Very poor quality! I went through defective 3 Opal Ice Machines purchased from GE before finally giving up. The pumps are poorly designed and constructed and either quit or screech forever and then quit. I DO NOT recommend this machine at all!

do not waste your money on this piece of junk! GE can not make an ice make worth a dang. this makes a terrible noise while making ice it is unbearable. i am definitely returning it and getting another brand. this a junk! A photo wont due justice, i cant post a video i made of the noises this produces!

Purchased one for my wife for Christmas, that one lasted 10 days before it had a horrible screeching sound. We returned that one and exchanged it for another. That one didn't even make it a day before it was making the same noise. We even did the cleaning cycle multiple times (on both new machines) and this didn't help either. We used triple filtered soft water, so very highly doubt the problem was lime buildup in 2 brand new machines. The 2nd one will be going back tomorrow when the store opens.

I loved our ice maker until it quit after 1 1/2 years! I bought the additional warranty but it was useless! I've called several times, got the run around, been on hold…..still no positive response. Warranty company said check with manufacturer, manufacturer said their warranty is only 1 year. I've done everything they told me %26 when I turn it on, it makes ice for about an hour then water runs down inside back of machine, melting available ice! I do not recommend this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So excited to receive this. I stay dehydrated about 70% of the time. I absolutely hate drinking water but love ice. The first one worked for about a day, and literally came to a grinding halt. The replacement wouldn't even turn on. These machines are a terrible design and Im really surprised Sams Club is allowing them to be sold. Pay attention to the reviews, it isn't just a few bad apples, it is just an overall bad product. (The Opal customer service didn't even try to have me get it repaired, they told me to send it back within 30 seconds of the phone call)
