This is my 2nd Opal 2 ice maker. The first one went toes up after 2 years. Shipped back to GE and was determined "unrepairable" Lived without ice maker for past few months and really missed it. I like the ice. Bought another one today and it has a bad pump. Will not pull water from tank. Does not create suction due to bad pump. Shame, because when it works I like the product.

Three opal ice maker is a perfect addition to our kitchen. This machine churns out more than enough for our family of 5 who all love the soft ice. We're added the side tank and are working on a modification to connect directly to water supply. That is the only drawback of the machine. It should at least be an option to connect to a water supply.

This ice machine is better than anything I have ever purchased. It's quiet, makes enough ice to start a small drive thru and it's absolutely everything I wanted. Much better than any other product out there. (And I know because I have tried them) my pet pigs love nugget ice and this machine has been instrumental in ensuring their hydration throughout the day on these super hot days. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nugget ice maker.

For whatever reason I drink SO much more water just because I have nugget ice. The machine works well, and always is full of ice waiting to be used. I debated spending that much for an ice maker for years, but I haven't regretted the expense for even a single second. LOVE IT

You need to get this! It makes ice quickly, stores it and it is a soft, chewable crunchable nugget, which is easier on your teeth than an ice cube. It was easy to get set up, with minimal effort. We use this daily and it is easy to fill the resevoir. We wonder why we waited so long. You shouldn't wait any longer. Get yourself one! You won't be disappointed.

We love the ice that this produces. have had hours probably five months or so. What I do not like is how noisy it is. Not the ice dropping into the bucket but it has this hissing repetitive respirator breathing type noise. It sounds like you're next to someone in a hospital room and they are on a ventilator. so we keep it in a separate room then the kitchen.

We previously had a Kitchenaid Ice Maker that was incredibly inferior. The GE profile Opal Ice Maker is far superior, external tank easy to use, and the water filter is exceptional. The ice is perfect and supplements the fridge ice maker. I would recommend to anyone

The picture shows it having ice full to the brim but it actually doesn't keep the ice cold enough to not melt so the bottom melts out as the top condignly refills. what happens because the ice melts is it creates more of a ramp of ice running from the bottom of the where you see it to the spout at the top back where the ice comes out and then it stops making ice because the ice ramp is blocking the spout even thought the bucket isn't full. Even if you pull the bin out and shake it often I can never get the bucket to completely fill up like they have shown.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I run a portable ice maker almost constantly. In fact, I've worn 2 out over the last couple years. Although cheap , they just did not last and the ice was just OK. The ice is actually pellets about 1/2” long and 1/4” in diameter. It is soft enough to chew and hard enough not to water down your drinks. One other great option in this ice maker is the self cleaning option. So long as I use it weekly as recommended, I've not seen mold take hold the way it did in the other style ice makers.I used the Bluetooth app and set up a run schedule to make life even easier for us. Even with the price, I have to give this 5 out of 5. When the box arrived I was so excited. The box was big but I was able to move it into the kitchen easily with no help. The setup instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. After doing GE's recommended 1st cleaning (which is also easy), the ice marker powered on and got right to work.read the instructions on how to work the machine and how the machine works. Because it's so easy to setup, don't be tempted to start making ice until you read. Also, the ice maker isn't obnoxiously loud.

I love this kind of ice so my husband surprised me with this little gem for my birthday. It makes enough ice for the two of us just fine. We both use it every morning and throughout each evening. We've never run out. The water doesn't need to be filled more than once or twice a week for us. If I could change one thing it would be to allow water to be refilled without removing the water tank. Not a big deal, but it would be nice, I think. I love this ice!
