Excellent features and extremely powerful

I was looking for a gasoline powered generator that had enough power to run my whole house as I do not have access to natural gas where I live.I was pleased to find out that the initial setup was a breeze and when it started on the first try I was very pleased, for a huge generator I was quite pleased that it was actually quieter than the General I had at my previous residence.

This thing is a beast!

Initial review is this is a beast. If your looking for a roll into your truck and go, this is not the one. It's heavy and huge! With that said, ran it for the initial run in period with my 30ft travel trailer as the load, AC on and everything else electric I could turn on and it didn't even blink. Startup of this generator was as easy as checking oil, adding gas and pressing the start button. I haven't seen the problems others have whined about. If I do ill update at a later time. Follow the instructions, which are easy to follow, and you are good to go. The only thing I did find noticeable is it is a tad on the louder site, but it is a V twin engine and again high in watts and amps so to be expected. When the power goes out to the house, don't particularly care as it's outside.

Update to Review

The generator works great. Using with a transfer switch and it produces all the power we need. I would recommend this generator for anyone wanting to power their home during a power outage. We endure Public Safety Power Shutoff events which can mean no power for several days to a week. Deducted a star because it was extremely difficult to get technical assistance. Finally, got some help after 10 business days and it turns out the problem I thought I had is normal. I thought I had an issue with low voltage and RPMs but it turns out it the Smart Idle feature--wish was better explained in the manual. Guess I was not the only one with concerns as I was told there is going to a switch to turn off the Smart Idle feature based on feedback.

Great Product

I originally wanted a whole house generator in case of a hurricane. I also wanted a generator that I could take with me when I downsize and this one fit the bill. A "standby "generator would have to be sold with the house no money added to house value. This portable generator is big enough to power my current house and mobile so that when we downsize it will be able to power any smaller size house and have room to spare.

Easy Assembly

Once I removed the generator from the shipping box, I was able to assemble the front supports and attach the wheels in about 15 minutes. Since it was just me, it took a little bit longer. I was surprised to see that Westinghouse provided a spark plug wrench and an installation wrench in the box. That was super helpful and I didn't have to try and figure out what wrench to use on the bolts. It's currently raining, so I haven't had the chance to add fuel and fire it up. That can be another review.

Top of the line Generator!

Powerful, efficient, and quiet! After extensive research, I found the W12000DF Generator is the most efficient on fuel in the class of its size... AND it's the best bang for your buck. Along with a great warranty, what's to hesitate? It provides more runtime on a tank of gas than other comparable unit I looked at. We also heat our home with propane, so this spring, I'm planning on running a line to the rear patio so there will plenty of fuel for any extended outage situation. There are plenty of outlets. The weatherproof outlet covers are a great feature, snap in place. We live in a rural area and the electric goes out every season. This past winter it was out for 5 days...frustrating as it is, but finally we can run our entire home on this plant alone...we have 2 separate electric entrances, and it runs both. Before, on our little generator, we could only run on 110; a few lights and no appliances; now we can run everything, including the electric range, water heater, well pumps and even my small welder (if I need it). For a portable unit, this Gen packs a great punch. It's heavy, but once in place, it'll just do its thing. I love the push button start and the remote start FOB...super easy; no more pulling recoil cords!...especially in freezing weather! If you use the remote start, the switch on the Gen will have to be "on", which means it will put a continual drain on the battery but just remember to turn it off when in storage. Comes with its own charger, simple to use. Battery is a little difficult to attach but it's kept out of the way and once it's connected, forget about it. The charger port is on the front of the panel so it's not a problem to charge it. I would suggest purchasing a transfer switch to compliment your unit. I got a 50 amp outside connector box with a twist-lock cord and hardwired the box directly into our circuit panels. Works great!

Works but Engine shuts off after 5-10 minutes of o

Bought this as a backup generator for my house and it performs as it should under load but the engine shuts down after 5-10 minutes of operation. Doesn't trip any breakers and starts right back up after shutting down. Being brand new this should not happen for what these cost.

Great purchase!

Needed this the day after it was delivered (hadn't even finished getting it ready yet), and before the electrician had run a 50a outlet. used a long heavy duty extension cord to power my wife's oxygen machine and a few other things. Used Propane and couldn't be happier, now just waiting for electrician to run the actual 50a hookup and I'll be all set. Was easy to setup, ran fantastic, no issues at all. Will recommend to anyone that listens!

Checked the boxes

Wanted a large portable dual fuel generator with a low THD and this fit the bill. The online specifications on seller websites are not consistent or very clear but this does have pressurized oil system with a filter (and oil cooler which was not mentioned anywhere!) which should extend the service life of the unit.

Excellent Performance

I purchased this generator to power my house and I also wanted the option of dual fuel, because with some of the power failures we have had in our area, gas stations could not dispense gasoline. This generator easily powered my home when I tested it. It easily supplied my two refrigerators, boiler, and a large air conditioning unit (the condensing unit and the air handler). This was done while running on propane. This generator is not noisy-probably as loud as a riding lawn mower. The generator is fits in the back of my garage, and for a man with a bad back, I had no problem maneuvering it.
