Great purchase so far. Only had the ice maker 2-3 weeks but zero complaints so far. Have been filling the tank using filtered water from a refrigerator pitcher to hopefully minimize build-up. Ice is soft, crunchy and tastes great. Not noisy at all in my opinion. There is a very low hum but that's it other than when the ice drops. The app makes it very convenient. Runs every day from 9am-9pm without fail. Emptying and cleaning is annoying to have to do but it's a necessary evil and is relatively easy to do. Expensive but the wife loves it.

My wife has stopped going to Chic-fil-A to by bags of pellet ice. This ice maker is the bomb. A little pricy, but it works great, and what the heck, it's just fun. Wish it made ice a little faster, but the process for making this chewable ice takes time. Would definitely recommend this product.

I love ice so much that I annoy my family with my constant crunching. The fast food restaurant chain with the "good ice" should be buying it from me. I use filtered water from my refrigerator because that's what I'm used to drinking, but my sister has the same machine and she uses tap water. We both get soft, perfect, small barrels of the best ice ever. It's so soft that I'm told that crunching is much less obnoxious than it was before.

The ice is amazing. I have the opal 1 as well, and that one is amazing. But I like the look of the opal 2.0 way better, but there are some issues with the opal 2.0 the thing squeals all the time. So if it didn't squeal all the time it would be a 4 to 5 star rating from me. They did do some good upgrades from the last model but obviously they haven't figured out the icing up issue. From what I've read the squealing is do to icing up and then it defrosts itself to fix it. But it spends more time defrosting than making ice ,and let's be honest for how much these things cost they should be in better working order especially when you make a 2.0.

I was in love with this ice machine until this morning at 4:00 am it started making this horrible noise. I had to unplug it. I plugged it in about 3 hours later and it stopped making the noise. Not sure what that was about. lol I love the ice it lasts long in my drink. I've only had it less than a month so I hope the noise isn't serious because this machine is expensive. Overall I gave it a 4 star because of the noise but if I would've rated it yesterday I would've gave it a 5 star.

Amazing machine! Beautiful appearance. Matches all my other GE profile appliances. Ice is perfect for drinks and crunching! I used to buy Sonic ice but now i have it at home. Always fresh! My entire family enjoys the ice too. You will not be disappointed and yes. It's worth the money.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that you can't control when you want ice to be made and when you don't. Every time you open and close the bucket to get ice it Automatically starts making more ice even though you don't need it and starts dripping water into the bucket ultimately melting all the ice it's made for the past hour. Side tank is faulty and will randomly stop giving water to the machine

I love the nugget ice. It's just the right size and texture. Makes ice very quickly. The ice stays frozen for a long time. Much longer than I expected since it doesn't keep it frozen. I've only been using it for a month so I can't give a long term evaluation but I am extremely pleased so far. Only downside is that it was very pricy but it may be worth it in the long run and the need to purchase the scale inhibiting filters or distilled water. Hopefully this product will last us for many years.

If you have ever thought about getting this…. Just do it! I put it off for 6 months and finally bought one. I can't say enough good stuff about this. The ice is wonderful and holds in my yeti cup for hours. If you do purchase this I highly recommend the side tank. It makes life so much easier. The WiFi feature is so wonderful. I set it for dinner and we have a bin full of ice ready to go. Don't hesitate if you have ever thought about getting one of these. I wish I would have bought it sooner than I did! Cleaning is so easy and the filters do last.

Works great. We have been using ours for about 2-3 months and love it. It keeps up with our daily ice usage. We use a Brita water filter to filter the water we use in it. My brother bought one too and he loves it. Expensive but worth it so far. Makes great easy to chew ice.
