Mixed in with the bird food was some type of stringy fiber; it's too thick to be spider web and too thin to be wool. I found quite a few chunks of it mixed into the bag, but it's easy to separate from the seed. It would be nice if these sunflowers weren't crushed into tiny crumbs, but I doubt the birds mind.

Sunflower seeds consist of a shell (non edible) and the Heart which is edible. The 15 pound bags sold by Walmart for $30 are a great deal considering that other stores prices are over 20% higher. In addition the lack of shells means there is less leftover mess to clean up. In addition if one buys 2 bags at a time you don't have to go to the store as Walmart will ship them to your home for free.

Our birds love this Sunflower Hearts Bird Seed and it works well in our kind of "squirrel proof " bird feeder. We feed many many birds so buy numerous bags of this seed year round :). It also produces no waste so keeps area under bird feeder nice and clean !

I have used Audubon Park sunflower kernals for a few years. All the birds love this seed, but it has continued to get more expensive and now I'm searching the internet for lower prices for the same shelled sunflower seeds. Audubon was the least expensive, but I've found another company that offers more for less. So, for now, I'm buying a different brand from a different company.

I failed to close the porch door, and sweet opossom had a tasty late-night snack of sunflower hearts. Everything's got to eat, right? The hearts have a fresh odor which makes them appealing to all wild critters. Of course, All the many species of birds which feed from our 4 stations prefer these before all the many other birdfoods I offer.

The birds love this food! No mess and unlike the cheaper “backyard bird mix” type food, the birds eat ALL of it! The filler some companies use to make their bird food cheaper also cheapens the food - a lot of it isn’t what the birds like so it’s left. Sunflower hearts are NO MESS and NO WASTE! They wait on my screen window for their turn!

My wild birds love these sunflower hearts. The nut meats are clean and do not have other stuff mixed in like other brands. I have been ordering this brand for over a year and the quality is consistent. My goldfinches twitter with happiness when they land on my feeders, and my nuthatches squeak their thanks when I fill the feeders.

Always loved this seed, but sadly, the last few bags had a lot more crumbs %26 sunflower seed dust than I like, which is only wasted, %26 cuts down on overall value. Not sure if bags r mishanded or comes from the factory like that. It's hard to find good shelled seed at a reasonable price, so I'll use it until I can find better replacement.

I'm fairly new to the bird feeding business, so I don't have the experience most other folks have. but one experience that for me was very consistent was that Audubon Park put out good clean bird feed. well worth any extra cost because of their excellent quality control. however; this stuff does not look like Audubon Park stuff at all. it's got all kinds of weird crud in it including the usual offenders of sticks and such (and a few things I have no idea what they are). it's not as bad as some other brands of bird seed I tried, but for Audubon Park, this is absolutely dreadful. one bad bag does not make me want to choose another brand... yet. I am hoping this is not a trend for the future.
