Well this thing was cool gimmick and crazy expensive. That being said it makes ice really fast and they are the nugget size for ice. Had the ice maker for 1 week before it started making some moaning sounds. Made sure the unit was level on counter thinking maybe it was just me. Fast forward a few days and the sound has got so bad and loud that the only way to make it stop was to unplug the maker. Thought that the noise would go away but it never did. Also side note this thing is way bigger that I thought it would be. Well after 2 weeks I had to return it because the noise happened within 20 min of being on and would not stop and kept getting worse. When I took it back the guy at the counter knew exactly what I was describing and almost seamed like it was a common issue. Also there was no other units to replace my unit with from the store. So I would say save some money and use the ice trays or get cups of ice from local restaurants and save time, space and most of all MONEY!

This is a wonderful ice machine. It was easy to set up. The WIFI choice is really nice. The only issue is that the on/off button requires a very slight/ light touch to turn off, so I’ve turned it off unintentionally a couple of times. However, it makes the ice so quickly that it was minimal inconvenience.

Wife had to have it. I was hesitant. It’s grown me. You have to use clean water. If your tap water, filtered water or bottled water isn’t as clean as you think. The impurities will collect in the ice maker. It’s easy to clean. I like the Wi-Fi aspect and the schedule future so it makes ice when we want ice. You have to plan about an hour in advance. I’m reluctant to use ice from a fridge ice maker for just not knowing how clean the ice is.

We have 7 kids and 4 adults who all love ice! Out poor refrigerator could not keep up and during the summer months we would go through 10-15 pounds of store bought ice. we enjoy how fast it produces ice, the storage capacity, the ability to create a schedule, and the cube style!

We had a icemaker on our Samsung refrigerator that was no good at all but when we purchased dish GE icemaker I have recommended it to a lot of different people that have had the same trouble with their crazy icemakers on their Samsung refrigerators highly recommend it

Had it for about 5 months now. It has been working flawlessly. For a household of 2, the side tank was not needed. Water refilled about once a week or so. The key thing is to only use distilled water. It will help prevent a lot of problem. Another thing I noted in other reviews about water leaking. I had water leakage once and quickly realized it’s completely user error. When the ice bin is full, do not refill the water to the max line. The app has very basic function, schedule on and off, and turning on/off/dim the light. My wish list is for GE to add a function to schedule the light individually. My only complaint is it can get loud sometimes, usually when water is close to being empty.

We have loved our GE nugget ice maker so far. We have had it for about a month, and it works great. It's easy to clean, and to be able to drain the water after cleaning it. I love that it can light up, so you can see in there, if you need to get ice when the kitchen light is off. It makes the best chewable ice, that keeps your drinks so cold!

The product is difficult to set up. I am a chemical engineer and the instructions are difficult to follow, don't tell you that water will drip through the ice, it is necessary to prime the pump etc. They don't tell you its not made to keep on all the time. Needs to be cleaned out frequently. Called support 3 times and the hold times are over 45 minutes. The support people are real nice and helpful.

We absolutely love our GE Opal 2.0 counter top ice make!. Easy to set up and no-fuss operation. Makes great ice and replenishes the ice bucket very fast. I read a few reviews about it being loud and making noises, but we have not experienced those issues. If you love crunchy nugget-sized ice, then this is the ice maker for you. Makes filling small-mouth bottles a breeze. I haven't used our refrigerator ice maker since purchasing our GE Profile Opal 2.0 counter top ice maker. I also purchased the side tank and I am glad I did! This appliance may be priced a bit high, but it's a fantastic appliance.

Our unit is for a weekend lake home. So on for 2-3 days then sits idle for a week or two. Draining unit isn’t easy. At each start up I run through the bleach water mix and rinse. Don’t want any bacteria issues. We'll see how it goes for the summer. Only in use for a month. Ice production is good so far. No noise issues that I’ve read in other reviews, but ours is in a laundry room away from living area.
