Toothbrush is great but uses USB A

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Functionally, this toothbrush is great. I definitely was able to feel a difference in how clean my teeth were even after the first use. The three different modes (clean, sensitive, and white) give the brush much appreciated versatility, and allow my wife and I to both use the same base by simply swapping out the brush head. I use the brush on clean mode, and one of the first things that I noticed is how the small size of the brush head makes it so much easier to maneuver and clean around my back teeth. It used to feel gritty when I rubbed my tongue back there, even after I just finished brushing, and now the area feels smooth. Initially, my wife was using clean mode as well, but she found the vibration of the toothbrush to be extremely ticklish, and she also was experiencing some increased sensitivity of her teeth. After changing over to the sensitive mode, the issues have resolved. She also is a heavy handed brusher, and the violet warning ring on the base has been great for helping her develop better brushing habits. My biggest gripe about this toothbrush isn’t with the brush at all, but rather with the charging setup. It comes with the stand and cable to charge, but not the actual brick that plugs into the wall. Ok, I can handle that, but the adapter is a USB A. I haven’t owned a USB A product in several years, and had to go online to order an adapter to use this tooth brush. I really wish they had just put a normal plug on the charging base or at least a USB C, so that it would work with power bricks that I already own. I also would suggest bringing back the color coded brush head feature. My wife and I appreciate being able to use the same brush body, but if we put the two brush heads in the carrying case when we travel, there is no way to distinguish which is which, so for now she packs hers separately even though there is room for it in the case. Overall, this is a top notch toothbrush. It absolutely delivers in making my teeth feel as clean as they do when I leave the dentist’s office. Although I have some minor complaints about the charging setup and a wish for the ability to personalize the heads, it doesn’t take away from the fact that this toothbrush is worthy of a 5 star rating. I am thankful to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending us this toothbrush to test and review, and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with sensitive teeth looking for a great clean.

Great for aggressive brushers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed the Philips Sonicare 6400 toothbrush I received from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The pressure sensor was by far my favorite feature. The pressure sensor lights up when you are brushing too aggressively- say good bye to bleeding gums from over brushing. The brush left my mouth feeling cleaner than when using a manual brush and no bleeding gums. I really like the design of the brush but the brush and brush heads are different colors which I found odd but not a deal breaker. The charger has a USB but no hub to plug it in- thankfully I had extras at home.

Smart Toothbrush Makes Brushing a Breeze

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit leery of a smart toothbrush, but there are a few specific features that drew me to the Philips Sonicare 6400 - first, that it would alert me if I was brushing too hard via a nifty light at the base of the brush, and second, that it would tell me when it was time to change the brush head. While I haven’t had the toothbrush long enough to use the second feature, I’ve already noticed a difference in my brushing technique from the real time feedback that this brush provides! My teeth feel cleaner, especially when I use the “whitening” mode that it offers (an extra 30 seconds of cleaning, meant to target the front section of your mouth), although the basic cleaning mode does a great job too and my mouth feels fresh when I’m done. I love that the brush provides a vibration alert/timer to move on to the next section of my mouth as I am brushing, and really appreciate that it’s meant to cover 6 sections of your mouth. It really helps compared to a manual brush and timer. Love the fact that it’s rechargeable and that it comes with a carrying case that can store two brush heads - it would be even better if the toothbrush could charge in the case, but I think that’s available in a different version. My one complaint about the case is that you have to make sure the brush is totally dry - I used it at work and then stuck the case in my purse without drying it thoroughly and a bit of water leaked out. Not a dealbreaker by any means - especially when it means that I am brushing after lunch! I also wish that the charger came with the wall plug; it’s a USB cable, so I just used a plug that I had from an old phone. Aesthetically, the black handle is pretty great. Very modern and clean looking. The black handle and case make it extra cool to use as a brush on the go. I received the Philips Sonicare 6400 Rechargeable Toothbrush from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Excellent toothbrush

