Love this machine! Makes the Great Sonic ice at home. Extra container on the side for extra water. Fills the container of ice in several hours and then we just dump in the freezer. Has an app so you can set up a schedule if you want, or turn it on when you are heading home.

We love the ice nuggets for our iced drinks and use it continually through the day. Friends and family we have over also enjoy the ice nuggets. Although It's a bit noisy, but we are getting used to it. The only other “wish” would be more even distribution of new ice in the bin to completely fill the bin other than load the backside.

This is the BEST Christmas gift I have ever been given!!! I have wanted one of these for years. I always plan my stops on trips based on who has the "good ice". It produces the good ice fast! I usually fill the side tank 3 times per day, and I take cups of ice with me everywhere I go. I LOVE this product!!!!!

We love the ice that this produces. have had hours probably five months or so. What I do not like is how noisy it is. Not the ice dropping into the bucket but it has this hissing repetitive respirator breathing type noise. It sounds like you're next to someone in a hospital room and they are on a ventilator. so we keep it in a separate room then the kitchen.

This icemaker looks sharp and delivers sonic-type (pellet or nugget) ice as advertised. It makes ice quickly and is reasonable quiet while doing so. While the ice quality is better than most refrigerator/freezers' produce, it is not up to the standards set by Sonic of Scotsman. Having said that, it is a fraction of the price of the Scotsman and fits nicely on the counter.

Very pleased with our purchase of the Opal 2.0. Make plenty of ice so we are never without. The only reason I gave it less and 5 stars is noise - approximately 43 dB at a distance of 15 feet, loud enough I will usually turn it off when we are watching TV in the next room. Check your clearance also, 16.5 inches from counter to upper cabinet was barely enough space for the location where I wanted to use it - if I push back any farther on the counter I won't be able to remove the side tank so, as is, the drip tray hangs about 1.5 inches over the edge of the counter (and you need the drip tray).

My only complaint about the GE Ice Maker is that while it's making ice there is a terrible squeaking noice that it makes that gets my dogs attention and causes him to absolutely freak out. If you can ignore that, it's a great product and would absolutely recommend!

We love the ice! It's just like Sonic, soft and crunchy. It makes enough ice to keep us happy all day, with five adults in our home. We go through a lot of ice, which is why we purchased this. The only issue is that it will stop making ice for no rhyme or reason. It will say "Add Water" when the tank is full. And will stay that way for hours, and then begin making ice again without any specific resolution. We've tried all the resolutions. It has a mind of its own. Fits perfectly under the counter. For the price, I hoped it would be seamless.

We purchased this product to have ice maker on counter top rather than one in the refrigerator. It was pretty easy to install..took a bit of time to understand the process...but then pretty easy. It seems to be pretty quiet and was quick to produce useable ice. I like that I won't need to crush ice for my breakfast smoothies, as the ice produced is small enough for that. The capacity of the ice bin is enough for our family. We had to place the maker on the "island portion" of our counter as it was a smidge too tall to fit under the cupboards.

The picture shows it having ice full to the brim but it actually doesn't keep the ice cold enough to not melt so the bottom melts out as the top condignly refills. what happens because the ice melts is it creates more of a ramp of ice running from the bottom of the where you see it to the spout at the top back where the ice comes out and then it stops making ice because the ice ramp is blocking the spout even thought the bucket isn't full. Even if you pull the bin out and shake it often I can never get the bucket to completely fill up like they have shown.
