So far so good, it started making ice within minutes. It makes some noise when making ice, but not so much to interrupt a movie or conversation. I love the fact that I can monitor it remotely through the app. It's a pretty hefty appliance and will take a good amount of counter space, but I love this kind of ice, so it's a small sacrifice to pay. The ice maker has a self clean function, so I keep it near my sink to make things easier when cleaning it. It has a hose in the back of the unit that must drain once the cleaning cycle is complete, so i simply detach it and drain it straight into the sink. The ice maker is pricey, so its more of a luxury item for me, but so far its worth it because I love ice with all my drinks. Dentist also recommend this sort of ice for anyone that loves to chew ice, like myself.

I like how it makes the ice , i don't like the sounds. It's louder than the dish washer or as loud. also I should come with auto clean features that do not require undoing the water tubes - that machine is heavy - not easy on my back to move for cleaning. i would recommend BUT it's very expensive.

Love the pellet ice and not overly loud. But it seems to run all the time despite not using that much ice. Must be a fair amount of melting which means the water is used to remake ice. Not sure how much energy that requires and increased wear and tear on machine. Time will tell

Love our new GE Opal 2.0 Ice Maker! It's a workhorse but is so quiet you won't notice it's running. I love the adjustable lighting option and that the controls have minimal lighting too. It's a sleek design that looks nice on our counter. It's fantastic that it doesn't need its own water supply, giving us more options for placement in our home - such a plus! And the ice - so, so good! We love having this soft ice available all the time. My only warning is be careful when cleaning it not to submerge the bin as water will get into the double-walled front. I think the instructions could have been more clear on this point, but we were able to remedy the issue by removing the handle to drain as much water as possible, let it dry and then replace the handle. Overall, don't hesitate to purchase this ice maker!

I've watched this ice maker for years wanting to purchase but wouldn't because of the price. I finally decided to get it. It's defiantly not what I expected it would be. You have to clean it with bleach water once a week or your ice ends up tasting like metal and it's a time-consuming process to stop everyday life and clean it. Not to mention it's loud and the ice doesn't last long. Had I kept the box I would have returned it asap. For the price of it I would have expected to be satisfied and I'm not. Such a bummer. I'd dreamed of this ice maker for a couple years as mentioned above. I wish I'd never bit the bullet and bought it.

Very disappointed in this product. As soon as we turned it on to make ice water started pouring into the bin where the ice would go. The unit began making ice quickly and we were happy with that. But after it was full and we removed our first scoop of ice the unit started trying to make ice right away and water began pouring into the bin on top of our full ice bin and melting the ice. The unit stopped trying to make ice and began displaying “add water”. Even though my side tank was over half full of water. I filled the tank up anyway and still displays “Add water”. If I pull the bin out and look there is water in the inside reservoir. But when I shut the machine water will again pour into the bin and after a few minutes without making ice, will again display “Add water” and stop running without making any ice. Very disappointed. I read about these issues, not both happening at the same time but individually.  I had hoped they were isolated issues. But it does not appear that they are. 

Overall the ice machine does what it is designed to do. Quantify is sufficient for a family of four. Refills quickly as well. Would be better with ability to filter the water and add a water line versus filling the reservoir. Received ours with damage. Replacement options not easy, opted to keep. Overall a good product that makes good ice. Price is a little high. Consider it a luxury item.

We wanted two things out of an icemaker: 1) Extra ice when we host dinner or patio parties and 2) a machine that produced "Sonic" ice (nuggets). This machine fits nicely on the counter in our wet bar and meets both requirements. We considered buying a built-in model for 3 X's as much + the remodeling of the cabinetry and we're much happier with this cheaper but just-as-good option.

Had this product for about three weeks and after about three weeks when the machine was making ice it now has a squealing noise that it makes. It tends to make the noise when it is working on dispensing the ice nuggets into the ice bin. For the price paid for the machine it is really frustrating and disappointing to be having issues so soon with the appliance.

Hook is a breeze when you follow directions haha. Super easy to hook up. Produces ice fast. Has WiFi which gives you the ability to turn it off when you are away from the house for a long period of time. If you are using an iPhone, you can access the Wi-Fi settings for the app by logging into the appliance through your phone: Settings—-> Wi-Fi——> Wi-Fi should load appliance, click the appliance—->> now you're connected to your appliance, go back to the SnartHQ app! Really wish they would honor a extended warranty on these guys
