This unit works way better than the 1.0 version. The last one was extremely noisy and had so many issues. We now only use distilled water and haven't had any issues other that air bubbles in the line after water gets too low. We use a turkey baster syringe-filled with water and shoot into the fill hole. Works amazing and don't know what we would do without it. Our Profile fridge has an extremely small ice bin so we use to run out like crazy.

Just arrived and after cleaning thoroughly, began making ice in a flash! Fun to watch while the quiet running machine creates nice small opals of ice. Easy to operate, ice tastes great, crunchy too. One very small issue, the ice is VERY wet and if you plan on making a lot to store in freezer for a party, empty the container and freeze the ice flat so it beaks up easily or you will have a hard block of ice that is difficult to break apart once frozen. Any suggestions to prevent this are welcome!

I bought this product to help me increase my water intake while reducing my single use water bottle purchase. This has definitely helped as I am always guaranteed a chilled beverage no matter the type of drink. I absolutely love this and it has exceeded my expectations.

Some people might say having your own crushed ice maker makes you a little bougie and truth be told, they're probably right. However upon being presented one for my birthday, I realized how insanely practical this fine little shiny machine of unbridled joy actually is. I love having an Opal ice maker, this is my second one, first one lasted 5 years. I wish the side water container was bigger since I use everyday several times. I feel like I fill more often then my last one. After a couple of days it wasn't releasing water to make ice so I switched out cover and started working again. I like the black stainless steel, matches my other stuff. I am also glad that I can set it to start making ice at 4 am so by the time I get up there is enough ice to fill my 2 Stanley's.

So far so good but have only had for about three weeks. I love the ice it makes but I'm a little worried about how some people say it will only last a few months or a year or two at the most. I should've gotten an extended warranty. But I'm only using distilled water and I plan to sanitize it next week for the first time after the initial cleaning. My purchase included the side tank but I found, so far, that I did not really need it although it worked perfectly, however, l'm glad I have it and may reattach it eventually. I like the looks of the machine but it is a little loud but it doesn't run all the time. Our kitchen and living room and dining room are all in one big room so the low hum can be noticeable at times.

A must have for those who entertain, host birthday parties, or any get togethers! This machine makes the best ice! The machine is very quick to replenish the ice and keeps it frozen (no water leaking everywhere!) Never run out of ice again. EXCELLENT INVESTMENT!

We bought this to supplement our refrigerator ice maker for lake life. So far, it works just as advertised. About 20 min after starting, it starts outputting quality ice. We don't use it in continuous mode. Generally, a batch is enough for us. We are enjoying it very much.

We tried two other ice makers and were sorely disappointed. When we decided to invest a little more money into this model, our expectations were high, but also exceeded when it arrived and we had our first taste! I loved it so much that I purchased another one for a friend of mine who was overjoyed!

Easy to set up. Nice looking. Makes amazing nugget ice, just like Sonic. Take a star off for noise (it is noisy, we keep ours in the laundry room, so it's not a deal breaker) and the app is buggy. Otherwise, we're very happy with it. Would definitely recommend.
