I had the Opal 1 and while good, it had a number of issues with the challenges of keeping it clean and mold free and also with air pockets causing the machine to overheat. I purchased the Opal 2 and found it much better in all regards. Makes ice much faster, Stays cleaner longer, quieter and doesn't run constantly. The only thing I don't like is the control button. For one the placement of “invisible” power button just above the ice container makes it very easy to accidentally turn the machine off when pulling out the ice container. This is awkward and in a busy household easy for the machine to get turned off and then no ice! Otherwise the ice production is terrific and I love it. Price point on these is pretty high and I feel the first one was really a beta machine and very difficult to maintain. Now what do I do with the old machine?

I am so glad I moved forward with the purchase of the Opal 2.0 Ice Maker. It produces a delightful textured ice with the perfect size Our family literally looks forward to our family gatherings knowing we will all be enjoying the ice. Who would have imagined that “ice” really does add to family gatherings. Home Run GE!

After hearing from several friends about this product I couldn't wait to purchase. The first 2 weeks it was great until I started noticing black pieces, what seem to be plastic, imbedded in the ice. I've cleaned the machine several times as well as the initial cleaning prior to use - still occurs.

Ice maker makes ice very fast and perfect ice size. Ice box fills up fast. Does tend to melt if not used quickly, but makes new ice just as quick. We are very pleased with this ice maker and have told several friends how great it is and they also have purchased one also.

We love our new ice machine. Works great and the wifi feature is so convenient to set a schedule and control when I am away from home. We have noticed some noises and it seems to need cleaning more quiet often then I expected so I am trying to understand if its just our water, but overall we love it and are happy with our purchase.

Great ice maker! My family is very happy with the nugget ice machine. It makes the perfect nugget ice and is enough for a family of 4 on an average day. Its not too loud and is easy to set up. I really like being able to control it on the App. Cleaning is easy and does not require anything special. Definitely recommend!

The best ice machine EVER!! It's absolutely perfect. Perfect soft ice biggest!! It's quiet, you can use the app and set when you want it to make ice! It's incredibly indulgent, but after 3 cheap ice makers we researched, read all the good reviews and watched YouTube videos. It was clear this is the best model on the market. I'm thankful we bought this! With summer here, cocktails are a breeze and iced coffee is even better with nugget ice!!

Once we put this machine in the kitchen we have yet to go se the 2 other ice machines in our refrigerators. The ice nuggets are perfect for our tiki drinks (which is why we bought it) and now the whole family (4) uses it for everything that needs ice. I like the connectivity and the fact that I can turn it off at night and set a schedule. It makes a funny noise sometimes but that doesn't bother us. It's a great addition to the house. Much better value that a Scotsman.

I have been wanting an ice machine that makes this type of ice for years. Finally got my wish when my refrigerators ice machine quit working. For my 46 birthday i bought this and i swear best thing i have ever bought. If you like Sonic Ice this machine is for you. Love love love it.

It came 3 days early. I was sick so I didn't get it set up right away. But, when I did, it worked great. It was well packed. Between the instructions and the pictures, we were able to get it up and running. A few slight problems but not too hard to do. I love the ice. It is just like Sonic Ice. It keeps up with our needs.
