerations: CO2 Sensor Issue: The generator shut off three times while running in an open field. The lights indicated a CO2 sensor error. I solved this by placing a fan near it to keep air circulating—worked like a charm. Unsure why it triggered in open air, but something to watch for. Battery Management: After my first test run, I forgot to turn off the battery switch. Several hours later, I noticed a light still on. Unfortunately, the battery drained completely and now won't recharge. Major downside: If the battery dies, there's no manual recoil option to start the generator. Jumper cables from your car or a power pack will resolve this issue. ✅ Pros: Long runtime (12+ hours) on a single tank Powerful enough for food truck and emergency home use Smooth, quiet operation Moderate noise ❌ Cons: Sensitive CO2 sensor (may require extra airflow) No backup manual start option Battery can die easily if left on and won't recharge
