We have the machine in a busy office. We loved it when we first received it. Loved the nugget ice! I cleaned it every couple weeks. However, less than 6 months in it seems the pump has gone out. We are in the middle of working with the company on replacing it. We will see how it goes.

This appliance is awesome! We replaced our rarely-used mixer with this countertop nugget ice machine that we literally use all day, every day. Everyone in our family likes to chew ice and this is a game changer. The texture and quality of the ice is perfect. It makes ice faster than I expected it to. The side tank capacity is large which means you have to refill it less often. I also like how this version is WiFi-enabled which allowed me to tie it in to my Google Home routines so the light goes off at night and comes back on in the morning. There are some other basic functions in the app that are useful. All in all, we love this thing and will be recommending to anyone who will listen!

I absolutely will buy another one when this one quits, if that ever happens. I used to go to sonic at least 5-6 times a week, I don't now, so it is actually paying for itself. The ice is soft and easy to eat, just the right size. It can be turned off it you need it off and during no use it actually does like a sleep mode where it quits producing, like overnight, then in the morning just open it, move the ice around and it starts producing again. Really nice machine and well worth the money, I am not wealthy but some things are just worth paying extra for. It is General Electric, a good product. I do recommend putting a dish cloth in front where the “drip tray” is to absorb the water that drips when you open the ice bin. It is not necessary, it just makes me feel better that it is there.

This is my third opal machine. I was given a replacement of my second machine and not even 10 months later it is already making the same loud obnoxious noise as the first machine. The ice is good when it's actually working, but the noise is beyond obnoxious and loud, and I've had to just shut it off and not use it. I was told there is no repair for this which is very unfortunate considering how much I have paid for these machines. I was also told there is no warranty on the last one they sent me even though it hasn't even even been a year, because I originally purchased my first one two years ago. This makes no sense considering we're talking about a completely different newer ice machine!! No protection for the buyer

My wife has always loved the "best ice" in her drinks. She will drive way out of her way to get some from Sonic or at a gas station that has the "best ice!" Surprising my wife with this Ice Maker for our 36th Anniversary was a HUGE win. In fact, I get "points" each time she uses it!

I'm so excited to have the Opal 2.0 ice maker in my home! After visiting a friend for a week I was addicted lol. Set up instructions were easy, and already making ice! Didn't even have to call my husband to help! Now to get a glass and a cocktail with some yummy ice!

My husband is a devoted ice-chewer, and we agreed to always buy a cheap version of an item before getting the creme de la creme so to speak. After our cheap ice maker broke we bit the bullet and purchased this item. Although it takes up far more counter space in an apartment than I'd like, it truly has become a staple in our home and it has actually encouraged us both to stay more hydrated throughout the day. I like that it doesn't have to be running all day everyday and I think the app is user friendly. The lighting is aesthetically pleasing and the machine is relatively quiet.

The ice is exactly what I wanted and it is plentiful! Mine does not have the side water bottle and I will likely add it as I run out of water often. The only complaints keeping it from being a 5 star are: 1) it dribbles a lot of water as I scoop ice and needs to wiped and mopped up! 2) it is louder than I had hoped! 3) it is super heavy and awkward to maneuver for the recommended weekly cleanings!

While I love the ice it produces and the ease of use, at about the 1 year mark the unit began to leak. I am regularly finding water underneath the unit. And it is not just from what drips onto the tray. Unit has been cleaned and descaled repeatedly since purchase.
