I'm happy with the ice production, and overall performance. The sound from the ice maker is there, but that's as expected. I don't have any loud or odd noises, just sounds a bit like a mini fridge. The ice is good, and I use distilled water to avoid any calcium build up since I'm on a well. The way it recycles water from the melting ice is cool. I wasn't sure how it all worked until I got it here, but it's pretty simple and you always have fresh ice. For the areas that left a little to be desired, ice texture… it's good and breaks apart when eaten but is no where as soft as sonic ice, not even close. It's better than the solid ice from my freezer, but I had higher expectations. The pull out drawer drips a ton of water, due to condensation on the inside of the double wall front side. There could be a simple integrated drip tray on the bottom the the drawer that sloped water to the tank, rather than dripping all over the counter and the little tray they want you to put in front. I'm surprised this is an issue, as a little design thinking could solve this easily. I don't understand the need for WiFi connectivity, or the app integration, it's just makes ice when the hopper is low… The rest of the device is nice. Fit and finish are very nice. Like I said, overall it's solid and works well, just a few things that could be improved.

Th Opal 2.0 ice maker is a fabulous little ice maker. Dishing out wonderful small pellets of ice that we love putting in our drinks and water bottles. The device is not difficult to maintain, but make sure you clean it regularly or the machine will begin to make angry whirring and squeezing noises during the defrost cycle. Don't blame the machine, turn it off and follow the cleaning instructions and it will happily start working again with its minor whirs and gear sounds making ice again. .

This is the best ice maker! The consistency, texture, and size makes this ideal for any drink. Our home keeps it running 24/7 because we use it that much. Love how easy it is to set up and there is virtually zero maintenance. We don't have it attached to our water filtration system but the fact that you can is a plus. Truly everything we were looking for.

We've had our ice maker now for appx 2 weeks and love it! It makes everything taste better…from sweet tea to sodas to mixed drinks. Very easy to use and to fill water. Size is great, takes up less space than a microwave. Nothing negative to say about this machine except, I wish I would have gotten it sooner!

My family could not be happier with nugget ice maker. With our family of 5 ice addicts we are filling the water twice a day. Only took 1 star as it does have a machine noise that is definitely noticeable. If you are sensitive to that and do not have a place you can put away, this will not be for you

So excited for my new GE Opal 2.0 Ice Maker! Was purchasing all new GE Cafe' kitchen appliances and decided to throw in this ice maker that I had heard so much about. The Quickstart Guide was easy to follow and set up was simple. Mine started making ice in about 13 minutes. I know my family is going to enjoy this as much as I am with this first glass of Sweet Summer Iced Tea!

The icemaker works well it does exactly what it supposed to do. I would have been happy except when I took the icemaker out of the box there was a scratch and dent on one side of it and another dent on the other side. Quality team should have caught these before they was ever packed up. These appliances cost too much to come as a scratch and dent model.

So DISAPPOINTED . I recieved the opal 2 for Christmas ... I am very familiar with This brand and this style ice Maker.Because the friend that gave it to me has one and I go straight to the icemaker to get a cup of ice and water every time I go to their house. Unfortunately, the day I set mine up.I began having problems. I called for troubleshooting help.And I thought my problems were over but they weren't. My reservoir is full but the machine says add water. And it won't make ice the lady at g.E recommended that I do something to remove an air bubble which I followed her stepsaid.I thought that was the solution . Last week, I did the same thing again.I've only had the machine less than a month.And i'm so disappointed because my friend's machine works perfectly and mine sucks

We were so tired of the ice maker on our refrigerator getting jammed and needing repair so we bought this ice maker. We love the ice that it makes and it is was cheaper than one call to the appliance repair man. Great quality, easy to use, and economical for the amount of use it gets.

Ice maker was expensive and the family LOVED it for the 1st few weeks. It started to make noises when making ice and we cleaned the system several times. One of which we allowed it to soak and run vinegar. The noise grew and grew until we couldn't take it anymore. We returned it and purchased a significantly cheaper one to try our luck again since peer reviews validated my issues with brand/model.
