I am absolutely in love with my ice machine. It's so quiet and easy to set up. Cleaning it was so easy and didn't take much time. Having the water tank is incredible, and easy to fill up. And the ice!! Oh my goodness it's like sonic ice and chick fil a ice had a baby. It's the perfect size and the perfect crunch.

Worked great until it didn't. Machine would run, showing "defrosting," until we turned it off. When it DID make ice, it was great! Then we had more issues with it, and it has quit working all together. It will "run," but no ice ever makes. Machine has been cleaned properly per manual. Overpriced hunk of junk!

The dentist says I shouldn't chew ice. Probably true, but we compromised and this ice maker is da bomb. Great for drinks and other ice related needs too. Easy to use and quiet. Highly recommended if you love ice just like fast food restaurants used to use, but don't go to fast food restaurants because they are also not good for you and pretty gross. I'm eating ice right now!

Made a full bin of fresh crunchy ice right out of the box. The Manuel was easy to follow and we had crunchy ice within 30 minutes out of the box. One of the absolute best purchases I have made recently. Well made and easy to follow directions. Thanx GE

The Opal 2 is exactly what I’d hoped it would be. The nugget ice is hard and perfectly shaped. For just my wife and I it makes more than enough. I will say that when it’s making ice it’s a bit load to have in a main open area. I had an outlet put into our pantry next to a sink. So it’s right next to our kitchen. This worked out perfectly. If you have a large family and need a lot of ice at once, this won’t do it - unless you buy 2. For me… worth every cent. I haven’t used the fridge ice dispenser once.

I was initially quite excited about this icemaker due to the many positive reviews across the web. However, I am now on my third machine due to the short life of each unit. These machines have consistently stopped working within a year. I follow the directions for cleaning, etc. I use the machine lightly and in spite of this, they all have stopped making ice within a year. The reason why I continue to replace them is because I purchase the extended warranty each time. For the price of this unit, this is unacceptable. There is clearly something wrong with the build of this machine.

Love the dimensions, it fits under my shelves on the countertop and is still pretty slender. I’m within 24 hrs of use and it doesn’t seem noisy to me. The capacity and production is perfect as our household goes through lots of ice. I was used to the simple bullet ice maker so this was a bit more with installation but definitely worth it! I love the machine.

I researched lots of ice makers, and the GE Profile kept coming up every time, number one. It is the best nugget ice I have ever had!!!! It's better than the fountain drinks in the store. The ice maker was easy to set up and easy to clean. I'm a 71 yr old lady and I did it with no help. I have 3 glasses a day, and I will be having more in the summer. It was sooooo worth it!!!!! I have wanted one for years. I love it❤️

Great nugget ice. Evening in the family loves it. The machines are pretty finicky though. This is our 3rd one. First one locked up during the warranty period, ge replaced with a refurbished unit. That one locked up just after the 12 month warranty expired. We've opened it up, deep cleaned, but it still would give errors (add water, when the was water, etc.).

I had this icemaker and within the first 10 days, it made horrible sounds, wise than the expected whaling I read about. Keep in mind that I used only distilled water and purchased the opal filter. It would turn itself off after making a terrible noise like grinding chains. It was pretty, but could never get a full basket of ice.
