We got this as a present and can't begin to imagine life without it. All our neighbors want our “fancy ice”. The included side tank is amazing. We've yet to outpace the ice maker with a hand full of people getting refills. The machine is quiet comparable to some others I've heard. Price tag beyond worth it.

We have had this ice maker for less than 5 months. We love it when it is working, but it has quite making ice. I have reached out to customer service who contacted me within 24 hours, but has since gone silent. I would love to get it back up and running again. Until it is resolved I will give it 2 stars.

I love the ice for my drinks and for my reusable ice packs. The system itself is bigger than I had imagined but is quiet and does an awesome job! I highly recommend purchasing the model with the extra water tank on the side because if you use a lot of ice like we do in my household it just saves you so much time from having to constantly refil the water. The price is steep but worth it if you are an ice connoisseur!

Pros are the ice producers is almost exactly like sonic ice as expected. It also produces ice at a reasonable rate although the storage capacity is limited. Corns the maintenance and future maintenance is time-consuming. The directions and getting it to operate online and in the boxing are terrible. There are words that light up on the front of the machine that you would have no idea are there have they not flashed on and off during the installation process. The Wi-Fi directions are useless online although it direct you to utilising them to connect every other GE product with only one exception the icemaker.

This is my third GE ice maker. And now I'm kicking myself for giving them another chance. Every single one of these stops working within two years. This most recent $600 opal 2.0 lasted me exactly 1 year and 2 weeks before I came home to it making a horrible grinding noise and no ice in the bin. Two weeks out of warranty. Of course. Never again. What a waste of money.

After fighting with another company and having their nugget ice machine replaced multiple times, we have been very happy with the operation of this machine. Production is fast and the extra water tank on the side is a fantastic feature. The only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars is the weak water draw from the side tank into the machine. If the inlet hose is not perfectly flat it can easily stop feeding water into the machine even with a full tank.

So far this has been just wonderful. The installation instructions could stand to be expanded, at least for me. The type of ice it makes keeps my drinks colder and with a more true taste. I love the options I have as far as controlling it via the app. I love it to have a lower selling price, perhaps that will come as more ice makers hit the market.

I really enjoy my ice maker! I had a hard time finally getting the one that actually made the pellet ice! You wouldn't believe how many ice makers claim they will make the pellet ice, just to get it and it's the wrong kind. Glad I finally got the right machine

GE Profile line is unmatched! This is my 3rd profile appliance and it is by far the best ice maker on the market. Within 15 mins of filling it up with water after cleaning all the new parts for the first use, it was already dropping beautiful nuggie ice!!! The taste is the freshest and tastey ice I've ever had. After seeing the reviews of the complaints being made it was easy to see it was all user error. I already knew GE would not disappoint with the opal. I am only using bottled water and couldn't imagine ruining this beauty with tap water. The current sale price was really nice too. Thank you GE for another beautiful machine.

Love the ice maker. I opt to make ice a couple times a week and store it in an ice bucket in the freezer instead of keeping the ice maker on all the time. It doesn't keep it cold necessarily so what happens is it makes ice and fills up the bucket of the ice maker and then it does keep it cold for a little while but then, as the ice melts, the water goes back into the Reservoir and is used to refresh the ice made by the machine.
