Great for rice and beans. Need more information.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have some work to do to take full advantage of the grain and rice cooker. It works great for rice and beans. However, there is very little information included to tell how to do custom things. I would love to see more details in the manual and maybe some recipes that use them. Also, it would be great to see some recipes that add ingredients other than water to the pot and be able to make a full dish in it. That would help to align usefulness with price.

Very unique rice cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very unique cooker that takes out the guesswork in how much water to use to make perfect rice. The machine has a touchscreen where you can select what type of grain you are cooking. I tried the preset function for rinsed jasmine rice and the rice came out great! The cooker measures the weight and adds the necessary amount of water. The included inner pot is non-stick and removable. I do wish it was made from stainless steel as the non-stick coating may wear over time. The cooker also comes with a steamer basket with a handle in the center; this is to allow the water to flow into the rice cooker as the water source comes from the center of the lid. I usually like to steam a side dish in a plate while cooking rice so this design does get in the way of that. Overall, it’s an impressive cooker and offers a unique function.

Best Rice/Grain Cooker! Great Features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago after moving into my new house. I wanted a new rice cooker. I did some research and decided on the Kitcchen Aid grain & rice cooker. I like it will automatically adjust the amount of water I need depending on the amount of rice I put in. The water compartment is clear sturdy plastic so I can see when the water is getting low. It doesn't just cook rice. I like various multi grains Arthur’s Flours. Now I don't need to use the double boiler so the don't get burn. I get distracted & forget I have something on the stove. Usually why, I have to do one task at a time. With the Kitchen Aid grain and rice cooker I don't have to worry about the rice and grains getting burnt. I can soaked my beans or rice up to 2 hours. The rice is nice and fluffy and stays warm for 6 hours. You have to clean the rice and beans before puttingin in the rice cooker. It is not a rice or bean cleaner. I like the 21 presets for the grain and rice. I can program it 24 hr ahead for delicious cereal or my different rices I like to eat. It has a small insert to steam vegetable. I tried some broccoli and cauliflower, it worked well. I am happy I bought it.

Everyday best friend! Super convenient!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oh busy life. Who have time for cooking? I was skeptical, but this appliance exceeded my expectations. And I’m the picky one. First, it’s a very beautifully designed, creates upscale look on my kitchen and matches others high end appliances. I’ve got lots of compliments and questions about it . Comes with colorful and useful cook booklet. I’ve tried rice, beans, oats and barley , comes out perfect every time and you can choose how dense or soft you need your grains to be cooked. Steaming basket gives many possibilities to make variety of foods. Best part - everything is automatic !! No measurements, no mistakes! It works for you, and very high quality touch display guides your every step! On/off switch, convenient button to open. Very easy to clean. Perfect capacity for big or small recipes. Only one minor inconvenience is that l leave fingerprints on top of the lid, while closing it . I used wet paper towel without any chemicals to wipe it on a picture. It takes time to cook, very quiet, has option to keep it warm and delayed start. Basically, makes my busy life easier with stile. I Highly recommend this grain (and not only grain) cooker. Planning to buy one more, as a gift for my daughter. KitchenAid, you’ve done it again!

I Love This Appliance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m absolutely in love with this appliance! It’s incredibly easy to use and delivers perfect results every time. I can simply set it and walk away—no fuss, no stress. It takes care of everything and even alerts me when it’s done. The touchscreen is a total standout—sleek, intuitive, and a joy to use. I’m already excited to experiment with more recipes. Honestly, I can’t recommend it enough!

Get you one !!!

A dream come true !!! Here In Louisiana rice is a daily staple ; but it’s hard to get the right consistency every time. This rice cooker is perfect in every way !!! It weighs the rice and dispenses the exact amount of water . No messy measuring , no guessing , just fluffy delicious rice . It’s worth the price for sure . I did purchase an appliance slider that has rollers , for easy access . I would always use a rubber spatula to serve or stir as it will scratch with metal utensils.

Best Rice Cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This KitchenAid rice cooker has been an absolute game changer in adding the perfect amount of water to your rice which can sometimes be a struggle. But, not with this! Makes perfect rice every time because it automatically dispenses the correct amount of water. The cooker is super quiet and easy to clean. Looking forward to cooking beans next for taco night!

So good, it has made rice our go-to side dish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this rice cooker! Yes, yes, I know it cooks other grains too, but rice is mostly what we cook in it. Sometimes it can be tricky to get rice to come out perfect on the stovetop, not too dry and not too moist—and then what happens when you want different textures or there is a delay in the rest of the food and it has to sit for a while? This grain cooker solves both of these problems and its stay warm feature can keep it the perfect temp and texture for even hours. The start time feature is also very helpful by setting things up to be cooked, and can make meal prep a bit less stressful. The user interface is also good, making it easy to use. The only downside to this cooker is that, although it gives you an estimated total cook time, the time remaining isn’t displayed until it is almost done, so I always pay attention to the time I start it if I care to estimate when it will be done. But I would rather have perfect rice than knowing down to the minute when it will be done. All in all, a worthy investment.

Convenient and cooks like a dream!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first rice cooker I've ever used, and seeing as how easy and convenient it is, I can't imagine making rice on the stove again! We are vegetarian and eat a lot of beans and pulses, many of which I have to soak overnight or cook for extended periods of time. This cooker makes it so easy to do that, and is big enough to accommodate for the entire family! It's very smart and takes away the measuring and watching steps from me. I only wish that the pot part was stainless steel, as I have moved away from using non-stick.

Exceded expectations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This appliance is pricey! However, so far I've. made brown rice, quinoa, and black beans in it and all turned out better than I expected. The beans were still slightly hard but I have to admit that I used old beans and did not soak them overnight before cooking them. I think they would have been perfect had I taken the time to pre-soak them. Fresher beans would probably help as well but I was curious to see how they'd turn out. It saves time and is pretty straight forward to use but I think the power cord needs to be longer. I'd like to keep it on my counter as it's a good looking appliance but the cord is not long enough to reach the outlet. Overall, I am terribly happy with the purchase. I waffled back and forth on giving it 4 or 5 stars and went with 5 as I don't feel it would be fair to go with 4 due to the hefty price and short power cord. 4.5 stars would be ideal!
