Sold on ASUS

Easy set up partly due to Windows 11 being easier to set up. Setting from the ASUS is pretty straight forward. Very fast computer even after loading most everything I use. I had to have a backlit keyboard and this one has three levels of lighting. Would be nicer if there was an indication when you changed Num Lock, and couple other key settings but my past laptop didn't either. ALL my past laptops were HP but this time they wanted a premium for backlight and Intel I7 for some reason and an even bigger cost for HD like this laptop has. Thus far the ASUS meets or exceeds my past laptops.

Value for money . But the laptops body feels cheap

Performance wise it's the best value for money . But we can feel the cost cutting on the laptops body as it feels plastic . But iam genuinely happy and would recommend if the feel of laptops body doesn't matter to you . It's the best does all the task has good processor . Never heats up and speakers are good .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised at how great this laptop is right out of the box. In the past I've always found something lacking with my laptop purchaases but not with this one. The ********* nits of brightness works better than most due to the non glare screen, the Iris X graphics, and while not rated for outdoor use it works great in the shade, which I wasn't expecting. It's fast, easy, dependable, with a fast Wifi 6 connection. I'm not a gamer, so it's perfect for my uses.

I'm impressed.

So far, it's working...perfectly! I love it. Fast, very nice display. I edit photos as a hobby. The editing is impressively fast compared to my old laptop. I printed a few photos. The colors match the ones displayed on the screen. And one more thing. The viewing of photos on my old laptop used to depend a lot on the angle at which I was viewing the screen. It seems that on this laptop the angle does not affect the viewing, on a large range. Or at least, this aspect is not as sensitive as on my old laptop. This is a big advantage! And the price was very good. I admit, I bought it on sale. I'm on a budget, so the price also attracted me when I decided on this laptop. But, the laptop is very good. So, double satisfaction price and quality.

Great value for solid machine!

This is my 4th ASUS notebook I have purchased over 15 years. I am a Mac guy, but keep a Winbook around for various purposes. This was the best out of box: fast, sharp display (matte finish screen), little "bloatware", decent trackpad with Touch ID, good (Numeric!) keypad. Easy setup, although give it a day or two to apply all the initial software updates. (A lot of you have to update this before that-but that is Windows) But, overall, painless. Great value and machine is fast. My only gripes are that the finish is prone to smudging and the indicator lights are on the side. That is nitpicking. This is a solid machine at a great price. I'm glad I went with ASUS again.

Nothing beats it in terms of value

Crazy value for money. The keyboard is very tactile and satisfying to type on without being loud or obnoxious. The next closest thing in terms of specifications was easily a few hundred dollars more. Zero slowdowns since I've had it and it's been months. Can even handle some mid-tier gaming without breaking a sweat. I use it mostly for college work and, of course, that is light work for this machine. The only downside isn't even that bad, the battery life is pretty middling. 3ish maybe 4 hours if you're gentle. But for such a big laptop with an Intel Core i7 that is expected.

Good mid range budget for a student

Review for warranty extension from ASUS I picked up this Vivobook 16 primarily for college because it's surprisingly hard to find a sleek, black laptop under $500 ($400 during black friday sale) most budget options are silver or grey, so the Indie Black color is a huge plus for me. It looks professional and clean. I was debating between this and a Lenovo IdeaPad, but I went with the ASUS for two main reasons: performance and RAM. The Lenovo in this price range only had 8GB of RAM, while this Vivobook gives me enough headroom for multitasking with my lecture slides and browser tabs. The 13th Gen Intel Core i7 is plenty fast for everything I need; I haven't noticed any lag. Another feature I use constantly is the USB-C charging. It supports 45W power delivery, which is super convenient since I can use the same charger for my other devices. The backlit keyboard is also a lifesaver for late-night study sessions, which is nice since it's something a lot of other laptops at this price point skip. The only real downside is the webcam. It's 720p, and it definitely looks a bit grainy compared to the 1080p camera on the Lenovo I looked at. It works fine for Zoom classes, but don't expect crystal clear quality. Overall, if you can live with an average webcam, the performance, RAM, and build quality make this a much better value than the competition. Recommended for students on a budget.

Was okay for set up as long as you want all the windows crap popping up everywhere. It seems like their computer that I'm just renting. The Microsoft Office version that came loaded is from 2016 and two weeks after getting the computer, I get notice that it will not get updates anymore and have to load either Microsoft Office 2024 for a onetime $149 fee or “upgrade” to Microsoft 365 for an ongoing yearly fee of $99/yr, $149/yr or $199/year depending on the level chosen. Microsoft 365 came loaded on the computer but it's only a 30 day trial. I do like the lighted keyboard, which was something I really wanted . The battery life is pretty short….only a few hours unplugged. The fast charger does work well. The power cord is relatively short so if you want to use computer plugged in have outlet nearby.
