It's a great ice maker. Fills up the ice bin pretty quickly. The one thing I dislike is when I remove the side water tank, the part I remove it from is filled with water so I have to remove that water before returning the water tank to it, otherwise it overflows.

Our original GE ice maker was the original Opal. It worked well until it didn't, making super loud noises like grinding and then squeals. To their credit, GE replaced it as it was under warranty and since the original Opal wasn't being made anymore, they sent us the Opal 2. Unfortunately, the ice is hard and not like the original Opal. The ice comes out shaped like the original Opal but it's hard like getting crushed ice out of a freezer. I don't think sending this one back would help. It's like the ice freezes way too hard, it even looks different than the original one we had.

I really love this ice maker. My sister got tired of watching me drag bags of ice home from the grocery store, so she bought this for me for a Christmas present. I absolutely love the small ice nuggets. They're produced fast and easy. I did have to set it up in my laundry/pantry room because it makes a bit of noise while making the ice but the noise doesn't last very long.

This machine is a little confusing to set up, but once you've attempted it, it becomes clear. Same goes for the weekly cleaning. A little spilled water, and you've figured it out. Makes a LOT of ice in a short time, the running noise isn't as bad as some people have told me it was., and so far (1 month in) I've had zero issues with the unit, which I use all day everyday. The clip in the back where the tube ends get plugged in falls off easily, which could have been easily fixed (design flaw) but its not a deal breaker. You just have to pick it up and put it back on if you aren't extra careful each time you plug in ends of the tube in. Optional water filter is a nice touch, but I just start with filtered water so I didn't need to buy that additional feature. Easy to use, and good quality construction. A+

We are absolutely loving the icemaker. It has the small, pebble-like ice that we like. My family goes through ice like there is not tomorrow...with the side bin for water this machine keeps up quite nicely. It fills the ice bin quickly and I have a routine where I refill the water bin before I go to bed at night. The machine does make some quirky noises but it specifically states that it does in the instructions. Most of the time we don't even notice it. It is aesthetically pleasing and looks good on the counter...kind of tucked into the corner out of the way. I would definitely recommend this product and would buy it again.

I bought it October 23, 2022. The appliance makes great ice and makes it rather quickly, but.... it's too noisy! I have to jamb a cloth between it and the wall to keep it from vibrating/resonating loudly enough that I want to turn it off. The side of the cabinet isn't stiff enough not to vibrate. On top of that, the light burned out and owner's manual says replacement of light bulbs not covered under the manufacturer's warranty!! On top of that, it will no longer follow an off/on schedule set up thru the app and app says machine needs to be descaled even though it's just been cleaned.

I would highly recommend this ice maker! My parents received one as a Christmas gift and we loved the “good ice” so much we purchased one as well as my brother's family too. I don't think I will ever be able to have any other ice again. The only downside is the noises it makes while making the ice, but it is well worth it!

I have really enjoyed how quickly this icemaker is able to produce ice and it is very quiet!!!! I love the side water chamber and the amount of ice that is produced with very little water. The fact that it automatically switches to producing ice when some is removed is a nice feature. It does require frequent cleaning so I would recommend placing it near a sink for easy drainage.

We thought we would use this ice maker when we had guests and needed extra ice. Wrong. We use this ice maker exclusively. Much better ice than the fridge. We use the wireless feature to schedule the ice maker times to make ice every day. Very convenient.

I was sooo excited for this ice maker, I'd wanted one for years and my husband bought it for my birthday. It never worked, after reading reviews we decided to get a refund rather than replacement because so many people had problems, and I wasn't confident it would work for more than 6 months to a year after getting a new one when I saw other experiences. For how expensive it is there shouldn't be this many people having issues.
