When it works properly, it’s wonderful. But it hardly ever works properly. We had to already trade in our first icemaker because it had so many issues. Now the second one has issues as well. Sometimes it just gets clogged and doesn’t fill with water. Sometimes it sits idle for no reason and doesn’t produce ice. We have to take it apart and back together so many times in order for it to work. Again, if it would work, smoothly start to finish all the time the ice is wonderful.

This produces a higher quality of ice than my refrigerator can make. The extruded pebble ice goes wonderfully with coke or other sodas. It’s also almost required for tiki (rum) drinks. I would seriously recommend the storage tower add on. I am currently refilling the tower with water about twice a day as the family enjoys this ice better than the foggy half moons our refrigerator makes.

Overall this thing is awesome. Ice chunks are perfect size, they don’t melt too quickly and totally chewable. It makes ice quickly too. Expensive but I eat ice and was using like crushed ice from my fridge. The filter is a bonus. Ice tastes totally neutral.

My apartment doesn't have an ice maker and I got tired of having to refill the trays again and again. This is the perfect solution to say the least. It's the best ice for any drink and it makes it fast. However there is one thing that I've noticed that could use some improvements. The hose that is used between the water supply and the machine uses gravity. If the hose is a bit up itge machine won't make any ice until the hose is pushed all the way down. If there was a pump mechanism to feed the machine there would be zero problems with the functionality. Overall this machine gets a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

My wife & I absolutely love this product. We have nothing negative to say about it . We have a fairly new LG frig thats amazing , but the ice maker sucks...especially in the summer time or if guests are over . So we did some research and made the investment to get this amazing ice maker . It looks great on the counter & is always full of ice as long as your adding water to the tank every other day.

We bought our first ice maker 5 years ago when it was the FirstBuild Opal version. We loved it then, but really love the new GE Profile version with side tank. It functions well, is quieter than the previous version, and has a more attractive look and feel to it. The pull-out drawer has a stop-catch so it won't fall out when open, which is a new feature that appeals to us.

I have had my ice maker for almost a month and so far I am LOVING it. I had read a ton of reviews all over the internet before making my purchase and they made me a little wary but I am SO glad I decided to purchase it. My husband was going to Sonic every week to buy me 2 bags of ice so while this ice maker was not a necessity, it was something I have been wanting for years. The packaging was incredibly sturdy and my machine was in perfect condition. The set up took less than 30 minutes total and in about an hour I had a huge cup of chewy, crunchy ice. I have to fill up the side tank at least once a day because we use a lot of ice but it is so simple to do it's not a problem. I was also worried about the noise the machine would make since several people mentioned it but it is not loud AT ALL. I keep it literally 6 feet away from my desk in my home office and I don't even hear it most of the time. When it's running making ice, there IS noise but it's a low hum and the sound of lovely nugget ice dropping into the bin. I have done the cleaning cycle once so far using 5 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of bleach. It was really quick and easy to do and there was no trace of bleach taste which I was worried about. I downloaded the app and it was very easy to use. It allowed me to set my machine to turn off at 10pm and turn back on at 7am so I always wake up with a full bin of ice. I have zero complaints about my ice maker so far. I did purchase an extended 3 year warranty just in case but I just LOVE this ice machine and I can 100% recommend it for anyone who is on the fence.

Didn't think I would use it much, bought it mainly for my better half. I absolutely love it!! I find that I'm drinking more water during the day using nugget ice. We find ourselves making fruit drinks like Brazilian Lemonade every day usually twice a day. I love it, I can't say enough. It is easy o set up and instructions are easy to follow.

I've had issues with the ice maker in all of the refrigerator/freezers I've owned in the last 10 years with most of the ice makers only lasting about a year or so. I finally gave up on replacing them and went without an ice maker for 2 years. I decided to try the Opal and I'm glad that I did. The ice it makes is great and it doesn't take that long for the bin to fill up. While the it's making ice, the compressor can be heard, but I've found that the noise fades to the background unless I specifically listen for it. I'm very happy with it.
