We love our ice machine. It works great and we always have ice on hand now. It recycles the ice if you don't use it but that has never been a problem for us. There is always ice in the machine in the morning and once you take some it quickly makes more.

The Opal nugget ice machine is a small counter top appliance that delivers the famous nugget ice in 30+ minutes. I say 30 because after only 20 minutes the ice hasn't started quite forming fully and can still be slightly wet. The wifi feature was buggy at first, but seems to have sorted itself out. I'm not sure about the optional side tank feature as it requires you to fiddle with and reposition some of the tubing at the back. Would prefer just the machine itself.

Absolutely love the ice but the machine makes some very loud noises. I previously owned another ice maker at a much lower price point that failed after 1 year so I upgraded to this machine but for the price I'm surprised at how loud it is. Especially because I bought the 2.0.

This machine looks great, and everyone compliments the ice it makes for their drinks. But more importantly, it actually has a great way to clean the machine. It's a little confusing the first time, but after that it's simple. Our old machine had no "practical" way to be cleaned that's why it broke within 2 years, and is now replaced lol. If you're looking for a machine to do parties of 15+ people, you're going to want a built in heavy duty ice maker, not this.

I love the ice you get from Sonic and would buy bags from there. My family knows how much I like the nugget ice so they gave me this machine for Christmas. It is so nice not having to go out to buy ice. Now I can have ice like Sonic has anytime I want. The ability to set a schedule for it to run from my cell phone is fantastic. I can check on it and turn it on from anywhere. I highly recommend this ice machine.

Omg, I did not know I needed this in my life!! If you've ever had the misfortune of being in the hospital, the only pleasantry is that delicious ice. Well, now you can have it in the comfort of your own home. This little machine makes that ice that is so crispy, and it really absorbs the flavor of your drink. During these crappy times, it's so important to have some little pleasantries. Do yourself a favor and pick up this little ice maker!!

This my second Opal. The first one worked reliably every day for about 4 1/2 years. Then the ice bin indicator started indicating full bin right after it was turned on and refused to produce any ice. I went back and forth with tech support and tried every possible way to clean the machine and the sensors but to no avail. I'm sure if the ice bin sensors could be cleaned it would continue to produce ice. But rather than waste any more time on it, I went ahead and got a new ice maker. So amortize the cost of the machine over daily usage for 4 1/2 years. Not sure what the per day operating cost is after figuring in water and electricity. But it was worth it. LOVE. THIS. ICE!!!

Got the ice maker, did some extra sterilizing and cleaning cycles because, HER. Moved it to its permanent location and plugged it in. Ran all night making ice, but didn't seem to be making a lot and we were getting the "Add Water" light when the tank was about half-full. We started trying to troubleshoot when SHE double-checked the instructions and said to check the tank hose and to be sure that it's flat on the counter. I did and, low and behold, dummy me plugged the power in before connecting the tank hose and I ran the hose =over= the bundled power cord behind the machine. Once I re-routed the hose so it was flat on the counter, it started working property and has continued to do so the past almost 3 weeks. Yes, there are other ice makers that are a lot cheaper, but I don't think any of them can touch this one. =She's= happy, so that's all that really matters!

This was a purchase that I have thought about and debated over for 3 years. Pebbled ice makes every drink taste better! This is amazing! I told my husband that some girls ask for diamonds for their 20 year wedding anniversary but I just want pebbled ice! He got off cheap compared to that!

So far so good! Quite a few steps to set it up, but very clear instructions and not difficult at all. I've had it for a week. I love it. The only issue I've had is getting the side tank to properly provide water to the main unit but other than that it's been great.
