Love the ice, but the noise is terrible! I’m literally in the process of vinegar soaking my opal. It literally sounds like a cat-fight during the defrost cycle. Hopefully a cleaning will fix the noise because if it doesn’t, this will go down as being one of the worst appliance purchases ever!

This is the loudest, squeakiest ice maker I have ever owned. The sound is akin to basketball shoes on a newly waxed floor. You know it is making ice, so if you do not have the app, no worries, you can hear it from any room in the house. I guess some ice makers are quiet and some are very loud. Very disappointing for the price. The ice is wonderful though.

This is our third attempt with this ice maker, and the third time we have returned it. This one did not work properly from arrival, so perhaps it was damaged in shipping (although the packaging showed no obvious damage). But given that we have tried two of these before, and they both failed within three weeks, we are inclined to think it is a design issue. Which is a shame because this machine makes our favorite kind of ice, it runs quieter than the non-GE ice maker we have replaced it with, and the side reservoir is great for our large family. But oh-for-three is hard to argue with.

The product worked great for the first few months! However, it eventually began to make a screeching noise that grew louder and louder over time. We tried every recommended cleaning solution, until it got to the point of sitting unplugged in the cabinet because the noise was unbearable.

We are drinking more water because the ice is just that good. I have heard reviews that the ice maker is noisy, it's an ice maker and will produce some noise but it is a non issue for us. Produces a good amount and the 2.0 is certainly worth the extra cost; having new ice when we want it; on a schedule is a bonus.

This is our favorite purchase over the last year especially while working from home. Our refrigerator ice maker did not quite have enough output, and this one is easy to use and makes softer nugget ice which we love! We are in hot, humid Houston and this ice is wonderful to have! While it does take up some counter space, it looks very nice. It is great for a kitchen or a bar area. It is pretty quiet, gives off some sound but it's nothing more than white noise. We are very pleased with this ice maker!

My apartment doesn't have an ice maker and I got tired of having to refill the trays again and again. This is the perfect solution to say the least. It's the best ice for any drink and it makes it fast. However there is one thing that I've noticed that could use some improvements. The hose that is used between the water supply and the machine uses gravity. If the hose is a bit up itge machine won't make any ice until the hose is pushed all the way down. If there was a pump mechanism to feed the machine there would be zero problems with the functionality. Overall this machine gets a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Overall really good product. Works as described & produces a large amount of ice. The auxiliary tank is very useful & reduces time of adding water to the maker. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was due the noise of the unit when making ice. Every time you remove a scoop of ice the maker automatically come on and I feel is a little noisy.

10/10, DO NOT RECOMMEND At first, this was a really great machine, and I was super excited about the ice. It was a very expensive ice machine, but it made the kind of ice that I was looking for. Within months, this machine turned into a nightmare. The machine itself is extremely heavy and the only way to clean it is to pick it up and physically dump out the water and cleaning product from the reservoir. I have to do this almost weekly because the machine is not refrigerated and the motor runs hot so it creates a green moldy bacteria film very rapidly in the ice bucket. I even use purified bottled water. If you do not keep the machine on and running, the ice melts and the reservoir over flow and leaks everywhere! In order for it not to do that, you have to dump out all of the water which requires you to pick up the extremely heavy machine, carry to a sink, practically hang it upside down to get all of the water out. Honestly, it’s not even worth it! For the price you pay and there’s no easy way to clean the machine or keep it from creating that moldy film. I would not recommend this for anyone!

I had a cheap counter top ice maker to satisfy my ice chewing habit. It died last night so I committed to this investment this morning. Easy to set up, clean for first time use, and has been making ice ever since. So far so good! Having it continuously making ice is great! My previous model couldn't keep up. I was often waiting. Pretty quiet too. Hoping for a long life with this one!
