Love the texture and size of ice cubes. The machine keeps up with our ice demand for the two of us. The machine is noisy enough when making ice that I can hear it from the bedroom in the middle of the night. The ice maker must not keep a freezing temperature - I'm guessing the ice cubes melt because the machine will randomly kick in and start making ice again even when we haven't used any for several hours (e.g., 4 am).

The ice maker is constantly making ice, it's a quiet machine, installation was quick and had easy to read instructions. I recommend everyone to have in their home.

This is an awful product. I've had it just over a month. It makes this horrible screeching noise and it stays in defrost mode. It makes very little batches of ice. I've tried to reset it by unplugging and leaving off for a while. It still does the same thing.

In less than 8 months the Opal Nugget maker stopped making ice and would go from defrost mode to make ice mode and back and forth. Refunds are only given if the machine stops working after 60 days. One year warranty only covers you for a used refurbished replacement. No thanks.

It's lovely. When it works. I owned this beauty of a machine for a week before the trouble started. “ADD WATER” appeared when the ice maker had plenty of water. Sometimes I could reset the message and restart the ice-making stage by opening and closing the ice bin, power cycling the machine using the power button or unplugging it and plugging it back in, running a cleaning cycle, and cleaning the sensors. it was inconsistent on what would make it work again. It even turned off (shown on the app and ice was melting) but all indicator lights on the front unit remained lit. I want to say more but apparently reviews are moderated and some comments are not allowed. Purchased 1-27-2021.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Opal ice maker, this version is much quiter and fiils the ice nearly twice as fast. The side tank is a godsend and the unit is very easy to clean. The only problem is that when someone fills a glass, the dog wants to munch some too.

I was so in love with this ice machine. I love chewing on ice so this came in very handy. It was working great, however all of a sudden it stop making ice. Done everything it shows online from cleaning, to resetting, to disconnect for couple of day and still nothing. Very disappointed that it's so expenses and the warranty is only a year. Too expensive to have such horrible warranty. It's like it knows as soon as the year is up it will die on you.

Unreliable. 1st unit failed after 6 months. GE replaced unit under warranty, and it failed after 5 months. Both had the same issue. Stopped making ice due to “Add Water” error, even though reservoir was full and water cascading down the back. I only used distilled water in both units, and I followed the cleaning instructions as stated in the manual. I believe you have a design issue. I was not willing to request another unit, even though it was still under the initial 12 month warranty period. There is little reason to believe the next one would be any different. I scrapped it last week. An expensive lesson.

I live in Texas hard water we definitely have,so I only use distilled water in my ice maker, I still follow all cleaning instructions the same, it's so quiet sometimes I forget I'm making ice and it's on all day or night. Now I leave the light on to remind me I'm making ice 🧊. You can hear the ice drop when it starts to produce because there's nothing in it yet, but once it starts to fill you don't really hear it. It holds so much ice in one sitting and if you leave it on and the bin is full it will keep your ice and fill your cup right from it. Mine is in black stainless, it's Sooo pretty!I love this nugget ice maker 😍 I give it 5 🌟 's
