But it has some slight differences from side to side using the same setting. Its OK after you discover this and make the appropriate setting for each side. We find a half setting less on the left makes toast the same shade as the next higher setting on the right. (Such as 3 1/2 on the left and 4 on the right.) It really is a beautiful toaster and now that we both are retired and have the opportunity to eat breakfast together at home a 4 slice toaster is a must. And its nice that each side has its own crumb tray Its stainless steel finish is a breeze to keep looking sparkling new .

This is a good toaster and it looks good, too. I like the choice of settings and the size of the slots. I do find that it has to be cranked up to a high setting to get a nice toasty product but I guess that leaves lots of options for other times. Also, I know I need to get used to it. My previous different brand one was 0 to burn at low settings!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In trying a lot of toasters over the years, I find the GE 4-slice toaster a reliable appliance that works well. The features are easy to use and it does not take too long to get used to the timing for the perfect, even toasting. The toaster does the job in a short amount of time and on even sides. It looks nice in the kitchen and fits well on counter space. The slots are wide to hold a variety of breads and the frozen button is a nice added feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Modern stainless steel design without a lot of bells & whistles. It's quite large although not particularly heavy. We went through the rounds toasting thick bread, bagels & english muffins. All toasted well on the expected settings although a bit uneven at times .Simple settings for the shades of toast and just a few buttons on each side of this 4 slice toaster. Toasting time was average. Attractive yet simple to use & I do prefer this to using a toaster oven which we had previously used.

Our old GE toaster gave out after 20 years. Unfortunately we purchased a competitor brand as a replacement since it was cheaper and in stock locally, big mistake. Uneven toasting, burnt on level two, hot exterior. Ordered this GE toaster to replace the replacement and love it! Toasts even, the shade settings actually provide different levels of toasting, and it looks nice. Big win is the shade knobs click for each setting, other toaster did not and was definitely a feature we missed from our original GE toaster!

I think the toaster is a very good value. I noticed if you toast bread continuously the outside of the toaster does get hot. Also the left side pops sooner than the right at the same settings making the toast on the right darker even if they are at the same setting

Does a wonderful job of toasting and looks great while doing it. Nice even toasting. The controls are easy to understand and work. Both sides have independent controls so you can have dark toast from one side and light toast from the other, or a bagel and toast at the same time.

When you engage the "bagel" function of the toaster, the two heating coils in the toaster that should not be active in the Bagel mode continue to stay on and accordingly, the toaster does not toast only one side in bagel mode. This was a major disappointment as I toast a lot of bagels. If you use the "bagel" mode a lot, this is not the toaster for you. I would not buy a GE toaster again.

Our toaster was old and only toasted two slices of bread at a time. I asked for a better toaster for Father's Day and my wife bought it. Now we can toast different things at the same time conveniently. Works very well and seems high quality. It looks nice too.

This is a very modern looking toaster appliance which I love. Since it is a 4 slice toaster it does command a wider counter-top space footprint. It has very easy to use controls and you can set your browning adjustments from 1 to 7. The appliance did a nice job toasting both bread and bagels. If you use the bagel setting, the toaster only operates the inside elements therefore you need to place the cut side facing inwards. If you like your bagel toasted on both sides, just use the regular setting of the toaster. Before using the appliance for the first time, you should operate the unit empty once or twice in order to burn off the smell on the new elements using the darkness control set to 7. I found that after the second cycle of the empty burn, the appliance no longer produced any smell. Overall this is a wonderful product with a 4 slice capability which has separate controls. Its stainless steel look is modern and fits well in any kitchen. Registering your product is made easy as you can scan the QR code that automatically populates your products name and serial number. Super easy, awesome. Great product.
