My family loves crushed ice and this works like a charm. I agree with the previous reviews that the machine is a bit on the noisy side but it sits in our kitchen and we don't hear it in any other rooms. Also, we only use distilled water in the hopes of avoiding any maintenance issues, and it isn't always readily available. That said, my gang is thrilled with the ice that this puppy puts out. Worth the hassle.

We brought our ice make home followed instructions and enjoyed it for Abt two days. Then a loud grinding sound started to happen once a day and it increased to multiple times a day by the two week point. Fortunately Nebraska Furniture refunded our money and we purchased something else.

This is a great small ice maker. We use it very frequently. We refill the external tank about once a week. The programmable ice making times is nice. The unit isn't very loud but it does make some noise when making ice. It's nice to have it make ice overnight or parts of the day when we're not around.

I use my GE Opal Nugget Ice Maker every single day, and it’s been one of my favorite kitchen additions. It was super easy to set up right out of the box, and it fits perfectly on my countertop without taking up too much space. The ice capacity is great—it holds plenty throughout the day—and it’s surprisingly quiet while running. I love that I can schedule it from my phone so the ice is ready for my morning iced coffee, which has seriously been taken to the next level! It’s easy to clean, convenient to use, and honestly just makes life better. Highly recommend for any iced drink lover!

I purchased this ice maker because I obviously love to be able to chew on my ice. I had purchased a different ice machine a few years ago & honestly never used it because it didn’t make this kind of chewable ice even in the “small” sized setting. I am definitely extremely happy with my Opal and it is used everyday by my entire family.

Looks just as pictured works great! Received in perfect condition. Easy to set up and started making ice very fast after running the rinse cycle as recommended. I did purchase the filter and it was easy to install also. I have purchased a different ice maker in the past and it was ok I felt like I had to stay on top of it to have enough ice. This one was more expensive but you get what you pay for. I love the side tank and I always have ice ready to go. I am so glad I splurged on this one!

The ice maker was easy to setup, and updated the software, I really enjoy being able to control certain features via wifi, and I made my decision to buy this product as opposed to others base on YouTube rating, it is a bit pricy but after using it I think it worths the price

This product operates as advertised for several months, then demonstrates a decline in productivity akin to legacy pro athletes who just landed their big contract. Unless GE decides to back their product with a reasonable warranty, realize that they know their design brings limited shelf life, and that you should stay away. Less than two years after purchasing ours, it now makes a very expensive water reservoir that conveniently accommodates the kids’ photo magnets that the new refrigerators no longer hold.

I’m happy with the ice production, and overall performance. The sound from the ice maker is there, but that’s as expected. I don’t have any loud or odd noises, just sounds a bit like a mini fridge. The ice is good, and I use distilled water to avoid any calcium build up since I’m on a well. The way it recycles water from the melting ice is cool. I wasn’t sure how it all worked until I got it here, but it’s pretty simple and you always have fresh ice. For the areas that left a little to be desired, ice texture… it’s good and breaks apart when eaten but is no where as soft as sonic ice, not even close. It’s better than the solid ice from my freezer, but I had higher expectations. The pull out drawer drips a ton of water, due to condensation on the inside of the double wall front side. There could be a simple integrated drip tray on the bottom the the drawer that sloped water to the tank, rather than dripping all over the counter and the little tray they want you to put in front. I’m surprised this is an issue, as a little design thinking could solve this easily. I don’t understand the need for WiFi connectivity, or the app integration, it’s just makes ice when the hopper is low… The rest of the device is nice. Fit and finish are very nice. Like I said, overall it’s solid and works well, just a few things that could be improved.

This is our first ice maker to use and love the ice it makes along with the ability to set a schedule for the making of ice. We have ice ready when arriving home after work each day along with weekends. It does however make more noise than expected. Overall a really nice unit.
