Has a lot of already programmed recipes and I am very glad it differentiates between dry and soaked beans and grains.

For starters, it's absolutely gorgeous and such a great addition to my counter space. It actually takes up much less room than I was originally thinking. I was a little intimidated when I first unboxed but it honestly couldn't be any easier to use. The beautiful touch screen offers prompts for every step of the way, even showing you what to do, with images. Just fill with water, turn on, select what you're cooking (for example, rice), add food to the pot, select the texture you'd like and choose when to start (now or at a later time). I chose to set it for when my chicken would be ready and it was timed perfectly. As you'll see in my photo, I made the most delicious and perfect fried rice I've ever eaten in my life. So fluffy and each piece was cooked to perfection. The KitchenAid grain and rice cooker is fool proof. It comes with a very well written manual with so many different food options to cook from various rice and grains to all the beans you can possibly think of. So excited to try out all of the recipes in the included recipe book. I love to cook for my family but being such a busy mom, I don't always have the time it takes. This grain and rice cooker will allow me to save so much time. Not only cooking, but also cleaning up. I normally dread cooking rice and oatmeal because of how long it takes me just clean my pots at the end. I'm so happy to report, that is no longer the case. The KitchenAid pot literally cleans itself with the push of a button. I haven't had to descale yet, but maintenance will also be a walk in the park, with just the push of a button. You may have to clean the pot just a tad in the sink or dishwater after using the self clean cycle, but it's nothing in comparison to using just a normal pot on the stove. Obviously, I'm in love with this appliance. Never in a million years will I be cooking rice, beans or oats in any other way. This is a must have!

There’s a timer that is set according to how much rice or beans there is in it. It has a touch screen where you can choose what kind of grain or bean you put in the machine. It comes with a large capacity water storage jug. This machine is on the pricier side, but if you are someone who eats rice or dried beans often- and doesn’t own a rice cooker or pressure cooker, I’d opt for this rather than a rice cooker or pressure cooker because of the versatility, 2-in-1 machine.

It prompts you through the overview and then has options for the type of rice or grain you are cooking. I chose a full bag, and the machine measures how much in the bowl so that it knows the precise amount of water to dispense. When it is done, it will beep. The cooker automatically goes into warm mode. I let mine sit for 30 minutes to see if it truly keeps it warm. It did! I thoroughly enjoyed cooking with the quality brand and will enjoy many meals from it!

It automatically weighs everything so no worrying about too much or too little water. You can also steam vegetables on the steamer rack which has been my favorite!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have some work to do to take full advantage of the grain and rice cooker. It works great for rice and beans. However, there is very little information included to tell how to do custom things. I would love to see more details in the manual and maybe some recipes that use them. Also, it would be great to see some recipes that add ingredients other than water to the pot and be able to make a full dish in it. That would help to align usefulness with price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I been using this cooker for a full week. I made jasmine rice with this and it came out perfect. The texture of the rice was fluffy and it was very easy to use. Clean up was even easier. I think this is a great appliance but I do wish it was not so bulky. I think a sleeker design would be better especially for people with small living space.