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this toothbrush! I never thought I'd say that, but it's sleek and modern and most importantly it does an amazing job cleaning my teeth, leaving me with a fresh mouth and helping me feel my best! I honestly think my teeth look cleaner and white since I started using this toothbrush. I start and end my day with a fresh, clean mouth and my teeth feel smooth and clean! There is no comparison to brushing with this toothbrush and using a regular toothbrush. This is a superior product! I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

I am absolutely in awe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first electric toothbrush I’ve ever owned, and now I can never go back. When this arrived, it came packaged very nicely with clear instructions to download the app. When I first picked up the body of the toothbrush, I immediately noticed how solid and well built it felt. It also lit up when I picked it up, so it has some sort of motion sensor built in. The heads come individually wrapped and have their own plastic cap so you can easily cover them when not in use. It also includes a nice travel case that can hold two heads and the body. The last item included is a usb charger that charges the toothbrush similar to a wireless phone charger. You just set it on the base and it lights up letting you know it’s charging. When you plug a head onto the body, the toothbrush has a small vibration to let you know it’s properly attached. Once it was fully charged, I turned it on and connected it to my phone via the Sonicare app. To my pleasant surprise, it connected effortlessly which is always a coin toss when trying to connect any device. The app is designed nicely and is easy to navigate, it basically coaches you on the best way to take care of your teeth. It even tracks your brushing and lets you know if you’re using the toothbrush correctly. Now onto the brushing portion… there’s a few settings to choose from. A clean, sensitive, and white option. Inside of those options are 3 different vibration strengths. I found that the clean selection on the high setting works best for me. When I tried to brush for the very first time, I underestimated how much this vibrates. The toothpaste vibrated right off the bristles the second I turned it on haha! Round two, I put the brush in my mouth before turning it on and had no toothpaste mishaps. It has changed what I thought clean teeth were. Prior, I genuinely thought my teeth were clean with a normal toothbrush. After using the Sonicare, I realize there is a completely different level of smooth teeth I’ve only ever had after the dentist. One of my favorite features is the “change areas” timer. Every 20 ish seconds the toothbrush has a little buzz change in the vibration letting you know to brush a different spot in your mouth. It also has a 2 minute timer that shuts off the brush so you know you’re not over or under brushing. Once you’re done brushing, you can easily clean the entire device by running it under the sink. It’s waterproof so you don’t have to worry about getting the buttons wet. If there was one small thing I could change about this, I’d include a wall plug in for the usb. Other than that, this thing is perfect. The Sonicare truly has changed the way I brush my teeth, and I look forward to using it every day. I’ll never go back to a regular toothbrush. *This product was received for free as part of the Stellar product testing panel.

Great electronic toothbrush for teeth sensitivity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Sonicare toothbrush is a sleek, easy to use, and gentle toothbrush. For someone with sensitive teeth, this toothbrush is brilliant and helpful to help get my teeth super clean without causing pain or discomfort. You can notice after a few days that your teeth are more clean than using a manual toothbrush. It gives you a nice clean feel similar to leaving the dentist office. I found the multiple modes to be beneficial since my teeth sensitivity varies. Also I love that it's rechargeable. My husband has a different brand of electric toothbrush, and this one is much quieter than his (bonus!). Overall, a great electronic toothbrush that leaves your mouth clean and fresh. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this toothbrush.

soft and gentle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed with this toothbrush. It runs very quietly, which I appreciated, and it’s soft and gentle enough that my 5 year old boys could use it comfortably. They actually enjoyed brushing and said it tickled while still making their teeth feel really clean. Compared to other electric toothbrushes I’ve tried, I like that this one has fewer spots where mold could hide, which makes it feel much more hygienic. Overall, a great choice for both kids and parents. I received this toothbrush from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Good First Electric Toothbrush

