I have spoiled and silly pet chickens who do not like any brand or mix of poultry scratch I buy them. They prefer sunflower hearts. They go through a lot and this is one of the better values for sunflower hearts I have found. It is always well packed and appears fresh. I have never had issues with the bags coming with bugs like bags I've gotten from hardware stores. My hens would love to eat any included bugs anyway but I appreciate there is less seed waste with this brand from insects eating the product.

Was using another brand but not in stock at the time, thought I’d give Audubon Sunflower Hearts a try! Not only saving money because of its great price, but the birds love it! I’m getting ready to order another bag this week, so I can have enough on hand for our hungry birdies!

good quality birdfood....unfortunately the squirrels always eat alot of it but I just now found a spot to save some of my food just for the birds...greased a ground stake and set it away from any other foundations/trees so they can't scale it! Now some of this great food can actually go to the birds and not the dArn squirrels

The price for this Audubon Park Sunflower Hearts Wild Bird Food really fits my budget. Birds of all kinds love it, even Woodpeckers. It's a joy to watch them eagerly eat. Luckily I have 3 feeders so they all get a chance to eat. Squirrels and Chipmunks like it too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Buy all my bird seed at Walmart....their prices usually beat the other stores...seed had really gone up in price the last couple years. Wish there would be a sale once in a while on it...wuld really help. Other than that I love shopping at Walmart.

PROS : I like this bird food simply because it attracts the largest variety of birds without having seeds that birds don't eat like mullet and unshelled sunflower seeds that are dropped on the ground. CONS: However I wished Walmart would carry the Sunflower Chips and Hearts. There is less mess of seeds skins on the ground. CONS. The price per pound is really too high for this product. I could buy more feeders and food if the price was reduced. WALMART USE TO BE SO MUCH BETTER ON PRICES.

This is a new item for birds I feed. I wanted something that was not going to make a mess in the yard. Took the birds a few weeks to adjust to having just the hearts / almost like they missed the shells. The small birds adjusted quickly, the Cardinals and Blue Jays are taking longer to realize this is the same sunflower just without the black shell. I really like that I don't have a ring of black shells around the feeder pole. The birds will get used to this and find it's just as good as the sunflowers in the shell, and the person who feeds me has less mess to clean up.

Sunflower seemed fresh and whole. However, mostly it attracted goldfinches, and for whatever reason, they simply dropped maybe 75% of the seed on the ground, well more than the doves and other ground birds could keep up with. I switched to another brand that was broken pieces and that fixed the problem. I *think* the issue may just have been that the kernels were too big for the little birds.

Our wild birds love these shelled sunflower seeds! The long, transparent bag has a handle on it, which makes it easy to carry the bag into the garage from the mailing box. The seeds are put into smaller containers for easier distribution to the feeding area. We are repeat customers.

I bought this because it was a little cheaper than Wagner’s sunflower hearts and chips. You get what you pay for. This is ok but has a lot of tiny pieces and “dust.” You need to shake the feeder out when empty because it will have a layer of dust at the bottom. The birds seem to like it however. I may purchase again since it is a little less expensive than other brands.
