It has been great for providing ice for my family. It does make noise while making ice, so I appreciate that ours is in the laundry room just beside the kitchen. We can grab it anytime with minimal effort. And it is always ready. I do have to remember to refill the water as we do not have a water line attached. But it is a minimal inconvenience.

The ice is exactly what I wanted and it is plentiful! Mine does not have the side water bottle and I will likely add it as I run out of water often. The only complaints keeping it from being a 5 star are: 1) it dribbles a lot of water as I scoop ice and needs to wiped and mopped up! 2) it is louder than I had hoped! 3) it is super heavy and awkward to maneuver for the recommended weekly cleanings!

I was in love with this ice machine until this morning at 4:00 am it started making this horrible noise. I had to unplug it. I plugged it in about 3 hours later and it stopped making the noise. Not sure what that was about. lol I love the ice it lasts long in my drink. I've only had it less than a month so I hope the noise isn't serious because this machine is expensive. Overall I gave it a 4 star because of the noise but if I would've rated it yesterday I would've gave it a 5 star.

I love the ice that this machine produces. Best ice on the market for countertop ice makers. However, the noise can be very annoying. I had to return three machines because the whining noise was so bad. The ice would start to come and then get stuck somehow which would cause the machine to make the whining and screeching noises.

We love the ice, hate the noise level at certain time. It gets so loud we have to unplug the unit for it to quit. Would recommend the water tank add on. We clean it weekly and turn it off at various times so it is not running 24/7 and this appears to help with the noise.

We owned the first generation Opal ice maker, and it was very good. Liked it so much, got a second one. The newer one made some good improvements - such as being quieter, less "squeaks" and noise when making ice. Fit and finish seems a little more refined. The ice bin appears to be a new design so it is less likely to pull all the way out by accident. So far so good!

The GE Opal Ice Maker is more than just a fad or gimmick seen on TikTok. The ice comes out with the perfect consistency every time. Although a bulky design, it has a presence that will add style to your kitchen or wherever you may have it. We selected the black stainless to go with our appliances and we couldn't be happier with it, as it compliments our kitchen area. I followed directions for set up and within minutes it started producing crunchy ice nuggets. Highly recommend for those who like to crunch on ice.

My wife and child loves this ice machine, they use two bins a day. I was hesitant to buy at first after reading the reviews because some said it was loud and others never worked. My 13 year old unboxed it followed the easy instructions and by the time I got home from work it was full of ice, it does make sounds but so does my refrigerator. Best purchase in years.

As many may do, I researched Ice Makers for months before we made the purchase. We go through a ton of ice in Texas pretty much year round so this little guy was perfect. It's easy to set up and run it through the cleaning cycle. Yes, the machine is loud but what ice machine isn't a little loud?!

I've read other people's complaints about it being loud and it almost deterred me but I purchased this anyways and I'm glad I did! Also it's not THAT loud. I highly recommend purchasing the variant I did that has the side tank to put water in so you're not having to pull the tray out so much to pour water in it. So much more convenient to pull the side tank off and unscrew that cap and then fill that. The ice tastes great. I drink iced coffee multiple times daily and love it! (My dogs do too!) :)