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first ever electric toothbrush, and I have been really liking it. I did review the user guide before using it, since I was uncertain about the settings and what the best practice is for using it. With it being my first one, seeing the mouth diagram in the manual and then having the mouth section timer has been great! The unique buzz for moving to another part of my mouth is really clear, and I was able to find a rhythm with it quite quickly - this is definitely my favorite part of the brush. The thing I'm still learning is not turning the brush on when it's not in the mouth otherwise it will fling all the brush ick all over. I was surprised by how small the brush area is on the head compared to a regular toothbrush, but after a few uses, it's clear that it does the job. The first time I used it, it feel like my teeth looked noticeably cleaner. After a few more uses, I'm not sure that was the toothbrush, but my teeth do feel noticeably cleaner with this electric brush than with my normal toothbrush. After our first week together, I went on weekend trip without this brush and was really disappointed to not have it. Overall, the look of the toothbrush is quite sleek, and the feel in hand is comfortable. The buttons are easy to use. The main challenge I have is storage. I don't have a great spot for it in my bathroom, so I need to remove the head every time I store it. Hopefully this doesn't cause an issue over time. I also have to put it in a weird place to charge, because of limited space, but since I hopefully won't have to charge it very often, that's not a big deal. I also wish it would come with the wall plug, not just a cord. Too many products are doing away with this and if no one gives you any, then what...I don't want to have to buy a wall adapter. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

I wanted to love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a fairly recent convert to the electric toothbrush trend, but at the recommendation of my dentist have been using a rechargeable toothbrush for about 18 months. I’ve been curious about the Philips Sonicare 6000 Rechargeable Toothbrush, since it seems slightly more streamlined than my current brand, and was excited to test one after receiving it as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. First of all, the packaging of the Sonicare 6000 is definitely superior to other brands. Everything came neatly packaged and individually wrapped, which prevented cardboard dust (and honestly who knows what else) from accumulating on the toothbrush handle during shipment. The 6000 arrived with one toothbrush head and a charging base, plus a helpful instruction manual, and came fully charged! Always a nice bonus when you’re excited to try a new product for the first time. The Sonicare 6000 is easy to use and ergonomically designed. It features various bells and whistles, like a sensitivity light that tells you when you’re pressing too hard, and several “modes” of cleaning to accommodate for sensitive teeth and gums. The toothbrush head itself is quite small in comparison to other brands, and it is surprisingly easy to reach all my back teeth! I appreciated that the toothbrush bristles are very soft and specifically designated “gentle,” as I intentionally seek out softer bristles to avoid damaging my enamel. As far as ease of use, the toothbrush does well; the head pops on and off easily, so cleaning is quite efficient. Charging seems simple (I charge mine overnight when needed) and I haven’t had any issues with short battery life so far. In terms of cleaning, I think the Sonicare 6000 is a step up from a manual toothbrush, but not as effective as other brands currently on the market. I personally think an oscillating brush that manually moves the bristles against your teeth and gums is going to clean plaque more effectively than a toothbrush that only vibrates—even if it also redirects water between your teeth, as the Sonicare claims to (PS: you can’t have this toothbrush on and not in your mouth—water and toothpaste will go EVERYwhere). I didn’t find that I had a particularly “clean” feel in my mouth after using the Sonicare 6000. In fact, it felt much like using a manual toothbrush to me. I really wanted to like this product, particularly since it does such a great job of getting to hard-to-reach teeth. I think that if you’re accustomed to using a manual toothbrush, the Sonicare 6000 is going to feel like a spa trip! But if you currently or formerly use an oscillating brush, this one might be a bit of a disappointment.

Sensitive Gums

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being post-partum and having sensitive gums, this toothbrush saves me! The built-in pressure sensor keeps me from brushing too hard, and the app connection gives personalized coaching that keeps me accountable. With multiple intensity levels and modes (Clean, White, Sensitive), I can tailor each brushing session to my needs. A full charge lasts up to three weeks, which makes traveling stress-free. The slim travel case is also a nice touch that can hold two toothbrush heads which one is mine, one is my husband’s and that saves us space. The design is sleek, lightweight, and comfortable to hold. It feels like a luxury product worth the investment. My only con is that the toothbrush heads are smaller than a manual toothbrush. I received the Philips Sonicare 6400 Rechargeable Toothbrush from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I’m so glad I had the chance to try it.
