We absolutely LOVE our ice machine. It was not working for a bit and we PANICKED! No worries we figured out that the side tank was not level and all is well now (Whew). The only reason it does not get 5 STAR is due to the I swine price and the fact that it does make noises that irritate me especially after cleaning cycles. I have owned one other brand and this one is by far the BEST CHOICE! Especially with our Texas heat.

I love this new Opal ice maker. Looks great. Compact stylish design that blends well with all the other appliances. Its quiet with just a very low hum when in operation. A few little ticks as the nuggets of ice are dispensed when they hit the plastic bin. Don't even notice it's there until you need ice. Only issue I've had is getting the controls to work on wifi/app. App brings up the ice maker and shows status, however it does not have any effect on it when you try to use any of the control functions (doesn't cycle power or light). But all in all, not a function I use that much anyway.

this was giving to me as a gift and i could not wait to get it up and running. i absolutely love ice in all my drinks lots of ice. the set up look like a bunch of stuff but was really very easy started making ice as it said and within 30 min had my first glass of wonderful ice water. have been wanting one of these machines and i could not be happier. it’s very quiet really don’t even know it’s running. cats have enjoyed checking it out when the ice falls. very very pleased. a lil pricey but will highly recommend this to everyone

We’ve had our ice maker for a few weeks now, and we love it so far. Makes plenty of ice for us every day, and love that it’s easy to clean. It does take up a bit of counter space, but it’s so worth it. The nugget ice is perfect, and just like that popular fast food chain ice!

We love this machine for our RV. It makes that good nugget ice! Great for campfire parties and get-togethers. We like how it recycles the melting ice back into the reservoir so no mess. About 12-15 min for the ice is available which is great. Highly recommend. 5 out of 5

We got this as a present and can’t begin to imagine life without it. All our neighbors want our “fancy ice”. The included side tank is amazing. We’ve yet to outpace the ice maker with a hand full of people getting refills. The machine is quiet comparable to some others I’ve heard. Price tag beyond worth it.

We loved it at first but then after multiple cleaning cycles after setting it up and then making a first batch of ice, we all tasted the ice and I noticed something in my mouth. Removed object and it was a metal shaving! I then stopped everyone from consuming the ice and then allowed the icemaker to finish making a complete batch of ice overnight. In the morning I dumped all of the ice and the side water reservoir. I went to empty the internal reservoir and notice 2 more metal shavings floating in the bottom! Great purchase so far. Only had the ice maker 2-3 weeks but zero complaints so far. Have been filling the tank using filtered water from a refrigerator pitcher to hopefully minimize build-up. Ice is soft, crunchy and tastes great. Not noisy at all in my opinion. There is a very low hum but that's it other than when the ice drops. The app makes it very convenient. Runs every day from 9am-9pm without fail. Emptying and cleaning is annoying to have to do but it's a necessary evil and is relatively easy to do. Expensive but the wife loves it.

Unreliable. 1st unit failed after 6 months. GE replaced unit under warranty, and it failed after 5 months. Both had the same issue. Stopped making ice due to “Add Water” error, even though reservoir was full and water cascading down the back. I only used distilled water in both units, and I followed the cleaning instructions as stated in the manual. I believe you have a design issue. I was not willing to request another unit, even though it was still under the initial 12 month warranty period. There is little reason to believe the next one would be any different. I scrapped it last week. An expensive lesson.

We had this since July and have had nothing but problems. We only used distilled water. Cleaned/descaled monthly.Reached out to support and we have followed their suggestions several times. It works for a couple of weeks and then it stops working. I wanted to love this ice maker. I love the ice it makes. I have bought three for family members. Their reviews vary.
