Ice maker is great. Easy to clean, setup and make ice. The ice is soft and chews easily for those who like to eat ice. Not a high volume machine but it keeps up with me eating ice all day long. Had issues with the shipping to my home, but once it arrived, it has been great. Use it every day, all day long.

We have loved our GE nugget ice maker so far. We have had it for about a month, and it works great. It's easy to clean, and to be able to drain the water after cleaning it. I love that it can light up, so you can see in there, if you need to get ice when the kitchen light is off. It makes the best chewable ice, that keeps your drinks so cold!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GE Profile™ Opal™ 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker makes the best ice. The nuggets are a cylinder, oblong shape (like the type found in commercial establishments)! The unit can support up to 24 pounds of ice daily and is easily refilled with water. The ice itself tastes clean and fresh thanks to the onboard filter. I am an ice chewer and simply adore this unit. My only complaint is the app; it never did sync with the unit.

We love the ice that it produces, but not sure of a few discomfort things for the ice and price. We find it pretty noisy. Its located in our kitchen (open type floor plan) and it can be heard though out the open area. It also make squeaking noises at times that sound like it needs to be oiled. When getting the ice out of the ice bucket, water leaks down the front of the unit into the drip tray. Not sure how the stainless will hold up over time and the tray constantly has water in it. We are a family of 5 and use a good bit of ice throughout the day.

I do not recommend this product. Within 4 month we had to call in because it became extremely loud while making the ice. When you get a replacement unit it is a refurbished unit which still should be “like new”. The one they sent us had a scratch on the top and a huge dent on the back. We set it up and it was not much softer in noise than the original. Decided to keep the original unit but I would not buy it again if I knew how loud this machine is when it’s making the ice.

After fighting with another company and having their nugget ice machine replaced multiple times, we have been very happy with the operation of this machine. Production is fast and the extra water tank on the side is a fantastic feature. The only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars is the weak water draw from the side tank into the machine. If the inlet hose is not perfectly flat it can easily stop feeding water into the machine even with a full tank.

Terrific ice maker! Love the WiFi feature that connects easily to my phone. If you buy it, you definitely need to purchase the one with the extra water tank though. The ice is crunchy yet soft at the same time. Price is reasonable and hope that it lasts long.

The instructions are very helpful and detailed enough for a smooth and easy setup. The ice machine is has a comfortable sound level to where you forget that it's on until you either look at and see the light on or you hear the ice drop. It makes the nugget ice as you expect, it was easy to download the app to control by phone and the side tank is easy to take off to refill and put back on. The side tank holder works perfectly on attaching to the ice maker. The ice maker fits comfortably under your average sized space under cabinets in an older home like mine. You'll have maybe less than an inch left of space under the cabinet once you push the ice machine under the cabinet and that's with the tank attached. The machine can hold a large amount of ice in the bin and keep it frozen until used as long as you keep the machine turned on. My family and I are really happy with it. I love the black stainless, it looks Sooo Goooood!

We bought our first ice maker 5 years ago when it was the FirstBuild Opal version. We loved it then, but really love the new GE Profile version with side tank. It functions well, is quieter than the previous version, and has a more attractive look and feel to it. The pull-out drawer has a stop-catch so it won't fall out when open, which is a new feature that appeals to us.

We have an open kitchen and living room and I love that I can program it to start about an hour before I get up and have fresh ice. But also if the husband is snoring too bad and I wanna sleep on the couch in silence I don't hear it running all night. Friends come over to visit and always ask to take a cup of ice home with them.
